He thinks AI and robotics are going to essentially destroy this country and his solution is a tax that will allow people to barely feed themselves or have to double up to survive. As a capitalist he can't imagine regulations that would stifle the growth of the industry or actual redistribution of the wealth from the tech companies. It's a pretty small amount he would be taxing them compared to what he could tax them. He predicts America being a 3rd world country because of the AI/robotics revolution we're going to experience and it will make life worse. A democratic socialist would either try to stifle it or would tax them at a much higher rate so that Americans can still have a good qualify of life after this happens.

Idk 1000 a month doesnt seem like much, you still cant afford rent alone with just that. You still end up stuck with a shitty full time low wage job to pay rent but dont make enough to save.
