@@xeyex You obviously aren't a fan of TPB. Bubbles is the smartest guy in the park. He's just eccentric, not a moron. There's a big difference. He's the heart and soul and really the brains of the show. He's always trying to talk the boys out of their stupid ideas, but always gets talked into it himself because he wants to have friends so badly. He's just an outcast because of the way he looks. He's actually the most intelligent character on the show.

Anthem! Anthem! Anthem! When we bought the second Rush LP in 1975, "Fly By Night," the first song we heard that alerted us to an advancement in the band's sound, was Anthem (which I had heard during their show in St. Louis four months earlier).

This a thousand times. To this day one of my favorite Rush songs. The vocals here are unprecedented. I had never heard anybody sing like this before. This is a banger with soaring vocals, screaming guitars and dynamic drumming. Geddy stated he actually hated Rush (Their album) because he felt it was immature now that he looks back on it and it wasn't as mature as he wanted but I think a lot of that was because of the direction the music companies were pushing at the time for what they wanted and expected the songs to only be #1 hits.

Fun fact: Rush laid down all the instrumental track and with the crazy bass lines of Geddy Lee. He said he played the best and hardest he could. As he listened to the playback he exclaimed, "Crap! When we play this live, I've got to sing AND play bass!" Yes, guys, "Fly By Night" is the first album in which The Professor appears. It is also his first foray into lyric writing. Love early Rush -- love Rush, period, but I definitely enjoy their early garage-band type material... as a music-loving teenager in the '80s, I fell in love with this song for the bass alone, and then throw in the crazy time signatures, fantastic guitar tone and Geddy's voice -- great stuff, great memories.
