I'm surprised you didn't mention the man they drugged and left naked in the middle of the desert. After that they started making fun of him on a livestream, as well as saying that his energy was very bad and that he's going "to the other side of the mountain" because he said "no" to "Mother God". This man was exhibiting symptoms of being emotionally unstable and his family said he was getting obsessed with researching conspiracy theories; he ended up finding the "Love Has Won" cult online and left without any warning, later saying he was "on a spiritual journey to save the world" or something similar. After two days there that involved hard labour, 3-4 hours of sleep and being told more about the lore of the cult (and that's some pretty crazy shit) he contacted his family saying he was trying to find a way to come back home. He didn't return, his family couldn't reach him and were very disturbed when they found the livestream I mentioned above. They filled a missing person report and a search party was organised. The man was found naked, disorientated, drugged and dehydrated wandering through the desert. His name is Alex Whitten and he says they left him to die because he refused to serve "Mother God" and because he wanted to leave. There's a very good article called "Crestone cult Love Has Won leaves man to die desert" by GuruMag where they detail all of their weird beliefs and history, as well as this situation. By the way, I heard they made the children sleep with her corpse... Which if true is awful... Beyond words.

That's heart breaking, I feel awful for him. I know what it's like to have severe mental illness and experience with a cult (in my case I grew up in one though) and thankfully mine weren't nearly as bad as that, they certainly weren't as evil. If they don't want him in their group they didn't have to abuse him, but I guess that's part of how cults work, they make examples of those who leave, so no one wants to leave. You're all too scared of the consequences. Even if they laugh at this guy, they all were scared to be him... I can't imagine what his mind was like while he was in that state, already mentally unwell, then drugged and abused, and left without food and water, and clothing, so every single system of his is going haywire and hallucinating and screaming in pain. Absolutely horrible. :'( I'm so glad he was found, and has family to look after him. I can't imagine how scarred he is from that though..

@@Existential_Dread just thought you might like to know. Roman Catholics are also a cult. You can’t get your sins forgiven by saying 4 Hail Marys and 2 our fathers. Jesus is the one that forgives sin by asking him into your heart and believe in him. I am the way , the truth and life. No man comes unto my father but by me. Ask Jesus into your heart. In the videos I’ve seen of “Mother God” she just seemed like an abusive, belligerent drunk. Most disturbing was a video of her “helping” a couple “train” their toddler by locking the child in a dark closet. The child was hysterical but the parents felt “Mother God” knew best. I know her mother and sister tried to get Amy help but there wasn’t really anything they could do. Since we no longer have involuntary commitment in this country, except in limited cases, Amy was left to just destroy her life and take others down with her.

I believe with Amy, with everything I’ve heard from her family and ex’s; the primary issue was addiction, chronic alcohol abuse since at least her mid-20’s. She blacked out every day or night, according to family & friends; and frequently mixed in various drugs, including meth and mushrooms. While her family didn’t think she had any early indications of mental illness; the fact that she neglected and abandoned her children indicates there WERE other issues. Her so-called “teachings” were superficial and all over the place. She didn’t even know basic teachings in the Bible and seemed to just pick and choose trigger words and phrases from other faiths-often confusing what teaching came from where. She was a con-artist and an addict with a history of using and manipulating men and women to get what she wanted. Some ex-members have come out claiming that the core group seemed more interested in the steady stream of drugs and alcohol rather than any teachings or practices. An ex-fiancé she was back and forth with for years before she started her cult, recently posted some videos you might be interested in. The blind leading the blind, vulnerable using the more vulnerable, addicts using addicts.

This just makes me sad. When I knew her, she was in a relationship, living in Mt Shasta. She would videotape messages and everyday there was a train that would interrupt her video. I met her online because of my art. Evidently my drawings held meaning for her. When I knew her, she was hopeful. She was participating, interacting with people associated with the galactic federation of light, gfol. She was living in a very abusive environment. She and I would Skype and I witnessed some of that abuse she experienced. It was a few years after that we communicated briefly, also about my art. She used to be very sweet, and she was someone who others enjoyed being around. When I saw her on Dr Phil, she was so changed in so many ways. She was so sick, both physically and mentally. I'm assuming because of the alcohol. It wouldn't surprise me if they found suspicious circumstances in an autopsy.

@@thefloreshometeam9278 not sure how to pm you from here. Most of what I witnessed was when she was living in Mt Shasta and we would Skype. Very, very derogatory comments from whoever called himself father God at the time. Hated women, women only good for one thing kind of verbal.. He got ahold of my Skype one day and she called to apologize after. She didn't stay too much longer from there. Next she was in Colorado and with new people i hadn't seen before. I was never part of her group, but I draw and she would find spiritual value in what I was doing. I started paying attention again after I saw Dr Phil show and tried to figure out a way to connect, she looked so sick and I was so shocked. I asked in live chat a few times but they are all so brainwashed.. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I continue to pray for you and your family.

I would say that someone who was obese, and even who actually is obese, can suffer from anorexia. It’s important to remember that anorexia is an eating disorder, not a body type, as the idea that only severely underweight people can be anorexic can lead to people not noticing the signs/symptoms in loved ones who may suffer from anorexia.
@lisadioguardi5742
@lisadioguardi5742 3 жыл бұрын
Some people don't seem to be able to eat normally. They may overeat and become obese, and then lose weight by restricting calories to maybe 300-400 a day. People who are bullied for their weight can become obsessive about dieting. Both can be considered addictions, and there are 12 Step groups for anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating. (I'm not commenting on Tess Holiday because I don't know who she is, just saying some people switch between eating disorders.)

“What if life were an orgy?” This question has its roots in the Amy Carlson story. Reading about her experiences suggested that she was unable to come to terms with conventional society and its guardians. I believe this is what she experienced when the thought occurred to her that social experience is always at a muted or low frequency. Amy wanted to believe there was more to life than marketing, college educations, and home ownership. Whatever that more is didn’t have to be reduced to sex, booze or drugs. Each of those forms of escape prove to be dead ends. Now, could contemporary society be a “cult”? Is society authoritarian? Is contemporary society manipulative? Do mind-control techniques shape attitudes and practices of members of society? Are conversions and harassment forms of social control? Aren’t all belief systems products of new circumstances?

I expect that they considered cannabis & magic mushrooms to be natural too, it appears their issue was with pharmaceuticals. I found it interesting that her mother said to Dr. Phil that, Amy 'mother god', was not a maternal mother towards her children, even before she left. I think she left when her 3rd child was around two, so I wondered if perhaps she had serious postnatal depression leading to untreated psychosis.
