The head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service has told the BBC that America has been trying to "rule the world" and this could lead to "disaster”.
In an exclusive interview, Sergei Naryshkin also said that Russia doesn’t trust what the British government says about the Salisbury poisonings.
Russia’s spy chief, who was talking to the BBC's Steve Rosenberg on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two, claimed people in the West forget about Russia’s contribution to the defeat of Nazism.

Meh, I've lived in the USA my whole life and never once heard that the USA single-handedly won WWII. This guy's opinions don't sound like he knows many US citizens. He knows our war-mongering reputation, for which I'm sorry and embarrassed, but he doesn't seem to know any actual civilians from the US. My grandparents came here from WWII Poland and other places where human beings were hunted by the Nazi party just for existing. Not everyone in the USA wants war. I've met a couple of Russian exchange students. They seemed very kind, thoughtful and resourceful. We don't deserve each other's hate.

What does the name "Naryshkin" mean?
@user-oj3lv2tx4l
@user-oj3lv2tx4l Жыл бұрын
The Naryshkins are an ancient Russian noble and boyar family, to which the mother of Peter I, Natalya Kirillovna, belonged. Before her marriage to Aleksey Mikhailovich, the family was considered as a small estate and did not hold high positions. The family received a high noble status with the award of the father of Natalia Kirilovna, Kirill Poliektovich, to the boyar estate. The origin of the genus is very obscure. It is believed that the noble origin of the Naryshkins - from the Germanic tribe of Narists (Norisks; German Norisken), mentioned by Tacitus in a treatise on the Germans, was composed after the marriage of Natalya Kirillovna with the tsar (1671). Since the city of Eger with the imperial palace was founded on the lands of this tribe, the Naryshkins adopted the coat of arms of this city as a family one [2]. A more plausible version, included in the Velvet Book, is that the ancestor of the Naryshkins was the Crimean Tatar Mordka Kubrat, nicknamed Narysh or Naryshko, who left for Moscow around 1465 and was a roundabout under Grand Duke Ivan III Vasilyevich.[4][5][6]. According to the official genealogy, his grandson Isaac was the first to bear the surname Naryshkin[4].

I want to bring some clarity. You saw that video with Putin and Sergei. We saw a frightened Sergei. But, do not think that he was afraid of Putin or that he has a weak character. In fact, the reason was the following. At that event, they only recognized the independence of the DPR and LPR. But! Sergey, as the head of intelligence, understood and knew what would follow this decision (and it happened the next day). He also knew the possible risks of this decision. He knew that the situation could get out of hand. He knew about the high probability of a nuclear war between Russia and the United States. This is in short.. In general, do not judge a person without knowing all aspects. Everything in this world is complicated. If anything, I am Russian and I am not ashamed either for myself, or for my country, or for my president, or for Sergei. 🇷🇺

Why doesn’t he mention how Russia allied itself with Nazi germany so they could annex places like east Poland and Finland? Russia only allied itself with the western allies because Hitler turned on him; they wanted to save their own asses. If not for the western allies and lend lease those fools would’ve been run over by the Germans. Stalin was played like a fool by Hitler and Ribbentrop. He was hitlers dog for the first half of the war. That’s why Russia doesn’t get the credit they think they deserve. They had as much to do with starting WW2 as Hitler himself.

Ww2 is not only connected to the Third Reich! It's Japan and Italy as well. Did the Ussr tell them to attack Pearl Harbor? Oh and btw, how is the Soviet Union to blame for starting the second world War? It's Hitler who turned on them - you say. Didn't he attack Poland and not the Ussr? The Ussr was invaded in 1941, France in 1940 and Poland 1939. If u say that Poland was occupied by the Soviets then why is it Poland we are talking about and the Ussr? Why didn't Stalin attack Hitler directly in Poland if it was part of the Soviet Union? Where's the logic? There's no logic in your words. In addition to this, if you check how much of the land lease provision, equipment and vehicles were sunk u can see that the amounts that docked in the ports were miserable. They did help but they did not influence the war in no way. So was it the American trucks that won the battles in Stalingrad, Moscow and Kursk?
@StufiBuy
@StufiBuy 4 жыл бұрын
@Luke Kor All about Stalin’s dealings with Hitler: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov-Ribbentrop_Pact Here you can read about how the Russians treated the Poles after they annexed East Poland: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre “On the whole the following conclusion can be drawn: that without these Western shipments under Lend-Lease the Soviet Union not only would not have been able to win the Great Patriotic War, it would not have been able even to oppose the German invaders, since it could not itself produce sufficient quantities of arms and military equipment or adequate supplies of fuel and ammunition.” - Boris Sokolov, Russian historian. “I would like to express my candid opinion about Stalin's views on whether the Red Army and the Soviet Union could have coped with Nazi Germany and survived the war without aid from the United States and Britain. First, I would like to tell about some remarks Stalin made and repeated several times when we were "discussing freely" among ourselves. He stated bluntly that if the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war. If we had had to fight Nazi Germany one on one, we could not have stood up against Germany's pressure, and we would have lost the war. “ - Nikita Khrushchev *”So was it American trucks which won Stalingrad, Moscow and Kursk?”* precisely! Actually research lend lease and you will learn that by far the significant game changer for the Russians was when the Americans delivered trucks and fuel. Before that it was all mostly moved by train or horse. Russians had zero chance of defeating a German blitz without American trucks and supplies. Any more questions?
