Ambient Light and Beams of light in Photoshop CC

They create depth and a better ambient light. Combine it with some basic color grading and you can create a fascinating look.

Great and creative way of doing light beams...i think i will start using it as well is way faster than creating custom brushes. One thing i would like to add is that creating light beams on the left side will affect the right wall as well..but i guess your intention was to shous us a "how to" without paying attention to details Cheers, thank you for the tip :)

When I go into box blur the edges stay hard and don't become soft. How did you get your sun beam box to have softened edges?

In windows I have aslo face same problem... After use Box blur... Can't blur the edges..

you must make sure that you have deselected the area then apply the box blur.

can someone pls help me , after I applied the gradient it doesn't fade out in all directions , there a solid border to it , what do i do to achieve that fade look ??

Did you blur the gradient? You have to apply gausian blur to it
