Anime Boston 2013: Fidelity

There are many reasons why I enjoy watching AMVs. One such reason is how a creator can put a seemingly unknown anime to a point in which the audience would want to watch the anime used immediately after the AMV was over. This AMV did such that. Luckily, I watched the movie a few months prior to Anime Boston and it is by far, an extremely good movie to watch. This AMV did something I don't usually see when it comes to AMVs, it did not portray the anime in a way different from the actual movie. Instead, it embraced it and quite literally stayed true to the movie to the point where the AMV could be considered a musical summary of the entire movie. With all that said, I can quite effectively say that Fidelity is one of the gems at Anime Boston 2013.

Excuse me? What is going on here? Why aren't they all in a puddle of their own tears? Where are the bus boys and ushers handing out tissues? Where is the thundering roar of applause and the shouts of misery, laughter, sobbing and joy? Where?! ...why?... Late response, I know. Some of these do not get the reaction that is expected... or wanted. The issue is, this is a contest and requires the audience to watch 30 AMVs in a row. Also, this is in the voting stage of the contest so the audience really wasn't that relaxed...

+vanthursday Doesn't really make an AMV objectively bad by any means. It's a treat for those who've seen it. However, I saw this AMV before even seeing Wolf Children, and it's what convinced me to go watch the movie, despite any spoilers. Became my favorite film. So really, I have this video and its editor to thank.

Anon21486 That's what I mean, though. For some people, it was a treat to watch after seeing the movie. For others, it can intrigue them to go and watch the movie. Whether someone falls into the former or latter category, I'd say that ability-- to both please fans or intrigue newcomers-- is a sign of a good AMV.

+zweihand That is what I like about AMV, although most will have popular anime, the editors can introduce new anime with their work. Future Diary is one of those animes for me.
