It’s amazing how every manager that experiences working in Tottenham says the same thing. Terrible club mentality, accepting failure, looking at rivals rather than their own situation. Ange has a lot of work to do to win trophies at that club.

A mate of mine works for Premier League, when he was a pundit for BT Sports and they were travelling abroad, Owen came up to him on the plane and wanted to share a taxi with my mate when they got there cos he didn’t know how to get to the hotel or book a taxi. Then on the way home he wanted my mate to help him book his cases into the airport as he didn’t know how to do it. He is the most clueless person you’ve ever met because he spent his entire formativeyears having every single thing done for him by PAs nd the football clubs he played for. Now he’s out in the wild he hasn’t a clue. BT used to book him into economy class too on flights lol.

I believe he was talking about the culture at and around the club. So many spurs fans were happy to give up a push to get into the champions league just because of their rivalry with Arsenal. So many fans wanted to see their own team lose, and i guess that what he has misread, he must have believed that it was just a silly vocal minority, and not half of the fan base. Coming from a neutral here.

Ange did not grow up as a Spurs fan. He’s welcome to believe this is a winners mentality. Spurs fans have meanwhile watched their team qualify multiple times for 4th while failing to win trophies. So why on earth would Spurs fans trade another meaningless 4th place for Arsenal to win the title? He needs to focus on ensuring his team don’t phone it in playing sh*t against the likes of Fulham/Brighton/Chelsea/Newcastle/Liverpool/Arsenal and put them in this position next season. Maybe do better in the cups too (2 first round exits this season).

For Ange to react like that, something must have gone on behind the scenes. I'm willing to bet some of the rhetoric from the fans filtered down to the players, staff and possibly upstairs, and the narrative around the club in the last 48 hrs turned into "win against city is a more sackable offence than 1 win in 6 games".

I have been following Ange for over 20 years now and enjoy the journey with him as he hops from Club to Club bringing success wherever he goes. Strictly speaking Ange would have preferred to start in the Premier League at a lesser Club than Spurs to give him more time and experience to acclimatise at this level. When the Offer came from Spurs he couldn't pass it up so he entered in at the deep end from the word GO . I think under the circumstances he has held up really well in his 1st year. However under Ange,s own standard he has under achieved this year. Ange is a Fighter and a Spartan. Spartans only know Victory or Death. It's a shame Kane didn't stay at Spurs, he may have made a big difference to the outcome this year. Look at the Fiasco he ended up in at Bayern this year. They have grossly under performed after hastily sacking Oliver Khan who was still acclimatising in his new position there. Regardless of what has transpired so far Ange,s second year at any new club is his BIG ONE ! You can be sure he will pull out all stops imaginable at Spurs with an Iron Will. Winning the Title will be his goal. Anything less than that will be unacceptable. It's going to be an exciting year for Spurs next season.Ange will be relentless to achieve for Spurs.

There's a lot of people on social media saying he doesn't get the rivalry with Arsenal. He's been in his professional career for 30 years. He gets rivalry, but he doesn't get it escalating to the point the so called fans would cheer against their own team and object to them winning. That's not a winning mentality and that's not what gets the team to a winning position. It goes against his philosopy and what he stands for and now he realises the club's values are not entirely in alignment with his. However, know ing Ange, he probably won't give in to this kind of mediocrity and will take on the challenge to change things while he's at the club. But some of these so called fans, who are probably fully grown adults need to grow up and stop the stupidity going on about the ancient rivalry with Arsenal, then go find a manager that cares and see how well they fair. We just want a manager who can produce a team that can play good football, plain simple. You can have all the bragging rights and beat Arsenal, and lose against all the other teams, but that's not a winning team. That's not the team I want, that's not what represents the big club that the players, the manager or the staff want to be a part of. And I say this as a fan and want nothing more but the club to succeed and win against the teams at the top flight of the league.

These teams have better players and they have been playing really well lately, they are just in good form at the moment (Arsenal, City, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Chelsea). Premier league has the dumbest mainstream football pundits in all of Europes top leagues 😭…how is that a “head scratch” when the it is just obvious that it’s the culture/mindset of both the fans and players 🚮💀

It's embarrassing . last night Ange was clearly having a dispute with some fans over them not encouraging our players. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. We still had a decent chance of C.L. football next season. Which is needed to attract top players. It's toxic fans with toxic feeble minded followers like the self styled Tottenham Rabbi, Lee Wilder . Facebook. who the club only allowed back in recently , Some who encourages his followers to do toxic stuff, like cheering on city. More hateful over London rivals than Loving Spurs.

As a spurs fan, I agree 100% with Ange. Living in Arsenals shadow if all we care about is them, and not winning. Will never win a trophy if that is our attitude.

Conti said the same when leaving, its not good. They say a fish rots from the head but losing 5 from 6 is not good either. They need a top striker to replace kane no target man. Defensively the high line is easy pickings for any top opposing coach

The fans were more interested in shafting Arsenal than trying to keep their Champions League hopes alive. This is why Tottenham will never be considered a major club. It's a small club mentality. More focused on what their rival is doing than on ensuring their own success.

Fan mentality is if a trophy is not going to come, the next best thing is that your nearest rivals fall…he’s been part of the old firm in Glasgow so I’m surprised he’s surprised by that but maybe it’s because at Celtic he was never without a trophy or the most amount of them hence never saw it from the Rangers perspective…I’m just guessing but that’s what it appears. He’s a great coach so I wish him all the best

Maybe if he had stopped playing so kamikaze all the time, and stopped the zonal marking at set pieces sooner rather than after conceding 9 goals, we wouldn’t have been in a position where if we win tonight we gift our greatest rivals the title.

As a tottenham fan, this is what i have seen: No leadership, Son is very soft, softer than harry kane, No proper striker who can make a dribble and take a shot team plays well only if everyhting goes okay, in difficult moments, they never show grit lack of commitment and communication on pitch. Son, Hojbjerg, emerson, bentacur needs to go. Johnson is never a starter need players like Chiesa, Vlahovic who wants to score goals, someone like Lautaro, Barella, Griezmann with a vision Young talents like olise, Eze, Raphinha who are creative. Improve Set piece defending, get some good wingers and striker Thats all.

Wrighty your short sighted. I honestly beileive that if that was Arteta in the same situation, he would have reacted the same both towards the players and fans. They had a chance of champions league football only to think it was more of an achievement to stop Arsenal winning the league. That is not a winners mentality.

It's okay Spurs are not the only club who do this. I heard some Aston Villa fans say that they were glad they lost to Man City in the last game of 2021/22, cos they didn't want Liverpool to win the title. Apart from City, none of the other clubs have a winning mentality. They're all happy to see City stop their enemies from winning the league. City on the other hand have a huge winning mentality. They're hell bent on winning many more premier league titles, so they can overtake Man U asap. So it's now a rubbish league... only City wanting to win and all other 19 teams are happy to do nothing. Unless you're keen to see City win the premier league for 10 years in a row, you're better off watching a different league for enjoyment.

Can’t believe these pundits have no clue what and he talking about when it’s so obviously about the spurs fans (and maybe spurs player subtly) cheering on city when they scored against us and not cheering us on in the end when we needed to get the equaliser and win the match. It definitely contributed to us not being able to win this match. Ange is is referring to our small club mentality where we focus on petty rivalry rather than the greater good and doing our best every time to contend for a championship.

As much as I don’t like Tottenham, I feel like every other club’s fans would feel similarly in that position. People like to pretend football fans differ much between teams but they really don’t. At the end of the day they’re mostly English and culturally enjoy seeing others lose more than winning themselves. Happens in the cricket as well.
