Thank you! This and your best exercise series is fantastic information.! I saw you in some of The Mountain Dog videos and decided to check out your channel. I’ve been training for over 20 years. After my last real injury (tore a distal bicep tendon right off) and working through rehab and clawing my way back to where I was, I’ve been trying to train more intelligently and thinking about the parts of the strength curve and making exercises more efficient and effective. This is perfect stuff! Please keep it coming.

Great video. Keep em coming! I’m glad you touched on the fact some exercises don’t work well for some people. I’ve never liked flat bench. Can smash flat dumbbell press. Flat bench never felt “right” so I don’t do it. Nice hearing someone rationalize it.

Hi, thanks for your Insta and KZfaq channel. This was a great video. I'm now 40 years old, i have to ditch some exercises that gives me shoulder or knee pain. Hello sir. What do you think about ben pakulski techniques and muscle activation for MI40X? Like for squat he said push the ground apart to activate the quads then pull your hams on the negative phase and at the bottom squeeze your glutes and quads and move up to the start position. DO YOU USE THIS MUSCLE ACTIVATION OR YOU DO UP AND DOWN MOTION?
@mswalsh68
@mswalsh68 6 жыл бұрын
Well, I can’t speak directly for him, but I know he does train at the MI40 gym, so I would think that some of the principles carryover, not sure how many.
@jayeprokashrohitashwa778

mswalsh68 You mean that he doesnt follow ben principles. He develops his own techniques. But does he do the muscle activation in each body like ben do?

Push the ground apart is to keep your knees from bowing in. It’s very smart to spread out a little as you rise.

Science is science, how to fully lengthen and shorten a muscle is not something to be disputed, how Joe goes about programming his workouts, I am not sure, but I'm sure thoughts on execution and how to activate muscles are very similar between them

Joe: Sorry to be so critical of your videos but... You're talking about squats. Everyone knows that we get progressively stronger as we move from the flexion to extension ranges of the squat movement. So... Here is a question I ask young bodybuilders so that they can gain some understanding of the importance of resistance curves. Here it is: "With how much weight can a person squat?" Here is the answer - and it's really profound! __ "A person can squat with only as much weight as he can move out of his weakest position" This means that we are always squatting with the LEAST amount of weight that we can handle. Think about it! We, in fact get ENORMOUSLY stronger as we move from the beginning to the end range of the squat movement. A person who can move 200 lbs out of the beginning range could easily lock out with 600 or more lbs. Can you produce such a dramatic load increase with bands or chains? Of course not. This is ineffective, stone age "technology"! The problem is that everyone from rank beginners to the most "famous" trainers and coaches simply will not come to their senses and realize that we must abandon squats altogether as the primary quad exercise. Some years ago I developed a machine that not only takes you through a greater range of motion than a squat, but will allow a rank beginner to train with up to 800 lbs - for high reps in what I will call a leg thrusting movement. The resistance mechanism on this machine likewise senses your momentary strength level at the end of each rep and automatically and proportunately decreases the resistance load for each successive rep. On your last rep you may be pushing only 20 lbs!! So kiss goodbye to squats - there's something infinitely more effective coming! And , by the way, you can't stand after just one set on this machine - every last muscle fibre being "blown out"! So there... -- Friend and fellow bodybuilder -- Darren Colt Phd (darrencolt46@gmail.com)
