I think what the book is referring to when Jolteon can fight off a Cryogonal is there was this episode in the Unova anime where we meet a character who has a rescue squad of the Eeveelutions, and during that episode they had to help out a dam that got frozen by a bunch of Cryogonal because one of their buddies got stuck, and I think the Jolteon fought one off. If so, that's a really obscure reference.

Okay if Flareon fur is as soft and fluffy as the book claims it is, does that mean it would attract all kinds of dust? Am I the only one picturing a fire-colored dust ball now?

Lockstin's voice for his skull friend at least, sounds exactly like Voltorb from the anime, it is most noticeable in the Pokémon Puzzle League game. You may never unhear it.

Umbreon can absolutely learn Psychic. TMs, TRs, move tutors, you name it. It's decent for surprising Fighting-types. Not great, though. Trust me, I've tried to make it work.

Semi-related fun fact: Old English poetry was more about alliteration than rhyming (read Beowulf), and all vowels were considered alliterative of one another. So Umbreon is Incredible and Eevee is Awesome work perfectly well!

I remember hearing a semi-valid reason for there not being more eeveelutions is the remaining types arent an "element" I still wish they'd just add all the types anyway. Hell they could even make Eevee evolve with the Everstone to "Eeveon" basically saying the Everstone stabilized its genetics so it doesnt evolve to another type (giving it boosted stats for being evolved and access to some good normal moves and perhaps some more type coverages)

Actually, yeah, Umbreon can learn Psychic. It just has to do so via TM/TR, or be tutored. I also think the Ice type's symbol in that book is supposed to be ice crystals.

I just looked it up, and apparently Umbreon CAN learn Psychic, just not naturally. It learns it by TR/TM, specifically TR11 in SwSh, TM29 in Gens 2-7 and BDSP, and it can learn it by move tutor in PLA.

I would honestly be content if Nintendo made the new Gen have Eevee have it's own region variant as dragon and the evolves into the physical counterparts. Thoughts before video: Types I think we can eliminate for eevee (F-tier) are Bug, Dragon, and possibly flying, since it would either have to add limbs or change species. You COULD have a wingless flying-eeveelution, but it'd be a lot harder to explain how its an adaptation. Jolteon and Flareon have electric and flame pouches respectively, and that's common for that world. For a flying type, almost all of them have wings or a wing-like structure, even rayquaza has those dual fins on its body segmants that are wing-like. Also, rayray is a legendary pokemon that can break rules. Steel is a possibility, but it would probably require a new item made, unless they keep the metal coat a "use" item instead of trade item. Either way, it'd put it at D-tier for plausibility. Also, doesn't do anything for type-coverage offensively, but is good defensively. Also hard to make a pet-pokemon with a full plate of armor. Ghost eevee probably isn't likely (another F-Tier), since an eevee straight up dying isn't very kid-friendly. Also, how would dying be an evolutionary advantage? To say ghostly powers rather than an actual undead would probably also be unlikely, since ghostly powers in pokemon usually cause the pokemon to be psychic/ghost or just psychic. Ghost-Type more describes the physical aspects of the pokemon, rather than its supernatural abilities. Rock and Ground are in the same area of high D to low C. The only benefit to those typings would be hitting electric types effectively. Every existing eeveelution can hit every type super effectively with STAB, except normal and electric. Adding rock wouldn't change that bug ground would get rid of electric. I'd say ground is more likely than rock for this reason, but it's still not likely from a design aspect. Eeveelutions are supposed to be very design-wise from eevee, but still at least 1 shared trait. A ground type couldn't be brown so it'd have to be gravel grey (this goes for rock-type too). A grey eeveelution rocky among all the bright round ones would look too out of place. A rock-type design wise may be better because it could just have skin as hard as rock and be like a sphinx cat, but the eeveelutions are supposed to be fluffy, and that's not. Although it'd be an fresh representation, possibly for an egyption pokemon region. A fighting eeveelution I think is b-tier likely, since it becomes its one and only weakness. However, game freak has been more reserved on giving pokemon the fighting type, especially since for a while there have been fighting-type related complaints and every game there are people that rant about certain pokemon not being fighting types. There are plenty of great designs and thematics, and it is supereffective on normal types, although with that in mind, it may have the "you became the very thing you swore to destroy" for it and eevee. It overcame its fighting weakness to cause it. Hoenstly, that take isn't half-bad imo. Lastly, poison. Are you gonna make a properly fluffy poison type? What does the poison type do for the eeveelution type coverage? Why would it evolve poison instead of any of its other types. Poison isn't good offensively, not very good defensively. There isn't any good rhyme or reason for it, and most designs are recolors, aren't fluffy and pet-like, or add limbs which I don't think is what gamefreak is going for. Overall, some of my favorite fan-eeveelution designs are dragon, bug, and steel types. I just don't think gamefreak would realsitically do them or add a new eevee in general unless they add a 19th type like sound, which as seen by fans, is a reskin of the normal type. Thoughts after video: I overthought all this too hard.

I am now an eevee expert

I personally like Vaporeon a lot due to me liking sea creature like designs, and Vaporeon is the closest to a sea monster in design compared to the other eveelutions. I also like Jolteon and Umbreon's design too. Although tbh I like all of their designs as they are pretty unique in design from each other and just always thought the multiple evolution thing from adaptation was pretty rad. Even if it doesn't seem likely, I do hope for them to add more to Eevee's list of possible evolutions. I might try making designs for some of the unused types, I already did ghost type in response to Austin saying ghost type eevee doesn't sound cute or sound like it could be, so I took it as a challenge because of course I did and I created Phasmeon, it was a fun doodle in flipaclip that I edited in ibispaint. I kinda thought that maybe what would cause that evolution to occur would be in a near death scenario sort of deal, like your eevee gets really sick, and or hurt, and doesn't seem like they'd make it, but having a strong enough bond would then make your eevee be determined enough to get through it, giving them the strength to evolve, effectively saving its own life so it could stay with its trainer. Which in turn meant the trainer helped in saving their pokémon too.

I personally think we don't need another Eeveelution anymore. They already feel complete as is, and there are other Mons that need attention. Plus I already completed my Eeveelutions plushies collection, ya know.

Okay, it might be some "junk food" content, but Lockstin was hilarious in this.

Umbreon does actually learn psychic, though...just only by TM. It's not something umbreon is really known for in...well...any context, really, though. It's good for coverage against fighting and poison types, but not really a noteworthy trait, especially since you probably want snarl or dark pulse (or maybe bite?) as your directly damaging move instead (since that has a chance to flinch or lower stats depending on which move you use). Or maybe flamethrower (or was it fire blast?) to handle steel and bug types. Like, out of everything umbreon is really good at or known for, using psychic isn't really one of those things. Especially not when there's Espeon, who *is* known for using psychic. They could have picked umbreon's massive durability (iirc the best out of the eeveelutions period), or its connection to the moon, or its ability to heal. Maybe throw in some stuff about endurance or it being a good guardian at night or about how it's spooky but actually really nice or *anything* relating to its actual distinct traits instead of...something done better by its daytime counterpart.
