Apple announced the new Apple Vision Pro a little over a month ago. I had the opportunity to try it out personally for about 30-40 minutes at that time. In my initial video, I tried to answer some of your questions. However, there is still more that I want to cover in this video, along with some new information about Apple's future mixed reality headset.

I think this is going to be the new norm. I do have with future updates. They are able to have the vision pros link together so if you’re with someone else watching a movie or collaborating with a colleague on a project, you will be able to link up and pair the vision pros together, so you can see the same room from a different perspective.

If I connect the apple vision pro to a mac, will I be able to have multiple desktops or even better, have the same view as the apps running on the device itself? (Each open application its own window) Do you know anything about that?

One of the execs mentioned the travel mode on Gruber's Talk Show after the reveal, FYI. There's actually a lot of interesting stuff about the headset that Apple has put out that most folks aren't talking about. On that podcast for sure, but also in the developer docs. You can find a lot of good insight into what they're plotting for the platform there - someone should make a vid about it!

Was the 3D video of the birthday party 180 3D or just 3D with a frame like a movie? Haven’t seen this addressed anywhere.

Another integration that should happen is to have the new AirPods Max headphones, which are due for an update anyway, be able to be put right into the headset strap, so they become part of the headset. The speakers that emit sound from slits on the side of the headset aren't going to cut it while watching movies, despite the "spatial audio trickery". It's also isn't private while on an airplane, or your own living room. The people in the neighboring seats in an airplane would appreciate it. I'm sure it can be done with the regular AirPods, but with a $3500 headset, people would want to use the Maxes.

If I’m spending $4000 on a stupid headset, you wouldn’t catch me ded wearing some cheap $500 pair of headphones. Im wearing my 1300 dollar iems with these, way better than over-ears.

Have you used the audio on the Quest 2's? Honestly not bad - there's obviously lacking low end, but clarity is definitely there. Loudness needs to be worked on, as well as noise bleeding to others around you - but it's not bad. I'd imagine Apple's version is going to be absolutely amazing. But only time will tell.

Has apple said anything about multi-user capability? Are extra batteries going to be available and for how much? Did you mean 360° video and pictures, instead of 3D? There is a difference...

I don't wear glasses EXCEPT I will sometime wear reading glasses (1.5X) for looking at my phone or using a laptop for a long time. I cannot find anything online that address non-prescription reading glasses. Is the virtual display and depth far enough that readers are not needed? I watch TV and go about my day fine without glasses... just for close up reading. Any thoughts?

Dan can you explain the difference from having multiple monitors and multiple apps spread out? I have heard that VP only allows one Mac monitor to be displayed but you can also spread multiple apps in separate floating windows in the room. Does that achieve the same thing as multiple monitors or is there still a benefit to have multiple monitors compared to windowed apps floating around the room in front of you?

I guess the apps are native on VP, while whatever runs on the Mac has to be rendered inside a Mac "display" on VP. So you can't just open 10 Mac apps, whatever Mac app you open has to be in the virtual display. I'd love 2-3 Mac displays in parallel, or the possibility to open Mac apps like VP apps.

Probably yes, if other headset can withstand an intense beatsaber session which comes with a lot of sweating, i dont think this one will be different.

I doubt you want to do that with this generation. I think it will be many more cycles before you will have something that can be used outside for every day use. However, I definitely see a day in which VR eyewear will overtake smartphones.

I’ve been saying for a while now that once smart phones have the capability of taking video natively in VR that will be a game changer. Since these first generations are so optimized per user, I can’t see a family of four spending $15,000 for each person to have one. To me this first generation is really a beta for what will come out in 2026. Apple is not really focus on sales at the moment but in feedback.

I think that's a really good point, and I think that's Apple's aim - to get product reviews and customer response on the product, because that will likely drive the pathway to a polished Vision Pro as time goes on, much like what we've seen with many of the rest of Apple's product lines.

I agree we should begin to see Vision Pro features incorporated within future iPhones. Maybe the iPhone 16 will have an ability to capture 3D photos. I own an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I now use the panoramic photo feature as I build a library for future use with Vision Pro.

3D recording via iPhone is a bad idea. People will get sick while watching these 3D. You have to level to the horizon for 3D. This will be no problem recording via headset.

In the vision pro announcement Apple did say “vision pro is apples FIRST 3d camera” it’s for sure going to be included in a pro model iPhone in the future!

This thing actually looks fucking awesome. Watching movies on a Mac feels good, this would be kind of insane! Don’t think I’ll buy it due to price & beta testing, but maybe a second or third iteration I would consider heavily. The 2 hour battery life though is the biggest reason I’m not willing yet.

I want the vision pro without the burden of having to own an iPhone. If I don't need a mac or an iPhone I'm all in. Make it work with a Windows PC or Android phone. (Which is what majority of people use.)

I agree this is the 1st generation of this headset. They are only going to make a small amount of them. Future generations will be smaller and lighter. Eventually they will be Apple eyewear devices that will partner will leading eyewear manufacturers like Ray-band, Oakley, etc. that will replace your primary set of glasses.

I don’t think it’s going to sellout first day due to pricing. Most people are struggling to pay bills and VR still hasn’t left an impression a lot of people. Who knows though, I could be wrong.

There was a follow up report that it’s likely going to be less than 150,000 units. Considering that there are 125,000,000 Apple users in the US alone and that if only 0.1% of them want to buy an AVP it will sell out immediately.

I like the appointment only and maybe only one unit per person as well cuts out on bots buying up all the stock so they can resell it at higher cost, so in presale you go get fitted or whatever and then they ship the device to your residence , I’ll buy it because I’m just a lover of new tech from different companies yes it’s more expensive then most but I’ve seen people effortlessly spend 100 dollars on Starbucks or other coffe a week roughly 14 dollars a day or200 dollars a week on marijuana , recreationally over the course of a year is much more then this device

Are you skipping those details in a purpose? Image blinking, visible pixels, blur? Any UI shaking/misalignment with objects during movement? Is eye lens distance alignment automatic, comfortable? Can others hear internal audio?

I recently started getting into Tech for this exact same reason and it required me to go to the Amazon Forest to do Ayahuasca to breakout of that mindset, so I can imagine how hard it is for 99% of the people to have the courage to follow wild dreams like create revolutionary technology.

In my opinion, I don't see this thing selling well. For one, the price is extremely high, two, There's really not much use for it besides business stuff... Also, I see Apple and it's products as a work focused company. They say that their products can do things like gaming, yet the MacBook only runs games from its app store, and cam barely run games on Steam. When I look at an Appl product, I don't see it being a "gaming device", I see it as a business device, and nothing else. I'd rather use the Meta Quest 2 than this $3K product from a business focused company. When I heard the price of the Vision Pro, the first thing I said was, "WTF Apple? Who's gonna buy this highly priced headset?" This headset is like if the iPhone and the Meta Quest Pro had a baby. I find it funny how Apple calls their products "innovating," when other companies have literally thought of this before them. If they want to make something innovating, why don't they just do some research, and think of something that no other company has thought of yet. Hopefully Apple will make a less expensive product, but I highly doubt they'll ever do that. Again, this is just my opinion and my perspective towards Apple.

IT MUST HAVE CONTROLLERS OR IT WILL FAIL!!!. We've already used a similar approach with select what you look at and it SUUUUCKS!!!!! Maybe this is a bit better but sorry no controllers, no likey. It's just not practical. Otherwise it looks Rad!!

meh the Quest 3 is better, vision pro doesnt' have controllers so its not a gaming machine.. plus the battery only last 1 hour, so you can't even watch a full movie, pretty pathetic
