Great reaction 🙂 Yes, surreal is what often times comes to mind when listening to Angelina, regardless of age tbh. She was just 11 days shy of her 11th birthday here, but of course that doesn't detract anything whatsoever. IMO Angelina is something much more rare than a generational talent, which many tend to say, I don't really think a singer like her comes around more than once per century at best. Btw, if you saw the thumbnail in the bottom right corner, it belongs to a documentary that released only 3 days ago. The documentary is produced by her mother, Sara Astar, and is called "Angelina Jordan - 10 Years In The Making". I wouldn't mind at all if you "skipped the line" and reacted to that one, because it will teach you a LOT about her, not only as an artist, but also as a human being. You will understand even better why her fan base is so incredibly dedicated, as if she was family. Angelina's musical journey is like a fairy tale come to life. Her message of kindness and love is as sincere and as real as it gets. The smallest act of kindness can have a huge positive impact.

That is Angelina's own full-time band plus a guest string section. She had been working with them for about 2 years at this point. There are many reasons why Angelina is so good. A full-time band is one of them, not to subtract from her combination of talents even a tiny bit. When that band was hired, they were wondering why they would be paired with a child until they learned who she was. She had become a household name in Norway after winning Norway's Got Talent at age 8. She also was declared a Nation Treasure. Angelina has always arranged her own music and retains that ability in her contract with Republic Records. English is her third language of 4. Her multi-ethnic background has had a tremendous effect on who she is.

Thank you for another great reaction to Angelina. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world, and there are thousands of others who would agree with me. Every moment you spend featuring her on your channel will being you great emotional satisfaction. There are so many things I get from this performance. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice. (2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move. (3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus. (4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance. (5) That wonderful crescendo at the end. (6) The was Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance (7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand. (8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 3.07 in your reaction video. (9) The sideways look and grin she gives to her instrumentalists just after she curtsies to the audience -- as if to say, "Yeah, we killed it, guys! Now let's go get some ice cream!" (10) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child, who curtseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause. Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

There are no 7 year olds out there that, on her own re-interpreted some of the most iconic yet forgotten or even never heard of Jazz masterpieces and re-mastered them. You can train a child to a point but the emotional depth she has and the things we can’t explain, are what changes us. She changes you inside and that no one talks about! It’s very confusing to watch for that reason. What we can’t see (Like light) blocks us from understanding what is reality.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZfaq. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZfaq went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. Thank you for your Angelina reactions yes by 10 there was not really any child voice but there never was a typical child voice, this is an amazing performance by professional artist, this was her arrangement as well and my favourite version of this song by anyone ever at 10yrs old. There have been many child singers but not with the maturity of Angelina and the vocal and musical skills, She has given her heart and soul to music since she was a tot and an incredible work ethic, but to her it is what she loves most so I can't image she would consider it work , Her family have made shore she had a balanced child hood, she is unique and a beautiful loving soul as well, she also has a huge very loyal fan base who adore her.💜👣💎

I'm sure I've heard this one more than 100 times, and I still marvel at how mature she sounds, and how masterfully she sings this. As good as she was before turning 10, she really "leveled up" that year, losing the last (obvious) vestiges of "childishness" in her voice, and turning in several _incredible_ performances of various kinds, from professionally produced TV appearances like this one to audio-only recordings that wouldn't see the light of day until years later (posted to her Fanclub Mosarz channel here on YT starting in 2019). Just for the record, AFAICT (based on articles and press releases published at the time), this was not only "recorded live", it was actually _broadcast_ live. _The Stream Gir Tilbake_ [The Stream Gives Back] was a TV special benefitting Plan Norway (the Norwegian branch of Plan International), spun off from a regular TV series called _The Stream_ , which was a combination online/TV singing competition (hence the use of the term "stream" - that alluded to the online aspect of the show). The special consisted of a combination of pretaped field pieces about Plan Norway's work and live performances.

It's such an amazing performance, so surreal, that it seems ridiculous, for the other singers I mean. I don't think anyone would dare to cover this song after listening to this girl who wasn't even 11 years old yet.

We are so blessed to be able to experience her, she so deserves it, I have been following her for 4 years when I found her on AGT The Campions. Now I have to listen to it every day, it's part of my daily routine. For me she is like a healthy drug that my mind cries out for. She's 18 now and still getting better live, she's a superpower.
