@@chrismartin6370 I was about to say the same thing. Also, Rock and Roll HOF is such a misnomer because there are bands/artists of many genres included, it's not that I don't think those other genre's don't deserve recognition, but you aren't gonna put Wayne Gretzky in the NFL HOF...

That surprises me and yet it really doesn't. I agree the Hall is a joke and has very little credibility when it comes to not putting in top tier groups like Bad Co and Grand Funk. I bet if you could name all of the top bands in rock history, half or more wouldn't be in the Hall, but a whole bunch of folks nobody ever heard of are.

Yes! Grad in ‘80, so entire 70s was my time and still my favorites decade of music (I do listen to some current music, live OneRepublic for example), but if you look at my playlist, tho it covers all decades, 70s music is probably 70% of it.

My recording engineer worked with Paul Rogers. He said that Rogers would come into the studio, sing a song once, be on key and leave in 45 minutes. He had perfect pitch

How can you not love a band that has Paul Rogers? This is a killer song! the band is so tight and punchy. Vocals are perfectly blended not over the top or out of line with the rest of the band. Everytime you think the song is going to wind down, the drums kick you in the head or the guitar screams.

Swan Song didn't release many albums by other artists. Besides Bad Co. there was Detective. Another heavy band worth seeking out.

Paul Rogers is a genius and before Bad Company he was with the group Free. This masterpiece came out in April 1975 and the memories still are fixed in my mind. Paul always believed that most human beings go through the whole gamut of emotions from one day to the next, or even in the same hour. This song he said didn't come from the head, somehow, it came from the heart. Thanks guys for featuring this song.

So glad you guys liked it that much. I didn't think you would. Pleasantly surprised. This came out in 1975!, the year I became a teenager. Paul Rodgers has a great rock voice but can go soft as well. Bad Company's self-titled song is a great bit of gritty storytelling.

I must have listened to this song over a thousand times in my lifetime and I would not voluntarily play it anywhere at anytime. It's hard to find a band with a deeper library of absolutely quality songs than Bad Co. I'm glad to see A & A recognize the talent of the band. On the horizon, "Simple Man", "Rock n Roll Fantasy", "Seagull" and many more. I think these really show off Paul Rodgers range, as if the previous songs had not already done that.

I think the guitar was supposed to be like making love. It started off acoustic and gentle, relaxed and easy but by the end, it's getting busy. It's hitting it and hitting it hard.

I got to see Bad Company, Jamey Johnson, and Lynyrd Skynyrd live in October of 2018, and it was the best concert I've ever been to. Bad company hasn't changed a bit from their studio sound. They sound amazing and their singer has done such an amazing job of taking care of his voice. It's incredible. I have the videos from the concert somewhere on my phone still and listen to them from time to time.

That was a reawakening. This song is great. Classic rock stations played it to death in the 80s, and I voted against it in the poll, thinking "Ugh, not that, again," but 20 years of not hearing it allowed me to actually hear it as if for the first time. And there's much more delicacy in the drums and bass than 16 year old me ever noticed. Nice nice very nice.

I was so shocked when you said "S". I grew up in the 70's so of course it's a hell yes for an S for me but for some reason I thought both of you would rate it an "A". So happy I was wrong! I saw Bad Company live about 3 years ago & I gotta tell you Paul Rodgers has aged very very well! 😍 Still a hottie & his voice is still amazing. Great band to see live. If you like feel like making love then give a listen to Ready for Love next!
