Antique "Gilette" Razor Restoration - Brass Polishing | Mister Patina
In this video im restoring an old Razor from Gilette, including the brassbox and the inner textiles. I got this Razor from a friend - thanks to Marvin at this point ;-)
For the razor and the boxing i focused on mirrorpolishing all the brass and steel parts, for the smaller spaces i used a small polishing machine/Dremel.
The Box was in a good condition and (i think) Nickel plated. Because of the condition and the plating, i decided not to polish it in the inner area, because its got the textile inlay.
The Gilette Razor was also in a good condition, it has several heat markings and oxidation. So i decided to also clean and polish the inner parts of the Razor.
In the End i did the final test on my own arm, it works perfectly fine - i expected that, because the Razor Blades were new :-)
For me it was real fun polishing those parts, because of the gold finish. The whole Restoration/Refurbishing didnt take too long, it was just a Quick Restoration with a nice before and after effect.
