Awesome review, Mark! Fletcher did an amazing job with this trilogy. It was a fun and dark wild ride. I laughed out loud many times and agree that there is some “grim-heart” in the relationships 🖤. Can’t thank you enough for bringing it on my radar with 2020 Grimmies!

Thank you, I really enjoyed the relationships, even if I was screaming at times lol. It was like watching broken people try to fix one another yet they have no clue.

Glad you're back. Just finished this today, I need to read the rest of Fletchers works. There was one aspect I wasn't a huge fan of in this book but I loved everything else

I thought the third book was the weakest of the series, but I enjoyed and read through all three very quickly after discovering the series. Can't place exactly what I didn't like as much about EoS but it was an entertaining conclusion. Excited for what's to come in the larger universe of the series, especially from a potential fresh perspective, a story from multiple character perspectives would be great.

Greetings sir! Glad you have returned! I just ordered a few books you talked up. I thought to suggest a series I just re-read that you may like: The Godless World trilogy by Brian Ruckley. It's grimdark with Scottish-like thanes and tribes, savage elves, and a weird physically weak, but psychically strong bad guy. You should check it out!

I just finished the other night (I was up until 3 am 😆). It was great exploration of struggle, identity, and morality. And picking up Elric this week too, I could totally see this occurring in some corner of Moorcock's multiverse. There was a shoutout to a character from Elric too. And for the Fletcherverse crossover, was it a certain badass in the sequence the cover art depicted? Well Beyond Redemption is up next, so maybe I'll figure it out on my own.

Thanks for continuing to post reviews. Which book should I read if I want to start from the beginning of "Fletcher-verse"?
@slowlyred20822 жыл бұрын
Personally I would go Beyond Redemption. But Black Stone Heart is a really good place to start

This series was my first Fletcher read. Loved it. I'm gonna need some direction though on the source of this Easter egg, you have me intrigued. Which book/books should I read to find that?
@slowlyred2082 Жыл бұрын
Read Manifest Delusions by Fletcher. Beyond Redemption and The Mirror's Truth

I was gonna read it anyway now, I have to. Is the style of writing similar to beyond redemption? Great review.
@slowlyred20822 жыл бұрын
It's more streamlined than beyond redemption. Honestly I think anyone can pick it up and consume it fairly easy.

This is on my list , i ve heard alot of negatives but their complaints seem kinda sad. Im really interested in chiniese weapons , armour , and war tacticts and its a setting not often used in fantasy. I really think people try or want to catagorise things to much like grimdark especsially the term is getting quite annoying and its reletively new to me . I just read my first abercrombie book which was fantasic but i dont think it was anymore "grim dark then the other fantasy books ive read like forgotten relms books and few others. Peole are obsessed with labeling and they should tone that down about . Like i watched a jay kristoff interview and he wqs like what is a grim dark . He thought it was silly.

I just finished the book a few days ago loved it! After I read She Dreams in Blood I read Smoke and Stone and immediately made a connection in my mind with Smoking Mirror. I'm embarrassed to admit I did not notice the cameo character in this new book though. Is it someone from Manifest Delusions? Or perhaps a character in the 2nd City of Sacrifice book? (Which i have not yet read). Either way, great review. Thank you for spreading the Fletcher gospel 🔥

You'll find them in Manifest Delusions 😉
