I’m a Scot, but I’ve never rated him as a player, and when he does things like this I’m just lost for words. How does he think he can get away with this kind of stuff with all the cameras around nowadays? Just plain stupidity, nothing more than that!

I disagree, he’s the kinda thug that Scotland need, a player that will go out and batter the living day lights out of anybody and stand up for his team mates. I agree that it is often over the top and results in sanction, but can’t fault him as a genuinely good rugby player who has competed consistently at a high level

@@jmcn34 they've got Ritchie who does that and by and large legally, plus is at times world class on the turnover. The most annoying one for me was the gesturing to the ref after he pulled down his opposite in the line out. I can't stand this behavior. Clearly illegal, very dangerous, yet somehow in his mind alls fair. Scotland better off with Ritchie and the mullet man

@@canadiancontent352 would never say Ritchie or Watson are ‘thugs’ nor behave like them, they’re very sensible players. Granted they’re excellent players on the flank, but Wilson with his ball carrying capabilities at 8 and his entire persona goes hand in hand in my opinion. However I do think he is past it, was in his prime in 2015-2018 and will be a shame that he may not get his 50th cap, but as someone who has watched him for as long as he’s been at Glasgow, I can say that he has been more of an asset than an inconvenience

While I love someone who can rile the opposition and get under their skin, like Maro, I think you have to be a decent player first if you want to do it at international or even Pro14 level. I can’t recall him doing anything of any note in any game I’ve seen... I just remember the tunnel and eye poke incidents against England.

This stuff is tame. Only thing is the yellow cards can obvs cost you. Wilson has contributed much to famous wins over England that please us Scots the most. Yes it's sometimes dangerous which is going from the game but the mental side can win you matches.

Just reminded me about Rob Karney taking out hogg and only getting a yellow, it swung the momentum. Even Nigel owens makes bad decisions.

The commentators were so biased in that game. You can hear the commentator say that Kearney kicks the physio which didn’t happen ( I watched the game)

Im a Scot and I think Wilson is a great player. Average players don't get picked for Scotland or for any national team for that matter. He is not a thug either. Great for Glasgow too!

Most of these commentators in the comments have never played rugby. They watch from the warmth of their own home and never know most of what really goes on. Their opinions are worthless hot air deserving of the dustbin.
