Robin Williams said it best - the only thing worse than being alone is being with people who make you feel alone. This was my now ex-wife who I let use and emotionally abused me far too long till I got the strength to divorce her - and yet I still miss her 7 months later even after she ghosted me for the last 18 months of our marriage. I will be weak for women no more!

@@Insane_ForJesus well said , I'm tired of all this bullshit spouted about what Paul said . We are not made to be alone, that's why God gave Adam a mate. Because we live in a broken sinful world many of us have to suffer singleness. Another thing that really winds me up is the " it's just for a season bullshit" many many Christians have to suffer singleness all their lives and put up with the smug advice from married Christians in the Church who haven't a clue how painful it can be.

The idea of a single "soul mate" isnt actually biblical. There isnt a single person God has called you to be with. There are many people who love God and would be someone you could have a God honoring relationship with. I that isnt something I would worry about. The concept of "oh but what if I chose the wrong one and God actually had someone else for me" is not a question I will ever ask. If I marry a woman, that's it, that's who im meant to be with. Because I make that commitment in marriage.

I am alone! Not even friends, because I attracted the same type of fake friends/ narcissists as my ex! Spend the last 6 years alone - I only have a friend now…and for the 1st time in my life, I don’t feel used! It is balanced! So, I am sure it will happen with a partner as well! Learned to do and enjoy things alone: bought a house and celebrated with a champagne ( yeah, just me), went to restaurant alone, to movie alone, a lot of diy alone- love it! There is absolutely no fear of being alone! The only thing I fear is being without God…I keep healing and working on myself!!!When I ll meet my partner…I’ll be ready!

Remember to be careful people. When you walk in contentment and lose the fear of being alone, you will suddenly find yourself getting a lot more attention than usual. Now your fear ought to be fearing choosing the wrong one, this is where prayer for confirmation comes in and is helpful. Always compare a potential boyfriend or girlfriend to biblical descriptions of good character. Remember to be weary of those who flatter and those who say one thing and behave differently. Please be patient and make sure you know who you are choosing to get involved with

I have been so isolated! I have chosen it. As a single mom with 3 little boys, my focus was totally on raising them for the Lord and developing in my calling to full time ministry. Their dad left when my youngest two (twins) were babies. He was no longer apart of our lives and I chose never to date, have social life or anything. My sons are now 32 and 33. I haven't made friends or dated still at 62. I just retired but to pursue the calling I've known God gave me. I never felt lonely or any desire to remarry until recently. I'm afraid of it yes but the desire is beginning and crashes into my thoughts at random times. I have been clear that I never ever wanted to remarry but here I am kind of dancing around the thought.

WoW, Mark this message truly spoke life in my hear! I stayed in a toxic dysfunctional marriage for 13 years because of my strong fear of rejection and loneliness. Then he cheated and God gave me the strength to leave. I have been single for 4 years because I know the feeling of loneliness while being with the wrong person which did more harm to my self confidence. The deep dependence is better through God. I remember my counselor mentioned ‘why fear being alone, if I cannot stand being with myself how can I expect someone else to stand being with me. I have to learn to live with myself for the rest of my life! Please pray for me so that I can break the barriers of rejection that is holding me back from truly living my life according to God’s will. I hope this helps someone!!

Mark, as usual, you are on point! Great video. I always enjoy listening to you and your advice. My thing though is that I’ve been alone so long, and I’m content with being alone, and if ever anyone tries to get close to me, it’s going to irritate me that there’s somebody there. 😂

I am not afraid of being alone at all, and I'm very much content in God and confident in god more than anything. I'm also serving the lord the best that I can. and God completes me, all of us, really, and not people. I have been single for 22 years, and I've been in situationships (crushing relationships) and I've feared abandonment because I was abandoned as a child, and I once feared rejection, but I don't fear those things anymore. I said enough to those fears long ago and I'm still saying enough to those fears to this day.

Hey Mark, this was another timely video. Thanks! You know I'm a supporter, but I think there are some topics which may need less of a list and more of personal account to get the point across. Many who follow you know that you were married while still very young and have children too. An older person who is still single in their 30's or 40's may think that you have no experience in what you're talking about and have no clue what real loneliness is like. As a pastor I'm sure you've ministered too and learned a lot from the people you've ministered too over the years, so maybe recounting some of that would be helpful. Also, perhaps you could ask for some interaction from your viewers as to what their experience of loneliness is as that would be edifying and informative for us all. As somebody who lived a long time abroad, I think the Christian community fails to be an available, perceptive and responsive source of encouragment for those who are struggling in this area, We must be a visible and tangible and use our knowledge (and that of others) alonside empathy and compassion. God bless! More ministers need to cover these topics for the benefit of the Body of Christ.

Thanks for these suggestions Matthew. I always try to find the balance of teaching verses sharing. I do lean more on teaching as KZfaq tends to attract people looking for answers rather than a connection. But I see what you mean and do think there is a time for me to share more than teach :) God bless as you keep serving the Lord!
