I think the best movie that actually did a good uncharted vibe is the: 2011 the adventures of Tintin. That movie is really underrated, I would definitely watch it if you guys want a uncharted kinda movie.

The funniest (and saddest) part is that the best Uncharted movie was that fan-made short film featuring Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake. That short film captured more of what makes Uncharted fun than... the Uncharted movie.

I personally believe Sully got the worst of it. He doesn’t even get referred to as Victor "GODDAMN" Sullivan once. -Chloe backstabs literally EVERYONE in this film. Holy shit was she abysmal, all because she has "trust issues" from when she was like fucking 10 years old. -Navarro was far from a good villain in the game, but they strapped a fucking eyepatch on him? Really? -Sam is really the only accurate character. Didn't dig the facial hair, though. -Not once does Elena get mentioned. Not even a freaking REFERENCE.

When I first saw the trailer, I knew it would be a flop. I've played all 4 games. Casting is terrible. They ripped Sully's mustache off, slapped it on Mark Wahlberg's face and called it a day. Tom Holland by no means can pull off Nathan Drake. No sequels, end this now.

Took my 9 yr old to see it, as I was eye rolling at the over the top play on physics, my son turned to me and said “this is the best movie ever!” I realized this isn’t for me, it’s for 9 year old me 😉

The intro was actually done really well and stays true to the games, where you’ll get a crazy scene played through and then you get back to it later on in more detail, with it going back in time after the intro for the build up, very similar to uncharted 2 with the train, they did a lot better with this movie than you think, I’ve played all the games multiple times and I have to say I really enjoyed to movie - the casting for Nate and Sully wasn’t the best, Chloe was played decent; she even sounds similar to the games, overall I think it deserves above average even though it has its flaws

I think Tom Holland would be great in a "Teen Wolf" remake, he's just too young for this role, same with Marky Mark. If you're gonna slap the Uncharted name on it you need to cast actors faithful to the source material. The Uncharted name is used to attract fans of the game, so give them the characters they know.

I have not watched the film or the review yet, but I had to say I find it hilarious that the thumbnail is Joe being a fanboy with Alex holding his head in his hands and OJ having the most calm frown that I have ever seen.

I get that these people are greedy and have trust issues, but if this treasure was worth tens of billions like Marky Mark claimed, why would they betray each other when even a 10% share still makes you a billionaire and nets you more money than you could spend in a thousand lifetimes. I'm ok with Tom Holland being a younger Nathan Drake but why the fuck did they cast Mark Whackberg as Sully? I could not imagine a worse actor for that role. And why the fuck does the relationship between nate and sully feel so toxic? Sully is supposed to be a mentor for nate but nobody in the right mind would want to get mentored by that shitshow of a character. He just comes off as an unlikable douche who only cares for himself.

I think it’s a better format like this when you guys do final verdict early that way you’re not spoiling too much of the movie. Because even in your non-spoiler sections sometimes you guys give away too much. Also you only put a number for you joe on the screen. You should include the numbers for the other two as well when you flash it on the screen. IMO

I fucking love the Uncharted franchise. I’ve played the four games, plus Lost Legacy, plus the two on the Vita, many many times. I have platinumed all 5 games, then bought the Nathan Drake collection and platinumed them all again, lol. I really really like this franchise, but when I heard that they were making a film out of it…and then when I heard who they had casted (especially Marky Mark as Sully. I mean c’mon🤦🏼‍♂️), I knew that it was going to be terrible, and it looks like I was right. Damn🤷🏼‍♂️

After seeing Nathan Filion's fan film i couldnt see anyone else play the role, Hell Nolan North would've made a better sully than Mark. Just weird choices all around

I think I have figured out the flaw in my theory and MatPat's theory. Gregory is William Afton and Burntrap is Michael Afton. William found Michael knowing that he and his family were in Fnaf World, Fnaf Pizzeria Simulator and Fnaf Ultimate Custom Night. He wasn’t burning in h3ll. He was alone and lost in the real world. But his body have changed over time. Security Breach was supposed to have no endings at all so early in the game. But that is where the endings comes in, so that we stay lost in the game for a really long time. We've been playing it backwards this entire time. But to back my own theory up, Michael Afton was the one that had gone mad and used his father's creation to reject his father because he felt neglected. And it was all because he felt like he was loved less than Evan. So, the ending was happy for William Afton, Cassidy and Evan and not Michael Afton. But that wasn't supposed to be the TRUE ending like many thought it would be. William Afton being Gregory would make sense because over the years he have been the night guard of his own place the entire time looking for Michael Afton. Michael Afton is the other child that left home. But get this, Michael saw the death of Cassidy in person as Evan was given birth. And because Evan is the youngest, William had to "care for Evan Afton" which led to Michael killing Evan in 1983. This is a revenge story. To get William to be alone like how Michael was alone. But it was a revenge that Michael took too far for William. But it meant Michael being the better father than William when William for the longest was weeping for the lost of his entire family. Cassidy is an Afton who I believe to be the wife of William who he mourned after seeing his wife die in the hospital. And let it be known that Evan died in a hospital years after Cassidy. And then it was Michael and William that was left. And because William was felt heart broken twice no... three times, because he lost his only son in the family, that he lost the will to cry further and the will to be afraid. This game is an awareness to mental health as it is a revenge story for Michael Afton. MY GOODNESS SCOTT CAWTHON! You have out done yourself! You've done your part. Now we have to be the ones to fit the pieces back together again. I knew the theme was about family ever since I have seen many gameplays of Fnaf Security Breach. But the entire Fnaf timeline?! I am lost with words. And my goodness. We did Steel Wool Studios so WRONG! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I HATE THESE EMOJIS!!!!! None of them can express the sadness that I feel right now. We need William Afton, Evan and Cassidy to find Michael Afton another way! We can't let it end until ALL Aftons and Emily's are a family again. My goodness Scott Cawthon. What have we done?

I feel like the movie would've carried a lot more impact if it was as much about the treasure as finding Samuel Drake. If they'd establish Sam and Nate's childhood more. Picture this, Sully finally opens up to Nate about his partnership with Sam. He and Sam were partners in crime, they got a lead, Sam betrays Sully, and got away with the lead. He's been trying to find another one ever since and found Nate just in time for a heist (they met in a meaningful event that started the dynamic between these characters). Sully worked with Nate and once he found out that he was a Drake same as Sam, Sully wanted to get the treasure for himself and then screw Nate over since his brother did the same to him. This all changed when they eventually developed their relationship to be mentor-student instead of just partner thieves. Eventually, they get to the treasure and Sully finds a skeleton there. The skeleton is wearing a blue shirt and a pair o jeans with something in it's hands. Nate sees Sully and goes closer to take a look. Sully holds Nate back but Nate insists and finds it clutching a photograph of Sam and Nate while they were still kids. That is the fate of Samuel Drake. Maybe you could insert a note where he apologized to Sully and Nate or some writing on the wall saying something like "I did it, Nate. We got our ticket." or smth. Imagine how gut-wrenching it would be for the audience, Sully, and especially Nate. It would be a great twist on the original Uncharted's story and add organic drama into the story. It would also remind everyone how dangerous this job is and the consequences that go with it.

Never played Uncharted but even I can see that Hollywood did its own thing. I never would have imagined TH as Nathan Drake.

I agree with Alex; you put that name Uncharted there and you create expectations especially from us who played all 4 games. My friends said it wasn't bad if you distance yourself from the game....and me and my girl can't. Prolly why it was sub par for us, pity.

I mean the structure of this movie is pretty uncharted feeling. It pretty much hits all the beats of the game. With the stinger cold open in the plane (U2), flashback to childhood with Sam and nuns (U4), heist auction scene (U4), obligatory adventure scenes with traps, betrayals and back stabbing then over the top action set piece to finish it off. Narratively it hits all the beats. I mean it's not really a good movie but it's fine as a popcorn flick.

Every movie version of games gets the same thing wrong every time. When you play a game, especially a game with a strong narrative, YOU are personally experiencing the events, reacting to the tension, personally earning the rewards and solving the mystery etc etc. For uncharted you become Drake, you move drake, you are jumping and running and shooting and so his sense of wonder and reward is your sense of wonder and reward. You build your relationship with the game world viscerally and physically over hours and hours. A movie is 1.5-3 hours long (at most) you cannot develop the same level of investment in the people and the story if you try to take from a 10 hour long game narrative and copy and paste into a 2 hour film. Movies will also take popular game events (which uncharted has overtly) paste them into the movie as if that is what we love most. The reason the clock tower and car chase in Thief's End works so well is A) you have half a game of build up to get here, there's tension and stakes B) YOU ARE CONTROLLING IT AND EXPERIENCING IT putting things like the plane in 5 minutes in miss, entirely, why it is enjoyable to have this in the game. "Watching this is far less engaging than playing it" This 1000% A movie is not a game and must develop its narrative and characters in an utterly distinct and different way or all movie adaptations will suck

These guys are way too hard on the show. They complain about how ridiculous some of the stuff that happens in this movie and even say it went "off the rails". Like seriously, have you played the games!? They complain about not enough character interactions and development like its not a two hour movie as opposed to a 4 long ass games. This movie felt like an uncharted adventure with all the glorious shlock that comes with it.

Tom Holland is like Michael J Fox, he can do certain roles that need a young person, the casting is so wrong here.

I the only one who kinda enjoyed this movie? I thought i would only see Peter Parker but he played him quite well. Sully wasn’t Sully, but he still had a good arc.

The girl I was with pointed out that this movie’s plot was nearly identical to Treasure Planet, including the end when he was pulling gold out his pockets but that part switched who pulled it out, she then goes, “ it was so close to Treasure Planet I thought they would even close with the same line”
