As a human story, I'm just so happy to see that it's possible for a lady to become a mother, and STILL play in the high levels of professional sport, if that's what she wants to do. It's hard to juggle motherhood with everything else that happens in a normal, non-elite level sporting life, let alone what the professional tennis tour demands. What an inspiration she is to other ladies who are thinking about having kids but maybe waiting because of career goals. I love it. And best of all, I can tell my own daughters to not let anything get in the way of starting your own family (also, if THAT'S what people want to do). Thank you, El, for helping to show what is possible.

Very poor sportsmanship of her to refuse a handshake. Blinkova did not invade Ukraine just as Elina did not invade Iraq when her country sent the third largest military contingent to invade that country.

@@davideleone9809 The thing is that most of Russian players haven't approach Ukrainian players even in private rooms, without any witnesses, cameras and microphones. You don't need to be vocal on social media, but you can be still decent, compassionate human - majority of Russian players have chosen silence/indifference. Some of them barely hide their support for Putin and aggression on Ukraine (e.g. Kudermetova).
