This is how normal grown adults debate. People can tell when someone is trying to win the argument by getting loud and aggressive. They’ll say something like “dude how can you be that dumb?” Ok…. Why don’t you explain why it’s so dumb? If it’s obvious, the person should get it once you explain it to them. Patrick is a reasonable man. If he hears something that makes sense, he’s not gonna argue that isn’t right. Yet Antonio couldn’t do that.

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive brain condition that's thought to be caused by repeated blows to the head and repeated episodes of concussion. Yes man THIS! This point right here! Yes! All the God given talent, son of Touchdown Eddie Brown, survives Liberty City Miami, puts in WORK n becomes greatness that's visible to anyone...and then the downfall. He can poof his chest out all he wants, repeat the same cliche inner city struggle (which making it out itself is a worthy accomplishment), but at the end of the day, it's so obvious SOMETHING is not clicking for him inside. He can't take any single criticism or fair question, and just wants to talk over everyone while saying he wants to create dialogue. I just wish he'd understand it's ok to be afraid of shit, it's ok to get help. But, he'd rather call PBD a "suburban kid" (instead of "survivor of war") to diminish Patrick's struggles in comparison to his. Nobody has struggled more n seen more than AB if you ask AB, which is the saddest part of all

2 things I gathered from this clip-- First, football fucked this man's brain up on a level that is hard to comprehend, which is extremely sad and has forever changed how I view the sport. Second, Patrick is a straight up person. He knows when to push and pull and always does so with respect. There is a reason he is successful and I think this entire interview is a testament to that success.

Patience is important. The key to patience is a willingness to learn and to understand rather than defend or compete. Pat clearly wants to gain understanding from his interviews. I think Pat is listening to this man and hearing that there's an issue with his brain from the hits he's taken in his career. Although his demeanor is a bit off-putting, Pat can see that he means no harm and he's a decent guy at heart. The last few sentences is enough proof of that.

@Yezzy540 it just shows where people are at internally. They know this man suffered serious head trauma while playing a sport he loves, to entertain people who enjoy watching, yet they call him out his name, call him classless, and show no empathy for what he's gone through. He's clearly not crazy. His behavior is obviously a side effect of the head trauma. I'm not sure why this sport is still being played. Clearly, people care more about making money than they do about the health of the athletes, and the athletes clearly don't care much for themselves.

This is my assessment here (Pat, correct me of I'm wrong): You can just see Pat being patient and observing how he reacts and wisely deciding what to do. Pat seemed to try to help him face up to what he clearly did and give him a chance to react to that. When he realized that he was set in his mind to be in denial and be stubborn, Pat knew it was time to close it down. He apparently had found out the character of this man and realized there was no need to dig deeper - he had seen all there is to see. I think I learned more about Pat's character than I did AB! You're a wise man, sir. You handled that is manliness, but also class and professionalism. You're a class act. 🐐
