When you were talking about timers I'd like to talk about the fact that i genuinely think that MTGO >>>> Real Life due to timers, is really boring for competitive players to lose or to draw due to slowness of one of the two, and i'd 100% click every single time "ok" for every "unethical triggers" instead of simply draw or lose due to time. I'm approaching pauper since a month now, but I notice that the format is way slower than every other format, which is ok, but also very dangerous for some games. That works for every format of course, that's why MTGO timers > Real Life ones

I used to play MTGO and I've lost to time, won to time and have won with 0:00 left on the timer. As in any game you play to whatever advantage you have. If you played MODO you wouldn't think timing someone out was scummy.

Our pauper gathering is every other thursday, and I keep getting paired with the orzhov blade player and I struggle A LOT in that match up, any advice ?

Yeah i can see it being a tough matchup. I guess you ll win by sticking monarch and then kill their creatures

this deck is great in certain metas, took it to locals and got bodied by a mono w heroic player with the 0/4 centaur on turn 1. There’s no good way to kill it with red!

Have you tried siding in some bounce spells? That could be a pretty big blowout if there's already some auras on the Trailblazer, especially if you have a counterspell to follow it up.

@@LS-ud7do yes that’s essentially the only answer available, however it’s not as if MWH can’t play around it with protection, also playing card disadvantage in a control deck feels terrible. If you’re hellbent on playing the deck it’s what you’ll have to do to even have a chance in the matchup, I just chose to switch decks!

Mengu u have thought me to use brainstorm at last possible moment to see more cards. However u did it at the opponent's turn instead of after the draw step. As a result u got brainstorm locked 😢
