Ateez are pirates so this dance is designed to resemble a seaman’s jig. This song has two meanings. First is the literal-written for the fans-telling them to say their name “Ateez” and they will be there. Those little stacks of various papers are name cards, and stuff fans give the members. The story line meaning-Treasure series chronologically is after Fever. So this is after Halateez and Ateez have met and Ateez agreed to help-guys in black are Halateez from the dystopian universe. Ateez told Halateez to call for them if they needed help. Halateez are versions of themselves from the other universe so yes he’s looking at himself in the mirror. In the diaries Yeosang was captured and did not return with Ateez to their universe. I think it is a museum and it is empty because in the world of Halateez all the arts are banned and have been seized by the government to be destroyed. Also, Halateez is a fan made name because Hala Hala is when they dance in the black outfits. In the lore they are called the black pirates. That’s all I know story wise.

The "fedora" is actually a "bolero" hat, but that's not really important LOL. Ateez came out so hard hitting that when you finally see the funnier, softer, and even vulnerable side of them, it presents other facets of them to like and relate to. Their songs are great, but the lyrics, especially in Fever series, encapsulates what many have been feeling these past couple of years. From the beginning, they really wanted to be artists that their fans could look up to for support & encouragement.

An alternate universe--exactly! The museum is empty because the arts are banned in Strictland (the Halateez's world), but you know what's coming because you saw Yunho find the art and uncover it in trailer 2. They hope experiencing art and music will help their people have emotions again, so they will join the revolt against their government.

B side list for when you finish title tracks. Horizon (no MV but a dance practice, lyric video and stages) Utopia (Japanese MV) MAMA 2019 (this is just an amazing performance-there is a dance practice) Not too Late Twilight Rocky (Japanese MV version) Win (stage performance on KQ website) Black Cat Nero Halloween MV (it’s a video of the song they performed for their first immortal songs win) There are others but these are IMO the not to be missed ones. Horizon is probably my favorite B side and the dance is just WOW! Although the narrow KQ practice room makes it look awkward it is the best visual of the dance.

To recommend a guide, I think the best one out there at the moment is 'The Ultimate Guide to Ateez' by ofallthekennys - its quite long but all the best guides are, and it contains a lot of good information about the group and the members. It also has one of the least annoying robot voice overs :)

It's always a pleasure to see your Ateez notifications popping up, now I'll enjoy your reaction but I've already liked because I already know that's gonna be fire. This was their first comeback after the debut, the best is yet to come and one of the songs that will be forever imprinted in your minds is Hala Hala that was teased in this one. Keep up the great work and for the future (ideally after a bunch of MVs) I would recommend you a guide to learn more about the members.

Are you sure you guys don't secretly work for ateez or something? Your analysis of almost everything was, once again, spot on. I feel like you guys know the names and faces already (though separately :) ) but I know you'll get it soon! The next song should be HALA HALA and that's the reason why we say halateez. The name came from when we realized the ones dressed in those all black costumes are different 'versions' of themselves (i'm not sure how much to reveal without giving the whole thing away! I feel like you guys enjoy analyzing these things). and HALA HALA is all about the ones dressed in black, so we call them halateez. At the end, regarding the box. Yes, there was one guy trapped in there, but someone helped get him out. BUT WHEN YOU STARTED TALKING ABOUT SAND/DIRT... I was like... i'm not sure if that's what ateez were going for, but it's a really good connection to sand (desert= pirate king, treasure). I didnt notice until now. They definitely have something about mirrors in their story line (mirrors look like they will feature in their new cb too, seeing their new trailers!). And I think we have deduced that it's not him in the reflection in the black outfit. The deduction about them being in a museum is true though; I believe some, if not all, are supposed to be trapped in a museum. No movement, just being still and being watched. Kind of like they are the statues/busts themselves. But when you call their name (enough times?) they will soon come alive to action. As for the music. I agree! I never have favorite artists because while the people/personality is one part of yourself, but if I don't like the music, chances are I'm not really going to pay attention to them. If that makes sense. I have less than 10 artists/groups that I say are my favorite artists. In all my years, I have never come across a kpop group where I have liked ALL of their MUSIC. bsides and title tracks, but ATEEZ... I was so shocked at how much I liked every song. SO shocked. All their title tracks are different; when you get to the bsides, they sound different for sure, but sometimes they have the same vibe, so it may SOUND slightly similar. I also agree that their music style is a combination of all my favorite music styles, but in ONE group. By the way, the time between the release of Pirate King/Treasure to Say My Name/HALA HALA was only about 3 to 4 months. I like how you pointed out they look more confident in their characters. I never really thought about it, but they definitely do. And I also think they have some of the best flawless transitions between scenes in any mv. I can't wait for HALA HALA, i'm so curious what you will think about that song! It's my favorite ateez song. But also because it was the first song I heard from them.

This emptied out museum is in the dystopian dimension Halateez come from, and it seems that the new comeback (D-9! the first performance preview at 12.00 KST!) is also set in that reality. Ateez are pirates but kind of like, if you took Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, but in the modern times (Peter Pan lore was a part of the Ateez "moodboard", one of Hongjoong's proposed stage names was "Pan"), and made them grow up a bit, then they get a ship and set out on an adventure, sailing and flying across dimensions and dreamscapes - I'm guessing that's what'll happen after they sort out the revolution that seems to be starting in their story right about now.
