Amon was probably the best villian that Korra had. If they made the entire show based around Amon, I wouldn't mind. He was honestly a great character and had a childhood they could expand on. A bloodbender that can bloodbend at any time, basically free real-estate for the creators. And we haven't seen much about bloodbending so this could've been a get opportunity to get to know more about it. Perhaps even make Korra learn bloodbending herself!

Yeah same... I wish they actually explained how he could take bending away in the show, but it was only explained by the creators. Apparently he studied the healing technique that waterbenders use, where the open up chi paths in the body to heal bruises and undo the effects of chi blocking. Apparently he did the OPPOSITE, where he used to water in their bodies to block their bending chi paths.

I wish we could have seen more of Amon, and what happened to the non-benders and equalists after he was exposed. I wouldn't mind having 1 season of Amon taking the city and 1 season for the main characters to take the city back from him.

Even though Amon and Tarrlok are some pretty terrible people, the way it ends for them has always struck me as one of the saddest moments in the series. Both of them could've been cool guys but their dad Yakone was bent on revenge on the Avatar and I'd say it's why they died

Amon is the best villain of the series, his ideology and beliefs is definitely realistic on how non benders would feel in a world crowded with benders that could easily overpower a non bender. Making the uprising of the equalist understandable. Plus the obvious nod to the communist colors is perfect.

Aamon should have remained the main villain in all chapters. It was clear that they moved through the story too fast without any character development. In Legend of Aang it was very nice because the Villain remain the same throughout all the chapters but there was a lot of character development and build up. Zuko and Iroh made it even better. They missed the great opportunity with Amon. The series could have potentially been better than legend of Aang if they stuck with Amon.

Being so light on his feet was an impressive use of his chi-blocking training combined with using psychic bloodbending to do a very waterbender thing and redirect attacks. And enhancing his own physical prowess with bloodbending wasn’t something that even occurred to me that he could do. Powerful guy

I don't really consider him a villain. There is clearly an injustice between benders and non-benders. Politically-, most of the time economically- and socially-wise the benders had serious perks and advantages and basically all the power altough they made like 5% of the population. Every villain and tyrannt abused bending to enforce their rule. Noatak experienced this through his father and only saw the destruction and misery that bending causes. A waterbender could never side with non-benders and fight benders. He would be considered an opportunist and hypocrite. But an idea can. The idea/symbol of Amon who fights for the people and against bending. If he only wanted power he could've seized it easily. No bender can oppose him, Not even the avatar since he could take her powers as well. I believe Noatak truly saw the injustice and that bending only causes chaos and suffering for the "rest" of the people. And he didnt want any people like his father or worse: children, abused and corrupted by them

He was still a villan because he kidnapped and stripped innocent people of their bending. This is an evil crime to me because think of it this way. Bending is part of someone's body, by taking it away from them, it's like cutting someone's limb off. Amon hated oppression, yet he began to oppress others.

Unalaq was also right about how mankind was drifting away from the spirits, Zaheer was right about how freedom should be essential and not regulated by governments and Kuvira was right about how the Earth Kingdom was long overdue for modernization. But they're still villains because they're all zealots that took things too far.

You got one thing wrong about Amon's Bending Severing Technique. It's actually an ability he developed through bloodbending, not Chi-Blocking. Tarrlok later said that he figured out Amon was his brother by the way it felt when he had his bending stolen. He said he recognized it as his brothers bloodbending grip. Korra then drew the conclusion that Amon somehow used bloodbending to take people's bending.

But taking someone’s bending away is like Chi Blocking, because benders use Chi to bend, so if you permanently block someone from using their Chi, they can’t bend anymore (or at least that’s what I think)

Evidently chi blocking is not even more powerful than the avatar, because they have access to all the knowledge of their past lives, additionally how to undo chi blocking to restore bending Hence how Korra regained her other bending abilities.

Zaheer was probably the least skilled villain in the series, after all he only knew how to bend for a few days/weeks. Doesn't mean he wasn't dangerous tho, but just as a bender, he probably was the weakest. Up to the point the unlocked Flight

It would be impossible for non benders to only exist because bending is also spiritual to an extent. toph is the daughter of 2 non-benders.

Agree that bending is a spiritual gift. But we don't know anything about Toph's parents' precestors. Maybe her grandfather being a bender could influence Toph or kinda that.

It still make no sense that just because Amon got defeated, the movement vanished. The non-bender been oppress just forgotten. I mean just because Amon is a waterbender, doesnt mean non bender just stop being oppress

Amon could have been a great villain if Yakone was not arrested. He could have been a cult leader with a wife that bloodbend creating a family and empire of bloodbenders. If amon took his brother and father's life, amon can create a cult of blood benders at a young age.
