why it is okay to use some safety behaviors at the start of recovery to build momentum and confidence. as you move into the mindset of "non avoidance" you will naturally leave many safety behaviors in the dirt as you progress. One we are moving forward WILLINGLY. Safety behaviors will naturally fall off as you grow in confidence. 💪🏽🧠

Just discovered your channel, my husband has massive adrenaline rushes (we avoid calling them panic attacks) when he sees a new sight and feels overwhelmed. I’m hoping to learn a lot from your videos so I can help him not spiral anymore 😭

Get comfortable in the uncomfortable. Your husband will ok.i went through every sympton known to man derealiszation thought I had schzophrenia thought i was bipolar thought i was dying thought about the nature of reality everthing was scared of my own thoughts..as claire weeks said dont be bluffed by a feeling and dont add secondary fear. Walk towards the fear and on the other side of that feeling is freedom. And dont rush your recovery after a while you will just forget about your anxiety as you go on about life . And you won't even care if it's there or not and eventually it goes beacuse its only power it has over you is fearing the symptons of it .DONT BE BLUFFED BY A FEELING

good info but I think to reach true recover it’s about breaking down the core fear driving the behaviors, and practicing unconditional life acceptance.

Yes unconditional life acceptance is a huge one and extremely valuable it can save us a lot of pain if we can master even a little of it 🙏🏽

Hello! Thank you! I started reading Klaus Bernhardt 's book about anxiety and panic. I read it in French, but I remember the title in English is "The anxiety cure". It's an interesting book. What he thinks about derivation and CBT surprised me. Every professionals say CBT (exposure) is the key, but it's not 100% true. You're right, anxiety isn't the enemy.

It's not 100% true. It's a beautiful form of therapy. But for people stuck in this for years the cognitive part of the " disorder" is almost not the biggest problem it's the avoidance behaviors. And by going into a mindset WILLINGLY moving into "non avoidance" going into the anxiety and the panic you will naturally start to unlock the cognitive issues and see them as non threatening. So it's all about moving forward WILLINGLY Inyo fear. CBT once a week will not do anything for a deeply imbedded "behavioral condition" your behaviors need changing and with that your cognition will naturally change.
