A thought process on a pattern of things that I like, that seem to have some level of permanent value. After thinking about it for a bit, I realized they all have something in common.

I quite enjoy your reflections. I first found your channel a few weeks ago when I was looking up things about the Canon 5d, and I appreciated your insights about that camera, because it was about how it felt to you, rather than just about the specs and so forth. There is something to the beauty of the things that we enjoy, and as you said it's important that we allow ourselves to enjoy them, too. Sure, part of it is the durability and the craftmanship, but also just seeing something on the wall or on the shelf, and using and holding something that feels good in the hand, that is well-made and well-loved. It reminded me of some of the poems of Pablo Neruda, his Odes to Ordinary Things. Apocalypse proof, indeed. Thank you.

Very well worded. This is another one of those comments that I was referring to, that I love to read.

I could totally relate to this, thanks for sharing! Apart from our obvious shared love of certain modern classic cameras….. The first thing I lusted for and begged my mother to buy was a particular (used) typewriter I had seen when I was a very young child. It was already an antique way back then, and that was many years ago. I could not explain why I truly loved that object. My first briefcase was in my possession even before I left school. Again, I could never explain my love of my briefcases, especially at such an early age. Although we don’t share a love of blades, I would always stop to admire and lust after really well made writing (fountain) pens. Of which I owned a few, again from a young age. I have a small collection of music albums (which are special to me) on vinyl records, which to me are objects of desire. There are more examples. And finally, everytime I watch one of your videos I lust after that beautiful bureau behind you. Weird. Even though I am a fully paid up member of the digital age, worked in tech for many years, and take advantage of all the conveniences of the modern world, there are just some things, of a certain quality, from a certain age, that still fascinate and appeal to me. I found it fascinating to hear your own take and it made me remember a lot of things I had long forgotten and made me think a lot about what it is about me that as a person that was/is triggered by certain objects. And yes, I love to print my photos. To me, an image only becomes a photo once it exists in physical form! Cheers.

It sounds like me and you could a great time walking the isles of an antique store or a flea market. Likely even just sitting and talking over coffee.

I've always enjoyed your videos on Total gym, but find your other videos very watchable, your outlook on life is fascinating.

Wow, I didn't expect any of the old Total Gym crowd to watch these videos. I appreciate the kind words.

thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing brother. I resonate with a lot of what you said. also your channel is a breath of fresh air to the mainstream KZfaq stuff. it's similar to a podcast. I can throw it on and get stuff done around the house or be doing some work in the yard. we don't need all the flashy stuff, more likely to make you stress and burn out anyway.... by the way if you have the time I'd really appreciate a video about the EM5 Mark II and Olympus color science. there's already a good amount but I appreciate your perspective. Not that it matters or that i need another camera but it was very close to being my first camera like 10 years ago. I ended up going with a Panasonic g85 but ive always been attracted to that camera and always wonder about it.

I will definitely do a video about that camera at some point. It's one of my all time favorites. I appreciate the supportive words, as well. I have now been looking at my screen for about 5 minutes, trying to think of what else to type to elaborate on that appreciation without sounding goofy or sarcastic. The right words aren't coming to mind, at the moment. But, I genuinely do appreciate it.

There is one thing I really want for my Olympus em 10 mark 3 and that is to be able to use it silently in manual mode. By the way, it was interesting to hear that you are interested in medicine, so I suggest you research the science of homeopathy. I use it myself in certain situations and it is really different from currently accepted medicine.

Thank you sharing for your thoughts. Really like your point of views. And nevermind posting longer videos, it feels like when you read a good book, you want it to be longer not shorter. :-)

I do, yes. Probably a few times a year. I find myself shooting Lomo 800 or Kodak Vision3 250D, most often.
