Watch me create the new hardscape layout in my Aquascaper 1200 in this aquascape step by step tutorial using Frodo Stone and driftwood. Substrate system is Tropica Aquarium Soil.
What plants would you like to see in here? Let me know in the comments.
Keep on scaping!

Howdy George. Never apologise for ' rambling ' , there are lil gold nuggets of knowledge hidden in your ramblings. So, ignore those other types of nuggets who find the need to criticise a professional who affords us his time and expertise for free. Always appreciated George. Pmsl, it doesnt need plants, such is the strength of this hardscape. Great stuff maestro. Cheers. Joe

Awe...you stopped. The rambling is important, it's creative free association, thinking out loud. 😘 That is a really bold composition. The rocks and wood merge so well together. I think a large amount of weeping moss creeping down the rocks would look good. Looking forward to seeing what you decide on for the final planting and stocking. 👍💕👍

Thank you George - just in time for my 10 gallon rescape today. I have alot of different types of stone that I ordered because my LFS is outrageously expensive, but Its difficult to get the stone you want unless you can order WYSIWYG. Finally got lucky and had some awesome pieces of dragon stone delivered and of an appropriate size to make a high impact aquascape. Placing the wood so it is aesthetically pleasing is a challenge for me.

I love the hardscape! So much height and detail to it! For plants, I would love to see you use some Bolbitis, Hygrophila pinnatifida and Hydrocotyle tripartita. Also, maybe some dwarf stems for variety? For example, Rotala bonsai, Staurogyne repens, Alternanthera reineckii 'mini'. I think a mixed carpet would look great with this, maybe Crypt parva, Lilaeopsis and Marsilea mixed with things like Blyxa, Littorella uniflora and Hydrocotyle? Looking forward to seeing what you do!

Hi George, great to see the change of direction in the new scape to a ”trianguland”. The hardscape looks amazing. Would you consider mosses on the wood , Fissidens Fontanus would look great as well as Chamedryfolia Ricardia. Have you ever thought about red tiger lotus as a background focal piece ? This is really going to be great for the new studio and one to follow. All the best again mate, Martin
