I never learned stoicism, I just adopted parts of it eventually after feeling embarrassed for those who overreacted in public. I’ve literally been hired for a job, because the business owner said I was more “even keeled” than the other applicants. I have used it to defeat depression early on and have been able to help a few others defeat depression. The easiest way to teach it, is using the line in this video about controlling how things effect you, vs worrying about trying to control everything that happens to you. Yes, you must attempt to control the world around you, to survive. But when things beyond our control happen, do not let it break you.

I have to agree with you about the complete "philosophy" statement. However, I would like to state that all the negativity nihilism gets I view as "passive nihilism", where one is ambivalent to everything. On the contrast though what I call "active nihilism", is more closely related to Zen Buddhism, The act of letting things go the act of not caring as much especially about what other people think of you, it requires taking some action, where as "passive nihilism" is when you become stagnant and stuck. The art of not caring has a fine line to it, but if you're doing it as a means of growth and coming from statements like "What other people say about me is none of my business.", it is powerful.

Isn't that a wonderful feeling? To find that the things the 'general public' point out in you as a character flaw, something that they see as something you should change and makes you feel a little bit self aware of being 'different' and not as a quality that sets you apart. This affirmation of my natural way I see and respond to the world, as a quality of charcter that makes me at peace with myself and accepting of the fact that I am different, in a good way. And it's ok if others don't get it.

Man this was truly an incredible presentation and content that has a large amount of insight and wisdom. Well done. It is my goal which I've been working on knowingly to grow and become fully competent in Stoicism by the age of 50 years old but of course continue growing and learning until my last days very end. Even at 47 and lived what seemed 3 lifetimes over the last 7 years which ironically was the first time I truly got to know myself. My awakening at 38 I shall never forget. Part of me wishes to this day I would never have awoken. The other part is hyper aware that I'm super aware and so on. It definitely changes you and you are unable to see life the same way you always had and for me it literally happened overnight. I went to bed my old self and awoke the next morning to a set of silent unsaid unspoken instructions that I answered silently as I sat straight up in my bed but agreed and answered yes to instructions that were never said yet understood. Phenomenal content and it definitely didn't go unnoticed. I think it will take and impact all people different but one thing they will need is to have or be In process of having an awakening and totally and literally seeing thy ego appear to come out and I remember seeing it float away like a balloon but feeling no panic and being at peace. Some really great insight and I'm happy to have watched and listened to your awakening as it's not often I ever hear it spoken and I have tried before to those I know and they look at me as if one of these. I'm crazy. The look at me and their eyes read mass confusion to which I quickly change the subject with and or they will try to understand but I've realized that even if good with words, something's words cannot explain and can only be learned from real life experience. Thanks for sharing!

Most do who in the end struggle to have good intent so man up and spell it rather than look like you need my help with spelling. What you abbreviate does nor won't change my post or will it change the difference between the truth and the one too scared to spell out his bashing he feels the need. Say it. I do not care. Envy is weak so speak your truth instead of abbreviating it. If it's the truth I'll be the first one to retract and apologize. "AUARM"

Whenever I upload a video to KZfaq I expect the worst, to lose a subscriber or not get any views. So when I gain a subscriber or get a couple likes on a video it makes me feel incredible. Everything we experience in life is from the perspective of the mind. Our mind has the power to make us happy or to make us suffer. When it's filled with chaotic, negative thoughts, we suffer. We have to understand that it's our mind working in tandem with the present moment that dictates reality. The quality of one's life depends on the quality of one's thoughts. -Aurelius

We created through collective consciousness. It was our only God (not our creator) moment and why we haven't seen since. 35:05 Doing a psychedelic indused ego death is lige playing that dark childrens game where you get your friend to push down on your lungs while your back is against the wall. When you come up, your friend takes the position. The cop out lies within the trust that the *two entities* share between each other, so that you can "get high" off of the near death experience. - the "buddy" represents the independent variable of you trip objectively being the good or bad variety. - the asphixiation symbolises how horrifying ego death feels like. - and I guess, the children represent how we must all approach boundry defying near death experiences with a heavy dose of humility, as children at heart?

I have to say I really appreciate this video! I can’t even put in words how much but I have to say that I’m about half way into it and I have to coment because two things I just can’t digest and the first is that I don’t know one person who can mold thier self into what they want to be and I feel that humans are intrinsically the same as other life forms but I don’t doubt you know this as no words are perfect. Well those are two things that I wanted to coment on and I also want to say that I’m schizophrenic so my stages and timing as far as where I am is different from most in the sense that others can relate with one another where I can’t go but ultimately we are relating through this video.

Nietzsche was doing what one should when thinking about something. The pros and cons. The positive and negatives. Which will leave one feeling ambivalent. Torn. Stop overthinking and over analyzing. Its putting expectations on things. Most of which, are unrealistic. Kegley's Principle of Change… It is easier to behave your way into new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of behaving. And dude, this was a very broad video. It went into many awesome aspects of the conscience. Bravo💪👏👌 The death of the ego or transcending the ego is something I feel we are all going through right now. It's scary when the veil is lifting. You start to question your sanity. You start to disassociate from the reality or story you have been telling yourself. Detaching from all these attachments is uncomfortable, at the least. You start to see attachment is the root of suffering. And desire. The ego attaches to these material things as a way to give the identity some definition. We dont own these things these things own us. Its only when you lose everything that you can do anything. Forgive me for blowing these comments up but this video had stimulated a brain storm.

I don't particularly follow any philosophy I just go with the flow of life. I expect good and bad things to happen. I don't believe in disregarding any of my emotions and feelings. If I'm happy then I'm happy if I'm sad then I'm sad. If I want to get jump up and down with excitement then I will and if I want to cry and complain then I will. I accept all of who I am and what I experience. I am loner who can be social but I need to be alone alot because at my core that's me.

I fell asleep listening to this video today, June 2nd. 23. Around 1 pm, after dealing with the courthouse 😅. Best sleep of my life since I found avgn. I find myself listening again. I hope to be half as good as diogenes and half as powerful as Marcus. But what I wish for most is for my yin and yang to meet like the way they did

Very insightful video and I just learnt that we don’t control events, but we do control what they mean.
