Arabic Language is known influencing more than 15 languages in this world and also stated as the 5th most spoken language in this . Some words of arabic with loaned to the Malay language which is spoken in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. There are similarities of these languages between Bahasa Melayu and Arabic stated online especially in the written language. Not knowing there are differences as on papers some words are written similar to Bahasa Arabic. So this time, I have a guest from Arabic country, half Lebananese and Palestinian whom has adapted to the Norwegian culture and bornt Norwegian. Our discussion leads to a findings where the similarities on Arabic and Malay language could proof wrong in certain written manners as some are spoken in different manner especially from different parts of Arab. Nevertheless, the similarities of these loan words are still there between Arabic and the Malay language. Let me know which part of Malaysia are you from or even which Bahasa you speak either from Bahasa Indonesia , Malaysia or Brunei ! Have a nice day !

Salam, hi Felicia, you should do part 2, here are other similarities 1. Jemaah (group) = Jami'at (Arabic) 2. Majlis (gathering, same pronunciation in Arabic and Malay) 3. Jenayah (felony) = Janayat, Jinayah, Jinayat (Arabic) 4. Syarikat (company) = Syirqah, Syirqat (however in Arabic, it means coalition?) 5. Masyarakat (people) = Musyarakah, Musyarakat 6. Mesyuarat (minute meeting, company meeting, business meeting) = Musyawarah, Musyawarat. 7. Kitab (book, same pronunciation) 8. Tamat (end) = Tammat (Arabic, double M is important) 9. Nikah (married, same pronunciation) 10. Hakim (judge) = Hakeem (Arabic, but it can means referee) 11. Kadi, Tok Kadi (marriage registerar) = Qodhi (Arabic, somehow, this means judge) 12. Mahkamah (court, same pronunciation) 13. Adil (just) = Aadil (Arabic, the Arabic Aaa, Ayn letter, not Aleef letter) 14. Zalim (unjust) = Zoleem (Arabic) 15. Maut (die) = Mawoot (Arabic) 16. Awal (start) = Awwal (Arabic, 2 W is important) 17. Akhir (last) = Ookheer (Arabic) 18. Faham (to know) = Faheem (Arabic) and lots of religious term such as Malaikat (Mala'eekah), Haram, Makruh, Sunnah, Wajib, Harus, Azan, Masjid, Imam, Makmum, Solat, Zakat, Haji etc. However, the term Wajib (must) and Harus (should) also being used for non-religious purpose, especially during school time.

This arab girl is not speaking Fusha Arabic (standard classical arabic) so some of the pronunciation is totally different including the phonology of the language

There are some influences I've seen, especially this one: Perlu kepada = to need(lit: need toward) It's informal, but my teachers one way or another almost never fail to use this expression that is originally (standard)Arabic: Ihtaaja 'ilaa(احتاج إلى) Another thing is, there is also this grammatical similarity you'd find if you bother to learn the cases in Arabic. Soal = ask Soalan = s.t. that is asked, i.e. question(i.e. passive participle) In Arabic: Su'aalun = question(nominative) Su'aalan = question(accusative) So, -an in Malay is passive participle but in (standard)Arabic is accusative(object). And lastly, there's this. Air itu sejuk = the water is cold Air itu sejuklah = the water is cold, you know In Arabic: al-maa'u barid(الماء بارد) = The water is cold 'inna-l-maa'u labaarid = Indeed, the water is cold. In both language, la(h) is used as an emphasizer or something like that. Which is why we can do this: Dia makanlah! = he (definitely) eats! Laya'kulanna(ليأكلن)! = he indeed eats! (Malay doesn't have the equivalent of -anna... unless you count the informal kedahan word 'nah' and 'noh')

Hai felicia! Apa khabar? Nice video about arabic dengan BM. For your information palestinian arabic ada persamaan dengan egyptian arabic. For example bila Mahasen sebut وقت bunyi macam WA't sebab the letter ق(qaf) is macam huruf 'k' yang tebal in modern & traditional arabic BUT in some arabic dialect it pronoun as 'A' as in ayam or 'g' as in gali. Macam perkataan 'بقي' some arabs will pronoun 'bagii' and some pronoun 'ba ei'..satu lagi dulu org melayu susah nak sebut 'harf' so kita just ambik 'huruf' sebab lg senang nak sebut 😂😂 beside it had a same meaning😂😂 satu lagi شكرا عليكي بهذا الفيديو مملؤ بالمعلومات ممتازة و كمان إنتي مش حترجعي ماليزيا للإنتخابات؟

Not only similarity in words but also there is similarity in sentence structure ...for example, you would say in BM: rumah cantik , noun comes first and followed by adjective, in Arabic we say: بيت جميل , where بيت is house (rumah) and جميل is beautiful (cantik) ....which is opposite to English where adjective comes first followed by noun : a beautiful house .

But for writing discourse, we add 'yang' or 'itu' e.g. rumah itu cantik/rumah yang cantik but the word الذي/هذا absent in Arabic.

@@fithri99 when you say 'rumah yang cantik' it means البيت الجميل it's not a complete sentence but 'rumah cantik' it means بيت جميل without identification ...it's a general sentence...والله اعلم

Interesting that in Palestinian Arabic you said "u", instead of "wa" in Standard Arabic, for "and". Hebrew word for "and" is "ve" but sometimes pronounced "u" too. Probably influence from Hebrew?

Act arabic also pronounce the letter q(ق) . Just some accent like egyptian arabic pronounce the letter silently😁 so baki and baqi r exactly got similar pronunciation. Correct me if Im wrong

She doesn't speak in Modern Standard Arabic i'm guessing. She used /u/ instead of /au/ for the word 'and'. Also, rabu and arbi'a/arba'a derived from the same word raba'a (R-B-A[ع])literally means the number four given that wednesday is the fourth day in a week. Waktu and sabtu pronounce correctly even in MSA. Just add the vocal ُ /و on the very last letter. It's hard to explain Arabic as every words are build with mostly 3 letter (a-b-c) and addition of other letters and vowels the one that distinguish the meaning or grammatical rules.

Sabtu (Malay) --> Sabt (Arabic) Waktu (Malay) --> Wakt (Arabic) Ilmu (Malay) --> Ilm (Arabic) In Arabic there is diacritics (sounds and not written) at the end of words. In Malay the diacritics are replaced with (U) at the end which is Dhama in Arabic.
