I completely understand, the newborn era is a LOT. I also downloaded the Budget Mom’s paycheck budget tracker, made 24 copies, and bought a lil $2 binder to keep them in. Now that I’ve gotten used to the format I really like it. Oh and I paid off a CC🎉. I now hv 1 left that’s interest free for 18 months.

Started watching the video but then I had to pause it so I could come here and say I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE BACK! A new baby is a great thing, but it’s also stressful. Good stress, but still stressful! And whew, the expenses! It’s a lot. But you are STRONGER THAN YOU KNOW, and love can do a lot of work. We are here pulling for you, because you have been encouraging to us. There is something awe-inspiring about your attitude, your hard work and your determination. We see you! ❤️

I am paid on the same cycle as you are and I budget every two weeks. The extra pay in March gave me 1/2 of my expenses toward the next pay in April, so I am now at least 1/2 pay ahead in budgeting. If I keep this up, I will be 1 month ahead by the time August is done. The goal is to have all my bills paid at the first of every month- which is doable if I stay on track. You are further ahead than you realize!!!

If you usually get 2 checks, but this month you're getting 3, why wouldn't it be extra? I get paid every week so for my magic month I get 5 checks instead of 4. I budget the same as if I was only getting 4 checks. By the time I get that 5th paycheck, bills are already taken care of. Now because I do have an extra week, I give myself more money to spend in my wallet (take out, groceries, gas, and misc.). But the bills are already taken care of with the 1st four paychecks as if it's a regular month.💞
@anasye
@anasye Ай бұрын
Yes, but for some (most) people this only works if they are already 1 month ahead. If you need to pay this months bills with this months income you won't be able to save that money. In my case, my unicorn month was Feb. My extra check was deposited on 2/29/24, if I had not already paid March rent with the Feb 15th paycheck, I would have to use that check to do it. This is because that 3rd check, shifts the pay cycle back. Instead of getting a check on the 1st week and the 3rd weeks of the month, I now get a check on the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month. If you are not already a month ahead, your bills will be past due if you save that unicorn check. In order to get there, people need to use the unicorn check to pay their bill for the next month (as many as they can). They need to do this for both unicorn checks, there are 2 each year. Then the following year they will see extra money.

I honestly never noticed extra money during “magic months” until I got one month ahead on bills last July. Though I still have to take out for gas and groceries for that week I now see extra cash which helps a lot. Glad to see you back! Give yourself grace in this time ❤ In terms of the magic months, the way I set up my finances, it is extra money. Because my rent is so much (NYC), I take out half of my rent each paycheck. So, when the extra paycheck comes, I have about half of my check that I could put towards debt or savings because my rent is already covered by my previous two checks. I hope that makes sense. I guess it depends on how each person’s finances are set up.

Girl…relax. Give yourself some grace. You have been an inspiration for so many. You have to adjust to your “new normal.” You are not starting to fail. You just have to tweak you schedule a little. I am still not where I use to be. Not even close. Every time I plan to get started, something comes up. I have 2 more months of tutoring and then I will be living off just one check a month! I better get it together. As long as you keep your channel, I am 💯 sure that I will get there ❤

So the way I see it is I budget by each paycheck. So each paycheck covers my next two weeks expenses regardless of if bills are coming out that period or not. So as long as my bills and daily expenses are covered, anything extra goes towards paying down debt and savings. Normally if there's an extra paycheck for the month, it either gets me ahead on my next two weeks bills and is a nice perk to not stress about it hitting my account late, and normally I do end up having enough extra money to go towards my debts and savings 🎉 you've got this

It all depends on how you set up your budget. That extra Friday in March was definitely free and helped level out a budget that would have been otherwise out of wack. Then my first bills are paid starting on the 5th and the 12th. Debt payoff fatigue is what you’re going through. You get that initial high by paying things off then the rest is just discipline until you get toward the goal and pay something else off. The ebbs and flows of the game but stay committed. Preciate the vid.

I get paid fortnightly (biweekly) too. Because there are 26 fortnights in a year, the way I budget is that rather than halving a monthly expense, I multiply a monthly expense by 12 to get the annual amount, then divide by 26 to give me the amount I should be putting away on a fortnighly basis. It's a little more complicated than halving everything, but it is also more affordable. With expenses that are quarterly, I do the same thing, work out the annual amount, divide by 26, and that is what I put aside each paycheck. When the bill comes in, I have been saving for it. It may not work for everyone, but I thought I'd share as it may be something to consider. 😊

My opinion that 3rd paycheck I pay rent with because it's due on the 2nd and the paydays gets later in the month.This is saving me money so I don't get charge a late fee.Also I use that method til I get to december which also has 3 paychecks.then I choose if I want to pay rent with it or not.

My 34 yr old son, who I'm trying to teach this to is always in some kind of car problem he doesn't have money for. Then Family asking for 20 dollars here and there. Or hey if you're going to the store can you get me this and that and give me list and they say I'll give you the money when you get here, then i don't see the money or I get it some times or in bits and pieces. So I end up spending money I didn't budget. It's driving me crazy!!! Any feed back??
