"The Lighthouse is one of the better Cartoon Network films. Right up there with Johnny Bravo Goes To Bollywood." That's certainly true, but I would argue that Johnny Bravo is more subtle and substantive with it's Promethian symbolism. Bravo being a titanic being who's endlessly punished for his hubris. The Lighthouse on the other hand can beat you over the head with it, especially towards the end. But that might have been a smart move however, since Johnny Bravo was always intended for a slightly more mature audience than the Lighthouse.

I want @Jacob Wilson's post to be more things than in sanely can be. My mind sickly demands that there coexist within it a degree of intellectually poetic abandon (shitpost) that we use to call out to an unsympathetic existence and equally uncompromising peers to get them to console or laud us. But juxtapositively my mind demands that there exist within it a nuanced perspective of fundamental universal truth(s). A truth the magnitude of which shatters the efforts at delivery into what seems like "shitpost" despite its sincerety and validity. My mind demands both these things but cannot reconcile them along its current veins of logic. I suppose that's what the gentleman is lamenting, really. That does it I will be trying a more candied approach to expand my understanding.
@dome29194 жыл бұрын
Cynical as it sounds to ask... A resistance to what: Order? Time? Complexity? Deceit? Denial of duality? There is no shortage of hands to oppose all things. But they slave for too many different causes. Candied minds see sweetness and cause and worth and fights-worth-fighting. But rarely do enough of them see and commit an masse to the same ones, which is the advantage which the new order carries over them. Semper eadem, what's right (subjectively anyway) falls to what works. I have been searching for a way out and around @jacob Wilson. But, semper eadem, cages within cages. Revolution and resistance are commodities sold to you by those who learned to bend logic, both candied and structured, to their ends.

The reason I didn't like this and Courage The Cowardly Dog as a kid was because of how creepy some of tge episodes get. Not just the weird hyper realistic snapshots, but some episodes were just disturbing in and of themselves. I vaguely remember an episode where they were at a school or something trying to prove they could take care of themselves. They had to get stars or something to get candy or something and they couldn't do it and the whole thing felt more and more like you were watching them starve to death the further the episode progressed.

As a child I was terrified of Courage the cowardly dog when it started airing. As a middle schooler and high school I stayed as far from Flapjack as possible. I wanted no part of that nightmare acid trip. This video has reignited all that nightmare fuel. Also, I'm really upset at how well these two things tied together.

Two years later this is still the stand out video on this channel for me, for some reason.
