I don't even need to watch the video. Are employers abusing zero hours contracts? YES THEY FUCKING ARE

sounds like a "zero hour" contract worker is the same as an American "independent" contracted worker, same issues. Legal but NOT ethical. so, the issue will be ignored by companies,on both sides, until it affects the legal status. Sadly neither Britain nor American workers have come anywhere close to affecting legal issues allowing this disrespect/abuse.

Keeping wages low and a convenient scapegoat when full time workers mess up.

This is why elderly are being harmed by people whom don't care in the care sector. This is why Ocado watches there staff to see how long they are off for break and toilet.

Yes, I work care for an agency have done for 6 years now, the turnover is huge, meaning the carers aren't experienced as they really should be especially when homecare is concerned, I cant tell you how many times I've nearly left, they treat staff poorly and clients are just numbers

Zero hours contract is not a contact. It's the absence of a contract. WHAT EVER your working arrangement, even if it looks like, verbally or email, 25 hours a week regular forever no weekly agreement, if you have not been given a written contract then you are on a zero hours contract, i.e you have no contact, you are not an employee, you are just a worker and pay and work can stop at a moment's notice.
