Make this simple tee and you will not regret it, this tee will be like having an extra pair of hands on site. I have been using a tee for plaster boarding all through my career, In this video I show you how easy and quick it is to make

The lad who showed me this when i started out called it a "dead man" back when we used slab nails. Great video rob your apprentice is lucky to have you teaching him

Nice new Hilti circular saw, perks of the job huh! After your Hilti video I had a look at moving my kit over to that platform, 165m Saw, battery, charger, case...£1000, yeah no thanks, think I'll stick to my Makita set up and buy a new one every 3 years.!

Even blindfolded Robin would mark that at 45 degrees! Now the wife is watching the new series celebrity jungle, he is needed more than ever!

It’s a ‘deadman’ for certain! Started doing these as a child, last ceilings were 3.2m so I made two…sling the board up on one, wedge it, pull over the second, check alignments and bang bang.

I made one of these when putting up heavy fireproof plasterboard in my garage on my own. Half way through it stopped working, I'd forgotten about the run off of the garage floor. 😳

Watching Robyn checking the ceiling height twice was good humour - I would have been shocked if there was anymore than a single millimetre variance on the ceiling he framed...As usual this was a great video!

The ceiling maybe perfectly level but theres no guarantee the floor is so its always necessary to check in more than one place.

I had exactly the same thought: “What are the chances Robin’s ceiling is not dead flat?”

I can gurantee there is more than a mm difference here and there due to timber sizes and bows in the timber. Even top guys like Robin will have to accept that unless you want to pass all your joists through the table saw

It’s a deadman and it’s actually better without the brace, especially when working on your own. With the brace on it you have to get it exactly right when you pull it up. Without it, it’s just as effective but easier to use. Trust me.

Thats probably a word that would be picked up by KZfaq so I have to refer to as a tee!! But your 100 percent right we do indeed call it that

acoustic plasterboard I would use on a flat roof as the sound goes right through the osb and insulation and you hear the rain. I found this out after I did mine. It's defining when it's a heavy rain And that's with 175mm of celotex in the roof.

That’s misleading. Once you can’t rest this jig against something then it’s useless. You have 2 blokes there on a 2400 long sheet… that’s enough after 4/5 screws with a collated screw gun.
