I’m unjustifiably proud of myself for guessing that’s squats are an isometric for hamstrings

I feel like I'm hamstring dominate, all I ever did for the past decade was high/wide stance leg press. Not a bodybuilder, but when I show people my legs they say my quads are trash in comparison to my decent hammies. But it makes no sense that the high/wide stance worked after watching this video.

How about a video for people who don't get a lot of quad gains from squats? Asking for a friend......

Too many of the old school era would say all this is overcomplicated, nonsense. When in fact they're doing what you're discussing but blindly! Cogently just believing that a leg curl works the hamstrings.

This is a somewhat unrelated question, but I would be grateful if someone could answer - on the incline dumbbell press I have no issues at 15 degree incline, however when I up it to 30 degrees I get some elbow pain. Does anyone know why this is? Do I have to change my form on the steeper incline (e.g. wider/narrower/ more tucked /less tucked) compared to the lower incline to stop the elbow pain? Thanks

Hard to say without watching form. Possibly video yourself from various angles in both positions and self analyse and see if you're doing anything different. You could be tilting them one way or another without realising.

@Chris No I don't generally while pressing but occasionally I'll get elbow pain while squatting and I think a contributor is my grip. Sometimes I find myself gripping too tightly

@Chris yes. I was just wondering when moving to a steeper incline, if you have to tuck your elbows more (or less) and go wider/narrower compared to if you were at a low incline

Can be good for glutes. Knees still flex. Ham length stays very similar.

If you're hinged at the hip, then the hip flexors are shortened (not involved in quad extension) but the rectus femorus also crosses the hip joint, meaning it will also be shortened, and it DOES have some role in knee extension, so maybe you would get a slightly more intense contraction leaning forward. Probably just best to sit in a way that's most comfortable tbh
