Not only was she a killer she was a coward. To go after a child who had no way to defend itself is another level of disgusting. In a way calling her a killer seems to glorify her, it gives the image of a dark evil pressence when in reality she was so weak her victims had to be sick babies.

She craved attention, which, in the worst way possible, she's gotten. Those little kids deserve to be remembered, not the woman who should never have been in a position to harm them

By the way “Angel of Death” is a term used for those who kill people to put them out of their misery; for example, a nurse who deliberately kills someone with terminal cancer. So it’s not a nickname for her; it’s a term for a type of killer.

As a nurse myself, this is unimaginable. We are meant to heal. Our motto is "do no harm". And to harm babies on top of all of this?? Unbelievable. It makes me sick to my stomach..

I was born in the hospital where she committed these heinous crimes about 5 years after the time of her killings. Growing up in Grantham, everyone knew or knew of a family she'd directly affected. To think that sort of thing can happen right on your doorstep is horrific, truly the worst crimes that town ever saw.

I come back to this documentary every so often (I probably have another comment in there somewhere) but the doctor and the nurse interviews get me every single time. The looks in their eyes and the tones in their voices as they recall the babies coding just breaks my heart. The amount of trauma this evil woman caused goes way beyond just the kids' families.

That doctor, the Indian man, is going to feel guilty for his entire life over this. I can see & feel his pain just in his eyes and voice when speaking about this.

I live in grantham where this happened and my younger sister was in that ward only a few weeks before the first murder took place. I get so upset to think that could've been my sister, so I can only imagine the parents pain. Sick twisted human being.

I was in hospital late last year with my six weeks old baby with bacterial infection. We stayed for a week as inpatient. One night a nurse comes in to the room when we were sleeping and starts examining my baby. I wasn’t sleeping but what struck me was that she seemed to be examining baby in the dark. I quickly got up and switched on the light. It might have been nothing but I just wanted to be sure and not play safe. You never know these days

When my sister, who I consider my kid, as I raised her, went into hospital with sepsis, I refused to leave. They tried to get me to go home overnight. I would not. I was polite about it, but I stayed there overnight. Right next to her bedside: listening to an audiobook on headphones, and crocheting a scarf. I was glad I did, because when she had a heat fit, there was hardly anyone on the entire ward. I was the one who got that sorted. She went up to 39.4 C. They missed her medication times. So I just gave her the anti depressants that she normally had at night. Again, that was not well received, but it had been two hours past her dose time, and no one had seen to it. You see, the more "critical" cases are seen to first. Which is fair, but my sister had sepsis, which to me is quite critical. So, I just stayed all night, and half the day. My family came to relieve me for that half day, then I'd be back for the night shift again. I did that for 5 days. My sister is autistic, and wheelchair bound. Any time a nurse came to take her readings she would freak out: she didnt really know what was going on in her fever. She is not normally violent but with so much going on, my poor sister was hardly even coherent. I ended up taking the vitals. She kept trying to rip out her IV line. So I would calm her down until she went back to sleep. If she looked uncomfortable, too hot or too cold, I adjusted her clothing, put a fan on, moistened her neck and thighs etc. After the first night, the nurses were glad for me being there. I helped them by bringing water and such to other patients. Keeping an eye on people's breathing or how they were sleeping between the regular night checks the nurses did. I became very fond of the others on the ward, I really cared about them all for those five days. Anything that they wanted I'd get, if my sister didn't need me. It's just something told me deep down in my gut that I needed to be there. They would have needed to call the police to get me out. I wanted to know what meds they were giving her, and when. But I didn't do it because I thought they would mistreat my sister, or be neglectful. I did trust them. But I just could not leave. Even going down to the cafe for some coffee was worrisome to me. I had never been that way before, I am normally very easy going, and don't make a fuss. That night, though, I was like a flipping Valkyrie, no one could have gotten me to stop. It was like my entire world and being was just focused on my sick sister. My mother told me the next day that those were strong maternal feelings, and not to worry. I was relieved, I thought I'd gone a bit nuts. In the end, she was released home. I took care of her for the next 6 months. She made a full recovery. The hospital did a great job getting the sepsis under control, but it was touch and go for a bit. I thanked them all profusely when she was fit to leave, I'd gotten them some food or biscuits from the shops downstairs whilst I was there. I wanted them to know how incredibly greatful I was to them for saving my sister's life.

What's sick is she was allowed in the ambulance with the child. She was so sinister that she wanted to make sure her victims died.

This is exactly why I would never leave my children unattended anywhere, even in a hospital. Never let your guard down when it comes to your children! Bless these little innocent victims 🙏

It's very strange that each and every time the child who died was in Beverly's care and that she was not immediately suspected.

If she didn't think she was doing something incredibly wrong, she sure went through a lot of effort to COVER UP her actions, which shows she KNEW they were wrong. She waited to be alone to do everything she did. She stole keys. Secretly dosed when backs were turned. Made excuses. Told fake stories her whole life. She KNEW it was wrong

It's even more sickening that she's smiling in the pictures of her getting arrested, she really couldn't care less. I can't even imagine how Becky and Katie's parents felt, they thought Beverly saved Katie and asked her to be her god mother and then they find out she was the one who caused her brain damage.

We need to start making documentaries and emphasizing more the victims than the serial killers… Most of the killers crave & seek for this attention. teenagers/kids watching this could look at this as a way to become famous. We tend to remember the serial killers but we rarely talk about the victims and they are the ones deserving all our time, also their families.

I have a special needs son and have countless stay at hospitals for surgeries, emergencies, sickness, etc. and I always stay and sleep in his room and if I leave I always make sure one of us either my mom or husband is there with him. I also ask nurses and read every meds they put and make sure i have copy of the medication they have given and plan of care. i even take pics, talk to drs and nurses all the time. This is so awful these poor babies :-(

Don't give a toss that she had an illness. If she did this to my baby, I'd make it my life mission to get my hands on her. Poor innocent little babies, killed by someone in a position of trust. I don't understand how nobody made the connection though.. If it happens once or twice, fine, but if people all of a sudden keep dropping dead every time she's around, wouldn't at least SOMEONE has stopped to think "Hey, wait a minute! Something isn't adding up here"? And I don't care if they're understaffed, they need to do proper background checks and evaluations on anyone tasked to take care of people in such an enviroment.. I don't remember where it was, but I remember hearing something about a paramedic who had a background of assault (I believe sexual assault as well), with time spent in jail who was hired without any background checks.. Long story short; that didn't end well.. I feel like the hospitals definitely hold some responsibility here for not properly controlling who it is they are hiring.

I’m a recovering alcoholic and I’d love to work for the NHS. How she got through is beyond me.. it scares me. If it was my job I’d be showing compassion nonstop and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable. NHS staff aren’t just staff or workers.. they are heroes! They have saved me and as are the Paramedics because they do care. To make babies go through this.. I just can’t. It makes my stomache churn

This scenario is occurring again in the UK - at the Countess of Chester hospital in Chester. In 2020 a nurse is being investigated for the deaths of 8 children and the near deaths of 10 more!

People who fake illness are the reason that people with rare illnesses can’t get medical help because they’re accused of attention seeking. It took 9 years to figure out that the bones at the top of my spine are dislocating and crushing my brainstem. I just turned 30 and have lived in bed for almost a decade being yelled at by over 70 drs that I’m a liar and a manipulator. Now I’m finally getting neurosurgery but the diagnosis was so delayed that I will likely have permanent brain damage. I have so much anger toward drs but it’s really people like this nurse who are to blame.

My son was a "happy wheezer" too. Even when his lungs weren't functioning great,he still ran around and played, I'd have to make him relax. On our trips to the hospital, they would give him albuterol and steroids and he'd back to normal. I can't imagine taking my bouncing,energetic boy for care and leaving without him esp bcuz of some attention seeking, depraved psycho decided she wanted to take his life. This whole story is infuriating.

A sick, compulsive need for attention doesn’t explain Allitt’s actions when she was living with other nurses during training (placing feces in various places throughout the living space), nor her actions when living with her friend (poisoning the family, trying to kill the brother with insulin). Yes, she had a compulsive need for attention but, frankly, she enjoyed killing and always wanted to be present so she could watch her victims go into medical distress. The difference between her and Elizabeth Wettlaufer, a Canadian nurse killer, was that Wettlaufer confessed her actions, explained what led to them (in terms of her mental state at the time) and seemed to have a level of remorse. Allitt did none of these. She is a true sociopathic murderer.

Is anyone else incredibly angry that so many children had to die, or be nearly killed, all in the presence of ONE nurse for them to get the hint? I'd have been suspicious after the 2nd occurence, and certain after a 3rd. Everyone has a level of sociopathy in them, and a large majority use positions of power to exert it over others for their own benefit or pleasure. Never, ever underestimate or 100% trust anyone. Not women, not children, not frail old men. No one.

I work in a pediatric ER in the states. It BAFFLES me when parents want to leave their kids in the room to go outside or go home really quick or go get food. I would never leave my child alone in the ER under the supervision of a stranger who has 4 other patients. You wouldn’t leave your child alone in the grocery store or the mall. Makes no sense.

Wait, each year of high school, my son has to complete 189 days EACH YEAR. But this PEDIATRIC nurse needed 190 something days to become licensed and she missed 160 days!?? I'm sorry, I could probably pass the nursing exam without school too, doesn't mean I should be a nurse. Understaffing is a sorry Azz excuse for this to happen, and even worse allowed her to be there in the 1st place. I'm sick , literally nauseous. Parents bringing them to hospital, putting their babies in "safe hands"...omfg.

It's baffling to me that nobody realized that the first time Paul's blood was tested, the insulin value maxed out due to bad calibration and didn't reflect the actual value! That is complete negligence! How can you test samples without knowing the specs and settings of your tool? They could've saved so many of these kids if they had realized what was happening sooner...

The consultant was so upset he obviously trusted her to do her job, as he said if you can not trust your colleagues in the healthcare setting the whole system will collapse. In my opinion pre employment psychological evaluation is needed for all healthcare professionals.
