It's so funny. One sees this young and sweet child walk into the recording studio and it makes a person wonder how she could ever pull off this Screaming Jay Hawkins powerful tune. And then, with the first note, we realize that this is no ordinary child. This is a fire-eating dragon who has come to record a song that will be gifted to the ages. This is the first song I ever heard from Angelina and I simply did not believe it. I thought it was a child who had an amazing talent to lip-sync some talented adult. To prove it, I watched some more of her videos, and (no one warned me) that this is all that it would take to put me on an incredible journey that had only one possible outcome - to be a fan for life.

I had the same thought about the musicians. I imagine them going home after their day with this young lady, and their wives asking "How was your day?" and they reply, "Unbelievable... just unbelievable." These musicians affectionately refer to Angelina as "The Boss", because she knows exactly what she wants. You saw at the beginning where she was making changes to the arrangement and the producer looking at it and smiling. He said later in an interview that she was very polite, and referred to the changes as "her wishes". She is the prodigy that many have said she is.

She's been singing it on big stages since age 8 and used a dozen varying arrangements. Quincy Jones invited her to sing the original arrangement on his 80th birthday gala in London O2 arena with the who is who of the music industry listening in the audience.

Absolutely the best performance by any child ever on any song! - Period. Actually, I seriously doubt if any adult can match it. No adult can generate the raw emotion of a 9 year old who has lived for decades! She came from the planet "Talent" where everyone has some kind of super ability. She lived on the same street as Dimash and around the corner from Tiger Woods. She came in a rocket wrapped in a blanket which her family made into the outfit she wore on AGT, with the leftovers making the mask in the "The Show Must Go On" video.

It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video).
