Adam sander has hotel Transylvania (okay its for kids but it’s a pretty fun kids movie) Will Farrell had the LEGO movie. So it can be done. Just give them a good script with a fun character and they can pull through. Providing they want to. I’m more worried about Jim Carey. He seems to have had a break down and quit movies for the moment to make paintings. I hope he recovers and finds a second wind for making good comedy.

If you just reskinned the other guys to make it Sherlock and Watson while changing the characters a bit it would have been much better.. to try and make Watson a goofball in a Sherlock movie is just so dumb. I've always found that movie to be overrated as fuck, watched it 3 times because I was trying to see if I had missed anything, but no. Really couldn't get into it. Mostly due to Will Ferrell being an unfunny cunt most of the time. The only funny part of the movie is when you see Will has a smoking hot wife that a guy like him should never ever be with, and Whalbergs reaction to it.

And also Anchorman, Anchorman 2, and Talladega Nights.

There is a scene where it seems they did and its f-in hilarious.

I was thinking the exact same thing at that point. It wouldve been an unexpected turn to the movie that would make it better. Also if they dropped the accents half way through the movie almost to acknowledge the joke of the bad movie up until that point.

The moment I found out it was a comedy, I knew it was going to be a disservice to the source material.
