Anglia ITV 1988 (Mock)

I am not aware that Anglia used this as a start-up, but it is an extended version of their flag ident music.

In March 1988, Anglia ITV went for a rebranding by 'retiring' the knight and horse fora flag ident, presumably to create a more modern feel to the channel. Since the musical sequence only lasts a minute, I have made a short video of the easgtern and western parts of the region.

I have used a slightly different version of the ident music for a softer sound.

I wish Anglia tv was still on air instead of the national ITV Brand, they could of use this interlude clip as their start up as what TVS Television South done in 80's, But unfortunely regional ITV as we know it will never return as Television dying out in favour of online tv.

Anglia Television 📺 is the east of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. The place Anglia is large so it’s called great 😊 Anglia. I have been to east Anglia in September 2003 is nearly 20 previous years ago this September. I have watched Anglia Television 📺 on ITV. Great 😊 Yarmouth is in east Anglia. 👍👍👍

Excellent work reflecting both the East and West of the Anglia Region In fact Anglia reaches a very small part of Leicestershire in Market Harborough as Transmissions from Sandy Heath which serves the western half of the Anglia region serves that part too!

Sandy Heath is a very powerful transmitter. I was in Stanton village in the Peak District during a period of atmospherics, and the transmitter popped up on my channel listings very clearly. So, it gets around. Many thanks for your very kind comment concerning the video. Like TVS I just felt that I had to do a little more than just a wavy flag routine. Best wishes, Nigel

The Sandy Heath transmitter is in Bedfordshire and therefore Anglia Television is relayed to Northampton and Milton Keynes.

I believe this is better used as an extended Logo’s theme than a startup. Like when they have a minute so they could play that theme. Besides, I believe Startups were becoming less and less present around this time.

Hi M L. I decided to do the same with Anglia as I did with TVS with a small video. I wanted to do something different as the others have already posted the music with the extended logo. By 1988, startups were all but extinct and I'm not at all sure that Anglia used this as such. The rebrand cost £500k. Best wishes, Nigel.
