The best Mango in India considering rich sweet flavor with a hint of tangyness, heavenly aroma and fleshy bite consistency is Langra; as per folklore this was grafted in Banaras by some lame farmer some centuries back and that farmer was known as Langra (Lame) to others in his village, and the mango he cultivated in his yard got its name from him...

And my dad loves pure sweet ripe mangoes . Man the season ended , my mouth is already watering like the River Nile 🤤🤤, damm it I shouldn't have watched this , now I am craving mangoes . I wanna give some information about mango below. Mango naturally growth happened in August month and last only 1-2 days after cutting from tree, there after becteria sucks all the mangoes, best season for mango is the may to July in India by using calcium carbide for ripen mango . We generally use raw mango for pickle in our home by using it with chilly and mustard oil. Red chillies is cash crop of our area.
@user-su5jh3fd5b
@user-su5jh3fd5b 2 жыл бұрын
Alphonso is a victim of the growing practice of artificial ripening. In Konkan region natural ripening can go on up to the end of may, so many traders advance it at the cost of taste and nutrition. A fully ripened fruit weighs 400 - 500 gms on an average, and is undoubtedly super delicious as well as highly nutritious. Maharashtra also has some other wonderful varieties like Payri and Raiwal. All varieties in India are awesome, there is no reason to create a debate there.

So you are supposed to crush the pulp inside mango skin with gentle fingers and then cut the top part a bit and suck out the sweetness out of the mango. So freaking proud to explain this as I guess every one else is from south india and this variety of mango is from Punjab.

You can easily pay $15 (1,100 Rs) to $20 (1,500 Rs) per Indian mango here in the US, _if and when_ you can find them in Indian grocery stores here.

You must try the Himsagar mango from Maldah, West Bengal. It is considered the best in terms of taste. You’d love it.

Korbin, Try the ones you think are "over-ripe" and soft before throwing them away. They may not be bad. Many people eat it like a juice mango by squeezing the whole uncut mango until the insides turn mushy and liquid. Then they bite a dime sized hole into the rind and suck/squeeze all the juice out. You can then tear it apart and gnaw off any of the remaining good stuff from the inside. Also, refrigeration will not be an improvement on the flavor. Take it from someone who as a kid used to climb up in a tree, pick off a fully ripened mango, and eat it sitting on a branch. :)

Yes, that's how we eat mangoes. We put them in the refrigerator and its pretty common for us to eat whole mangoes. And living in India, the only thing I like about Summers in India is mangoes.

Here is a tip if you think your mango is too sweet- cut big chunks of cold mango and garnish it with unsweetened whipped cream. We used to do that but we would use cream from our milk pan (a thick layer of our desi malai).
