In regards to Yoda, to make the duel between him and Palpatine have a bit more impact, I would have had Yoda not need to use a cane in Episode 1 and 2. It's then in _this_ fight that he gets injured in the leg from his fall, and that's why he leaves the fight and explaining his usage of the cane in Empire.

And then he said Dooku wasn't a threat, like Dooku didn't dismember and shit on the chosen one, one shot Obi-Wan and go toe to toe with Yoda 😂😂😂 Now that I think about it, even though Vader's my favorite, everything I just listed was more credible than any of Vader's fights we saw in the OT. Pushing around an elderly OB1 and toying with a barely a padawan Luke. Vader doesn't even fight a full fledged experienced Jedi in their prime in the original trilogy.

To be fair, that's not an issue because it gives you a starting point as opposed to skipping anything. The crawl created the possibility for that movie to be written and explored much more. Obi-Wan beat Vader because he was smarter, not because he was a better fighter.
@zonefreakman

Dooku, one of the most powerful and intelligent Jedi, simply disagrees with the Republic and wants something more efficient. It's easier to be empathetic with his cause and he got together a collaboration of systems to challenge the Republic. Vader who most people views as the most powerful villain in all cinema, has his power merely because Sideous gave it to him. Otherwise he would be a washed out failed Jedi with no influence much like Maul became. Dooku is the boss, he just became slow in his age and lost his hands, and head to an emotional teenager.

Also, how do you think the Prequel defenders felt, huh? After hearing all the hate for George Lucas by people who had no idea what they were talking about, and other people believing what they said, some Prequel defenders got tired of all the nonsense, and nobody even wanted to listen to them. You're just being a hypocrite. First you attack Prequel fans, saying everyone who prefers those movies over the Sequels are 'child idiot's'. Then you claim everyone who doesn't like the Sequels is an idiot, and now you are whining that YOU are tired of the hate?

I will always defend the Buzzdroids; not only is it a tense action scene, that shows us the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan as clear as day (Anakin will risk his life to save his master), but the Buzzdroids themselves are really, REALLY freakin' cool. They're the anti-astromech droid; instead of assisting with navigation and repairs, Buzzdroids entire purpose is to utilize design plans of enemy craft downloaded into their servers to DESTROY as much of an enemy craft as possible. And as the destruction of R4 shows, unless you have an R2-D2 assisting you, you are all but screwed once they latch onto your ship and begin shutting it down. They are an ingenious way of conducting warfare with droids, and show the raw creativity that went into the creation of the Star Wars Prequels. Cosmo can fuck off.

@Adam Wasiura Note I said disingenous, because that's all Cosmonaut's video amounts to - disingenous rhetoric without the ability to form cohesive arguments that are thoroughly debunked in this very video series. Instead of adding to that rhetoric by just repeating "hurr durr prequels are garbage child movies", I advise you make actual arguments to support this and go against Anomaly's arguments within the video rather than saying something completely vapid. Of course, doing so would have required you to have watched the 5 part video series rather than blindly defending someone for bashing the prequels, something that it's apparent you're doing from your empty words. For what elements you can criticise the prequels for, Cosmonaut did an absolutely terrible job by picking the points easiest to debunk and weakening his stance by saying "I don't need to explain this" (because he lacks any original thought).

I was born in the early 80s and knew about Star Wars, but didn't full get into them until the revival in the 90s. But yeah it's funny how the purists forget all the merchandise from the Originals. There are tones of commercials showing some of the ridiculous crap that had the Star Wars brand. (Underoos for example. Thank god my parents never bought that. Talk about a pedo's wet dream there.) Hell there was the Droids cartoon and the Ewoks kids show. It wasn't until Ep.6 Lucas really started marketing them to kids. One of the reasons Han Solo didn't end up dying was because he knew they would hurt toy sales. Did Lucas always kinda sell out? Yeah, but it was his own damn creation he has every right too. And yeah even when he did bank, he still gave a shit about the quality of Star Wars. Disney just turned it into a brand and now the franchise is suffering because they value profit over quality. I just now found out that Mickey Mouse isn't making them money anymore. Which is sadly hilarious given how much Disney has messed with copyright laws because of Mickey.

I only will openly point out that something is there to move merch (obviously it all is!) when it's so egregious and serves literally no plot purpose. Like, it shows up for 15 total seconds and is plotholed into irrelevance, but by gawd you know they have little molds going at the Taiwanese factories as we speak. Good stories and content will move merch all by itself, but Star Wars has gone as nuts as Dragon Ball, introducing bullshit just to sell a few new figures or meme shirts. But at least DB doesn't call you racist or sexist for saying it's a contrivance-riddled dick measuring contest so, there's that small mercy... as of yet😹

Is Cosmonaut not aware that each of Sidious' henchmen are suppose to be facets of Darth Vader? Maul: Silent ferocity Dooku (Tyranus): Disillusionment with the Jedi/Galactic Republic, fallen/seduced Jedi to the dark side Grievous: Someone who has become more machine than man. That doesn't have to change his opinion, but when missing this information it nullifies his arguments of what he believes should've happened. Yes, Please Eh, the fact that Grievous breaths, coughs and has organic eyes is enough to make us understand that Grievous isn’t a droid but a cyborg even if Obi Wan didn’t show us his lungs -_- And you misunderstood me, I’m not saying that Grievous’ existence won’t ease the viewer into accepting Anakin’s transformation. I’m just saying that 1) wether or not it will, considering how easy it should already be given what we saw (extremely advanced science+cybernetic limbs), it’s not really useful, because most of the work is already done by the setting and what happened to Anakin, and 2) wether or not Grievous is more needed than I think it is for the average viewer to understand and accept Anakin’s transformation, I don’t think his goal was to allow us to accept said transformation, but rather merely to foreshadow it and give a good pretext for Obi Wan and Anakin being split up, and Palpatine having to resign from office. And serve as an ultra cool opponent (though honestly I fail to see the « cowardice », and I would’ve preferred if he wasn’t supposed to be, given his legend background and the fact that SW doesn’t need more than one moustache twirling villains. Generally speaking it’s just a matter of taste, I think, but I don’t like villains being degraded like that, I think it lowers the stake and generally, such as in this case, for no good reason).

Similar to Sidious in the fireplace scene, you have almost definitely figured it out by now but just in case here's a huge tell. Also I wasn't insisting that it wasn't feasible given the technology we've seen, it's just people like Cosmonaut who don't think about it enough only to call it a plot hole. Also yes, Grievous has way more purposes than just what I said. Including pacing, foreshadowing, demonstrating the Clones, being a generally compelling character and more. There's also the fact that Grievous is a trap for the Jedi; by serving as a military leader on par with Dooku, by making trophies out of the lightsabers of the Jedi he kills, and by retreating when in defeat to draw the Jedi into a wild goose chase, he serves to distract the Jedi from the real danger in front of them: Darth Sidious. Mace and the Jedi only take action against Sidious AFTER Grievous has been killed and Palpatine and his Grand Army stand victorious, by which point the Jedi are too little, too late.

I too found him incredibly interesting. A Sith who hates the Sith, who practices their knowledge without channeling the Dark Side, and whose true purpose is to ultimately destroy them through political influence. This isn't mentioning Christopher Lee's badassery, and his epic fencing form that is so nicely complimented by his unique lightsaber.

Count Dooku never had Sith eyes. The man was an idealist disillusioned by the Republic and its corruption, and tried to forge what he thought would be a better future through an alternate route. 34:06 Minor correction, but Obi Wan and Yoda weren’t just “chilling out” during the interim between the Prequel Era and the Original Era. At the end of Revenge of the Sith, Yoda says to Obi Wan that Qui-Gon had, effectively, figured out how to maintain one’s consciousness after becoming one with the Force, and that they would be learning it from him. Obi Wan also took on the responsibility of keeping an eye on Luke as he grew up; both because Luke was his best friend’s son, and because he was the son of the Chosen One. Moreover, they were in hiding from an Empire that was actively hunting down not only them, but any Jedi that managed to survive Order 66. Dagobah was an ideal place to hide due to its remoteness, it’s lack of inhabitants, and the Dark Side Cave being strong enough to act as a smoke screen that could conceal Yoda’s presence in the Force. Tattooine was similarly remote and, although inhabited, had huge swathes of inhospitable desert between its few cities. A perfect place for a “strange old hermit” to live undisturbed.

The only part I'd disagree about is "Only a Sith deals in absolutes" being an absolute. In context, Vader is offering Obi-Wan an absolute of join me or die, the same as Dooku did to Obi-Wan or Vader would later do with Luke rather than offering other options or any grey area. Meanwhile, Jedi such as Obi-Wan still consider multiple options when it comes to carrying out a task such as Obi-Wan lecturing Anakin and trying to talk him out of this prior to their duel. So what Obi-Wan said is true, from a certain point of view. As for the Jedi breaking the code about killing, I'd say they stick to it for as much as within reason for the most part. Against Maul, there was nothing else Obi-Wan could attempt in his situation and Windu is consistently characterised as being hypocritical in regard to the Jedi code. There is Yoda's "Destroy the Sith we must" but that was at a time where the Jedi Order had been almost completely destroyed and little option remained.

Legendary work on this mate. So glad someone better than I has done well criticizing the awful logic and arguments for why my favorite Star Wars is terrible. Revenge of the Sith is my favorite Star Wars because it treats morality as part of the ideologies of Jedi and Sith, because if you really think about it, they are religious ideologies that are two sides of a coin that can mirror each other, yet are very different with their principles and way of going about it. Moral greys in wartime is a universal theme that is much more interesting than "Jedi = good", "Sith =evil" or "Republic = good" and "Separatists = evil." Separatism from a flawed, corrupt government isn't a bad thing by itself, real life examples of this are the British exit from the European Union (although this hasn't incited a war) or various civil wars historically. I love that George was doing something to show that, and Revenge of the Sith gave birth to a lot of extra worldbuilding in the years that followed. Fictional politics that say something universal are good, it's just when it's being preached by one ideology and forcing a message or altering the story and writing when politics is awful. It's great sci fi being great sci fi, period. I had to laugh at this idea that Dooku wasn't threatening enough and that other Sith, he is my favorite on-screen Sith Lord out of the movies after Darth Sidious and Vader. Simply because he challenged the idea that a Sith's gotta be evil for the sake of evil. Dooku had goals and ideas even though he used the dark side and Sith methods that were evil, but it wasn't black and white evil. He was in a grey area, and Christopher Lee was one of the finest actors they got in Star Wars. Whoever is next on the Revenge of the prequels list, I look forward to it, and your other content as you go mate! We live in dark times for the genre of sci fi. Basic storytelling is being ignored by hacks in not just Star Wars, but many greats that stood equal to Star Wars.

@@redpillfreedom6692 One could literally make the exact same arguments for their predecessors if we apply the same level of non logic. Darth Vader should have known that the guy known as Ben Kenobi from his home planet must have been Obi Wan. His guys should have blasted the escape pod on principal alone, knowing that droids are indeed a thing. Vader should have used the force to catch Luke when he jumped in the scene on Bespin. Luke should have known that going up against a fully trained Sith lord was suicide. On the Alien side, Dallas should have brought the tracker doohickey with him inside the vents rather than rely on panicky Lambert to guide him. He should have been more wary of letting Ash have full control over the alien as it was a new species they had no idea what it was capable of. They should have had Kain cryogenically frozen or at least put on quarantine even if they thought that the alien was dead and did nothing to him. They should have known better than to let anyone go alone when an unidentified organism known to be able to tear a hole through a human torso was on the loose. Ellen should have known better than to think Ash would do anything besides attack her after she checked the commands on Mu-th-ur that the crew was expendable. All these one can easily point out if they ignore the context and fail to recognize that these characters are just flawed human beings. Although some of these points are still valid despite that, but people often overlook them. Yet they don't do this with their prequels, they make a mountain out of a molehill and a molehill out of flat ground, they expect people to be absolute geniuses no matter their situation and background, they expect them to be as competent as an action hero commando from the 80's, and as smart as a scientist. Among the many criticisms I've seen they often ignore context or expect the characters to be more capable than what they could logically be capable of. Very few of the complaints stood to logic.

Revenge of the Sith was one of the very first PG-13 movie I ever watched. It’s either this or the first Pirates of the Caribbean. RotS is my 3rd favorite Star Wars movie.

Marus says he loves the Clone Wars but most of his gripes with Revenge of the Sith and the other movies are fixed by The Clone Wars, a few examples being, Obi-Wan and Anakin having more "adventures", Anakin's personality change and the Jedi losing their way more and more. It goes on and on.

Also: Yoda & Obi-Wan instantly became the most wanted Imperial fugitives in the galaxy after this film. Had they returned to attack the Sith again, they'd be faced with the smart ends of legions of Stormtrooper blasters. They HAD to go into exile...

31:40 Another instance of just pure hypocrisy This dude was complaining about how Anakin was totally sinister in Ep. II and didn't come off as a good guy

Grievous is also necessary to have a droid general after anakin merks him.

They'll bitch about anakin but ignore how goddamm selfish rey is... forget the plot armor, she is incredibly self centered and not heroic

Every time someone says that this is not how a character should be in star wars its like they forget that this is EP 1,2,3 NOT 4,5,6 TO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ERAS AND TIMES.

People need to learn that a story isn’t god just because the characters work in the way you would. Is a story about people who aren’t you.

You should make a t-shirt of George Lucas' head super imposed onto that classic Kylo Ren shirtless scene.... We all know he has abs under there. We love you George

30:27 Perfection. It's a simple way to sum up Anakin's journey, yet so many are too blinded by irrational hatred to see it.
