Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef or chicken
For meatballs:
1 cup finely chopped onions
3/4 cup chopped coriander
Salt to taste
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
Combine all the above ingredients with the ground beef/ chicken. Mix well and roll into medium sized balls.
For curry:
2 medium sized onions, 2 green chillies, 1 tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp ginger all blended into a puree
2 medium sized tomatoes blended into a puree
1 bay leaf
3 green cardamoms
1 black cardamom
4 cloves
3 inch piece cinnamon stick
3 heaped tsp coriander powder
2.5 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
Directions:
1) Take a medium sized pan and add 3 tbsp of oil on medium heat.
2) Add whole spices and fry for 15 seconds.
3) Add onion puree and fry for 5 minutes.
4) Add other dry spices and fry for another 5 minutes.
5) Add tomato puree and fry for few more minutes.
6) Drop in meat balls slowly and swirl pot around gently taking care not to break the balls.
7) Cook on medium heat for about 35 minutes.
8) Garnish with freshly chopped coriander.
Enjoy with steamed white rice or coconut rice ( I will cover that in another video)
