Andy Signore Popcorned Planet discusses the latest news from the Johnny Depp trial 2022 / Johnny Depp Amber Heard Trial 2022!
Excerpt from The Independent
Johnny Depp trial - live: Actor grilled by Amber Heard lawyers over text messages and dr*g and alc*hol use
Lawyers representing Amber Heard are cross-examining Johnny Depp following his two days of testimony in the $50m (£38.2m) defamation lawsuit he brought against his ex-wife. The trial is in its second week at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia.
Heard is being sued by Depp for implying he ab*sed her in a 2018 op-ed she wrote. Although she did not name him, his lawyers claim her allegations have made it difficult for the actor to land movie roles, turning him from “Cinderella to Quasimodo” in Hollywood, as the Pirates of the Caribbean actor described it.
On Thursday morning, Heard’s lawyers challenged the actor over v*lgar text messages sent by him, his dr*g use and drinking, and the length of his s*briety.

Exactly! I never recorded my ex. If he had found out, he’d have killed me. I was way too afraid of him. He also closely guarded his true nature. To those outside of our home, he was affable, friendly, generous, kind, funny, all those wonderful things. Behind closed doors, he was vicious, violent, cruel, and sadistic in a way that every woman fears. He would NEVER have texted shitty things about me to his friends, because he wanted them to believe he was a saint. JD texting those things about AH, meant he was not guarded, and wasn’t calculated in his feelings. Trust me….JD is nothing like the man I was married to for too long.

While i wouldn't discredit actual victims of abuse who are able to stay strong and keep the facade up, even in court, her behavior does seem suspicious. Especially when you compare their behavior. If they both acted normally it would be different but you can clearly see the typical behavior of an abuse victim in Johnny, while she's acting normally or even like an abuser.

As a abuse survivor I am disgusted banging objects and smashing things is considered abuse!!! It was not at her, she did not have him in her face nor was anything thrown at her. She was not scared nor in danger. She was not his focus. She even chases after him which a person in danger would not, they may not leave but they would not chase after. If having a devastating day and hitting inanimate object, which is advised by all therapists is abuse we have lost what that word means. She has a long history of abusing family and partners.

THANK YOU!!! I was hoping someone else pointed that out too! If she was being abused, she wouldn't be following him around trying to ask questions. She was intentionally trying to instigate a fight in order to get some type of "violence" on camera and it's such bullcrap. They have brought plenty of evidence proving SHE was the abuser in the relationship, and that's ONLY what they brought! Imagine how much he dealt with that they're NOT bringing up. She has that ONE thing on him, and it's not even abuse. My opinion, Johnny wins and she should be held accountable for making false claims. And by the way, I never knew Johnny was so dang funny! Obviously, in fact, isn't this what this is all about? Look at how much support he has, legitimately, she tried but really only fooled herself, abd made herself look like a bigger fool in the end, even people she thought would be loyal to her, Elon, her attorney etc, have actually woke up and switched sides because of self awareness and their own honesty. As a DV survivor myself there is no way in hell a victim would berate and blackmail the abuser over supposed injuries from a fight. Nope would not happen. IF he was an abuser in the clip of her berating and blackmailing him, he would have laughed in her face and then gotten volatile again. Abusers do not take those things lightly. All of her recordings took thought ahead of time and planning. Victims don’t do that. Victims are constantly feeling like being on eggshells and don’t plan ahead for a fight. They do everything in their power to avoid fights.

I wish people would stop using the short form DV. In future, the short forms may change and future generations may not know what you are talking about. Spell out the full word- Domestic Violence! Tell the world what it really is! How horrible Domestic Violence really is! Don’t whisper it!
@SilkyShish
@SilkyShish 2 жыл бұрын
My mother is a domestic abuse victim, and I am a child abuse victim, and I also worked for the government for 15 years in domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse. And I can tell you 100% from both my personal and professional experience, Amber Heard is the abuser here and Johnny is the victim. She does not behave like an abuse victim who is scared and been battered by her partner. For one thing, a victim of abuse or domestic violence would never ever instigate a physical fight or argument themselves nor would they talk back to their abuser. And not every single abuse victim will openly discuss nor publicly reveal about being an abuse victim especially, the way Amber had has done for publicity because they are too traumatized by it and there is a feeling of shame they feel. It takes years and years of therapy and healing for a REAL abuse victim to finally open up and discuss their abuse and the majority of them will only share this with close, loved ones. And for those victims who do speak out openly and who will tell their story to the public, they do so to "help" other victims and survivors heal. Amber's purpose for publicizing her alleged abuse was NOT for this purpose and anyone who has followed this case knows this about her. I know this personally. It took me until my early to mid-30's to start admitting to myself and others and opening up about being abused as a child and teenager. And my mother until her dying day never discussed or admitted to herself or anyone she was abused by my father. Amber does not behave at all like a victim of domestic violence. This is a fact.
@ghostratsarah

Victims can be abusers, too. They can intentionally trigger the abuser, or just are messed up in the head enough that they do it without thinking. It's really not uncommon.
@SilkyShish
@SilkyShish 2 жыл бұрын
@@ghostratsarah I never said victims of abuse do not become abusers in SOME cases. This is why my father was an abuser. He was abused by his parents and abandoned and living on the streets by age 9. BUT, some victims of abuse like myself and my siblings did not grow up to become abusers. It is called the cycle of violence and in some families, the cycle of violence continues for generations and generations and in some families this cycle gets broken. So, yes, some abuse victims do end up becoming abusers themselves, but that "abuse" can develop in many forms. Some will also become physical abusers, some will become sexual abusers, some will never harm anyone physically and instead become self-inflicted abusers such as cutting themselves or abuse alcohol and drugs. And some as I just said, break this cycle of abuse. Myself and my siblings are all happy, healthy and productive people who have all broken the cycle of abuse and violence in my paternal family history thankfully. And the point of my post has nothing to do with what you're talking about. You're completely off topic here. What I am talking about is that alcohol and drug use or abuse is NOT a precursor to also being physically abusive especially, when it comes to domestic violence specifically, which is a certain type of abuse that has its own precursors.

@@tamminihumphries9382 - Agreed. I wouldn't consider that abuse in any way. She knew something happened and he was having a bad day so she intentionally stood there to push the issue and get a reaction recorded. So she could get the leverage she was looking for. That's why she was so proud at the end, he fell into my trap mentality. It's extremely telling that she knew he was upset but she stayed there and had no fear or concern about her safety, even when he slammed the doors or broke the glass. If there was abuse, she would've been petrified to be in the same room with him that angry/upset and slamming doors. Especially, when he found out he was being secretly recorded, she still had no fear. Then he left, didn't stay to confront her, argue, or hit her. I hope Depp's attorney points that out. @@donnagrote1283 - You might be right. It depends what the definition of abuse and defamation is in VA. I'm pretty sure Depp doesn't really care about the money. He wanted to get his story out and all the evidence for the public to see that Amber lied and she was abusive, the aggressor, and instegater. He wanted to change the public perception and make sure his loved ones are unaffected by her lies. She will be lucky to get a job after this. She can go to another country maybe? But is it actually abuse if she is the aggressor and instegater? If they are both guilty of at least verbal abuse, that should still be defamation, right? Because she lied about her role in the abuse. Similar to self defense?? I've been wondering this. If it was self defense, is it still defamation? I grew up surrounded by violence. My aunt's husband was an abusive drunk and i gotta tell you that it was like being locked up in a cage with a lion. When someone approached him, he started a confrontation, anything would set him off or he just found anything to fight about. My aunt was terrified of telling him anything. When she cooked, she put the plate in front of him and left the room. she would wait for him to finish eating to be able to eat. he ate alone and went to take a nap. when he was asleep, that's when everyone else sat at the table. My mom and i ate in our room and we weren't allowed to open the fridge or use the kitchen, my grandma sent us food. It was a horror show when he got drunk which happened almost every night so my mom always told me to stay in my room and i would hide under the bed because there were noises of objects being thrown while the adults yelled at each other. i was 8 at the time, i didn't know what was happening so i just cried under the bed. That experience was so traumatizing that even after that person left the house, i still stayed in my room when i came back from school, i was afraid to open the fridge out of fear to be yelled at or punished. The worst part about this, which makes me mad to this day is that, my aunt keeps denying the abuse and protects him even tho he destroyed our family and none of them believe he is evil because he is very charming and constantly acts like a victim. This whole trial brings back old memories and it just saddens me. When i saw johnny mad in that video she recorded, i was not triggered because i've seen my mom act like that when she's frustrated at our misfortunes so I just ignore her, let her scream and kick things, she cools eventually and goes back to normal, even laughs it off. I also have my bad days, so i don't consider that as solid proof of violence. I've lived the worst and that wasn't it.

I was diagnosed with complex PTSD, have the scars and a 50 yr order for protection...and from my professional experience and opinion of working in the criminal justice and legal field with certifications in complex investigations in profiling & psychotherapy for 20+ years, I can say there is no such thing as "mutual abuse" OR "reactive abuse" both are bs tag words that actually do MORE HARM than good when it comes to these situations because they do not address who the instigator is, or whom the victim is in order to protect the person that makes such a statement, so I do not agree with Dr Laurel Anderson's testimony. There is ALWAYS only 1 instigator or aggressor and 1 victim. They cannot be both. It is like I am going to abuse you and if you react, then I'm the victim. That's not how it works albeit self-defense against a primary aggressor can "look like abuse" but it's not the same as an abuser EXERTING CONTROL over a victim. That is the difference. Abusers ALWAYS shift blame to their victims if the victim reacts in self-defense. This is what forms a "trauma bond". There is no physical evidence that I have seen coming from her with the exception that she instigated A LOT. I cannot wrap my mind around how he is right-handed, and her and her legal team are trying to say that he cut off his right middle finger with his...left-hand??? Does not make sense in any direction. I don't care if he was pissed off in his own house or had to escape from her by using to numb....that's what most people do when they are victims, they flee, they hide...they do not chase, instigate and record..

For those who keep pointing out that Amber’s Op Ed didn’t specifically say Johnny’s name: I was looking up Virginia law on defamation and I found an Article that says… “A statement that is both false and defamatory is actionable only if the statement is “of or concerning” the plaintiff. This does not mean that the published statement must refer to the plaintiff by name, however. Rather, the plaintiff satisfies this element by showing that the publication was intended to refer to the plaintiff and would be so understood by persons reading or hearing it who knew the plaintiff.” This is EXACTLY what JD is claiming in his case given these statements made in Amber’s Op Ed: 1: “two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.” (The only person she openly and blatantly accused of DV 2 years prior to the Op Ed is Johnny Depp.) & 2. “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.” (The man she accused of abuse is Johnny Depp. And she’s seeing it in “real time” because she’s claiming that it happening to her) These are the elements JD is talking about.

The point of this lawsuit is JD is suing AH because she broke their NDA and wrote an op-ed in the WP saying she was a survivor of DV 2yrs ago, but never mentioned JD name in the online & paper article. 2 days later People mag & the Sun (plus many more media) called JD a wife beater. AH never corrected the story but gave photos of her broken nose (which has been proven she never had a broken nose) ect and 2days later Disney called and dropped him from PoTC5, he got no more work with his production company and dropped out of his band because he didn't want his band mates to suffer. So all that being said I think her multi million dollar lawyers are doing a great job for JD. And I think he is doing this to clear his name, it's not about the money because he can never get back what they took from him. As for the text messages, my husband even said that's all shop talk, people say things when they are angry, it doesn't mean they're gonna act on it. We are 100% TEAM JOHNNY! I can't wait till she gets up there and Johnny's lawyers rip her apart! She's got skeletons in her closet for sure

The problem with the op-ed is in the fact that she was a false victim of domestic abuse two years prior! She wasn't a survivor from abuse, as she portraied herself! In fact evidence allow the state of the opposite! She was the abuser! And the op-ed was another abusive action against her two years ago former husband! It's a piece of opinion that would BE associated with him no matter what! She knew it and She couln't CARE less of the repercussions the man She claims to love so much would experience and that's malice at the eyes of Virginia law!

Ambers behaviour is very typical of narcissistic abuse, and pushing Johnny to act in ways that will look abusive. Look up reactive abuse, recording things and provoking drama etc. As a dv survivor, I've seen all of this first hand and it makes you feel like you're losing your damn mind. 100% emotional abuse and psychological torture.

She has so many recordings about Johnny throughout the relationship when he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol ... she managed to record all that but never once him hitting her .... exactly. No one seems to ask the question that when your spous is going through hell ... why she wasnt helping but recording instead. She is pure evil....

I don’t think this did anything to hurt Johnny. Bc let’s be honest, you can assure this sneaky biotch tried catching him on video every chance she got. So the fact she doesn’t have one video of him hitting her speaks volumes to me. Had he, we would all see it. The fact she would even do that to her bf/husband is literally beyond me.

I'd like to know if the house was mostly under video surveillance by Depp's security. If so, he has no expectation of privacy. That would explain why the Judge allowed the video.

The alleged date also coincided with the morning after the death of his mother. Frankly, his relationship that he had had with his mother must have brought up very mixed emotions. Drinking alcohol to numb out pain, and venting frustration when these circumstances, is very, very common, in fact, if you had a friend who was suffering raw grief you probably would understand this behaviour. The fact that he often used alcohol under other circumstances might explain why it was his go-to. Being an alcoholic doesn’t negate why this incident happened, alcoholics also suffer grief- just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean that no one is out to get you.

The first therapist that testified on JD's side said when the two of them were in her office to talk things out, Amber always talked over Johnny and didn't let him talk. The therapist had to tell Amber to stop so that Johnny could talk.

When someone is so upset they are bashing cabinets etc. Most dogs, cats and sensible people get Out of the Room! They do not stand there goading the angry person and recording them on camera. Watch The Body Language Guy’s opinion on the body language in this clip. He says Johnny’s body is always turned AWAY from Amber during this interchange. He is not directing his anger at her. He was angry about a business matter. Even when he found the camera, he only throws it in the bin. He did not destroy it by throwing it into water nor did he attack his laughing spouse. So, he is not an abusive personality is my book.

@@karencombs9687 He comes across as an addict, and an alcoholic. That he sends very poorly worded texts when frustrated. It has not proven any abuse. No one is perfect under the spotlight of forensic evidence. We all have parts of us that we would choose to keep under wraps, it might be a foul mouth, or addiction, or something else. All it shows is that JD has been dominated by his need to self medicate. That he struggles with depression, and anxiety. Which, most of us knew would come up in this trial.

@@karencombs9687 I think he did pretty well considering he had to look at photos Amber took of his most vulnerable moments. And, staged photos of the drugs that she herself was also using. She was obviously setting him up from the very beginning! I thought her team came off looking desperate. As Johnny has already been very open & honest about his drug use. Johnny obviously abuses drugs… but it’s soo clear that he went out of his way not to abuse Amber. Both teams need to get to the facts of the case. That Amber broke the NDA and defamed Johnny. Like Christopher Melcher pointed out.

@KimSearch865

@@amandaslade9072 No, they depict a man who suffered at the hands of a malignant narcissist who pushed him to his breaking point. Venting to a dear friend was the healthiest thing he could do at that time. Having 6 hundred million dollars stolen, his mother die, and the woman he loved torturing him during the whole ordeal… seriously… what was he supposed to do?? In some of those texts he’s actually joking. He has a dark sense of humor, that most Americans can’t understand. He picked up the word “cu*t” in the UK, where they use it casually all the time. I had to tell my English husband not to use that word here in the US, as it’s taken as a great insult. Many of Johnny’s friends are British, so he speaks in their language. Hence his texts to Paul Bettany.

As a person who has been in a toxic relationship with an abuser, and an empath, I can see her demons, I bet her face and eyes change when she becomes abusive. As for Johnny, I feel for him, being slowly broken down, by your partner, you eventually change, and become a damaged person. It's been 10yrs since I left my abusive relationship. Took along time to heal, which I'm still struggling with. My partner for the last 9yrs is great. I hope Johnny finds a better life partner 💜
