I love your videos, Maha. Seeing this one in particular is a GREAT sign of hope for the Middle East and the whole world. You're making me want to learn Arabic more than ever! Baci e auguri dall'Italia :-)

Maha, I love your videos!! You do a great deal to promote peace between Israelis and Arabs. Heyam, you speak Hebrew so beautifully. Were you born in Israel??

שלום. כביר בעברית היא "גדול מאוד" אבל בדרך כלל כלפי דברים לא פיזיים (כמו רצון כביר, וכו'). לכן עוד פעם אפשר לראות את הקשר בין השפות. Kabir in Arabic and Kabir in Hebrew have the same meaning..

Hey Maha I've got one question: Katan - Ktana (קטן - קטנה) Gadol - Gdola (גדול - גדולה) You said that one have to just add an "A" at the end, but methinks that - at both words - the first vowel of the word is not spoken anymore. Is this normal in Hebrew? Is there any rule for it? Anyway, awesome Video! :D

Ciao Maha! I discovered your videos just a couple of days ago, and I love them. If you'd make some more Hebrew lessons, I'd be so happy, since that's the language I'm trying to learn right now. But I started watching your arabic course, just because you're such a brilliant teacher. Toda, shukran and grazie!

That's BRILLIANT, Maha! Maybe you should do videos that recap on earlier lessons like this, to give a sort of perspective of the stuff you've already taught. Many forget how related Arabic and Hebrew are and it's a very interesting context.
@tianqizenmeyang
@tianqizenmeyang 12 жыл бұрын
@Dorksche - Yes, this is perfectly normal in Hebrew. This is because when the A is more than one syllable away from the stress, the vowel will no longer be produced. This is almost always the case with all words that have the A sound in Hebrew. For example: Hungry: Ra-Ev (m.s) R-E-va (f.s). רָעֵב - רְעֵבָה Hope this helps!

Both of them are Arabs from Israel. Arabs can have "whiter" skin as well. Your comment is racist and antisemitic. Jewish and Arabs belong to the land that is called today Israel. There are no "foreign occupiers".

you can actually say kabeer in Hebrew too, it means the same as in arabic. Though it's not in much use these days, it's more biblical. Also I'd like to say these videos are really cool. I hope they do some real tikun olam, that's Hebrew for fixing the world (sort of like heal the world), which is a concept in Jewish religion.
