So at the end of WoW: Legion Sargeras plunged his sword deep inside Azeroth, essentially shattering Silithus into pieces and seriously wounding the Azeroth world soul.
With the help of Magni and the titan watchers, we managed to heal Azeroth and prevent the bleeding of azerite, but what is going to happen with the sword? We are about to go into the Shadowlands yet this sky-high blade is still hanging around?
In this video, I give my theories and speculations on what could happen with the blade and some possible scenarios for future wow expansions after the Shadowlands.

I have learned one thing from wow "teams". One faction or some other in their desperate attempt to destroy some other faction will use whatever means. They'll find some use for the weapon, and try to destroy everyone else with it. And that will be the act of giving us another expansion or something, *blizzard logic*

When the Sword somewhat be removed, it will reveal a Hole that will serve as Entrance to the CENTER OF THE WORLD AZEROTH. It will be a Expansion based on the "Travel to the Center of the Earth" book. We will discover that are various beings living there that were created and have being harnessing the energy of creation of Azeroth for millennia.

@@owencuddy6158 The the impact of the sword fall could cause planet-wide damage from its fall. So it doesn't matter how important Silithus is, the fall of the sword may cause some damage to the planet.

I'm still puzzled by the fact a giant planet sized sword gets shoved into a world, possibly hitting the core...and nothing happens. A dragon shoots out of the planets butthole and it falls apart.

Difference is that Deathwing broke the pillar between the elemental plain and the normal world. Essentially. Sargeras possibly got close to the core where as Deathwing shattered the core from inside

Weapons in WoW usually change their size according to the race that's carrying them. Give a sword to a tauren and it's way bigger as the same sword in the hands of a gnome. So my solution: Just let a gnome pick it up. According to WoW physics the sword should shrink to the size of a peanut.

I'd say we teleport it off Azeroth, maybe? Or perhaps obliterate it into a type of dust we can then clean up? Then use azeroth's blood to sorta mend the wound, maybe have Cenarius and the other wildgods pour their power into the wound to help sterilize it. Or maybe we bust Eonar out and she grows a world tree atop the wound to heal it up.

When you get stabbed and the blade is still in there, it's best to leave it be as it would cause catastrophic bleeding if removed.

@@lynxerz yeah but just because the wound has been cauterized doesn't mean we can just pull out the sword. If there was a knife stuck in you and just cauterized the wound without pulling it out, then decided to just pull it out it would reopen the wound.

Sargeras' sword is MASSIVE, so it is impossible to remove by mortals, and only a Titan can remove it, but remove the sword will also leak more blood of Azeroth to the surface while leaving a huge hole on Silithus. So it is impossible to remove the sword, and even if you cut the sword to its edge, the rest of the sword-like its fuller, rain-guard, grip, and pommel will fall down to the planet causing more damages not only to Silithus, but the rest of the planet. Also the sword was stabbed near the ocean, so if it fall to the ocean, it's fall will create huge tidal waves that will flood anything near them. So sad to said that the people of Azeroth have to live with the sword until Azeroth is born, and all they can do is heal the wound that the sword causes.

If they were to take the sword out using mage magic, they would need healers. Remember the Wandering Isle? It took 20 healers to fix that wound. This wound would be 25x the size of that. They very well could take the sword out with 10 mages of Jaina’s skill. In Warbringers: Jaina, she raised a huge command ship of the Kul Tiran Fleet.

I really hope they *dont* give Sargeras a redemption. dude is responsible for destroying probably hundreds of worlds. and giving him any sort of redemption would be cringey. as far as the sword goes, I think it will still somehow damage Azeroth over time and maybe split the planet in half (still).

I think the idear of Azeroth running around with it is one of Sargers worst nightmares. He hoped that it would kill her but it didn't, meaning that he either increased the rate at whitch the Void can corrupt her (it got close to that in BfA) and/or gave her one of the only weapons that can kill even a titan + a very big grudge when she fully wakes up.

The mages were able to generate enough power to lift up a whole city from the ground and move it to northrend. Same could happen here, if we -need- it. But the sword is drained and the wound is fine.

I always picture Blizzard sitting around a table to decide what to do with the end of Legion and coming up with this. They use phrases like "what a cool set piece," or "what a powerful moment for the player fantasy" and then they have no idea what to do with it beyond that.

I'd love to see the sword become the final raid in WoW. We scale to the top and fight the Void Lord there, channeling Azeroth's power up it's blade. Then the world soul emerges and uses it to destroy the void lord. The energy searing closed the wound and the new Titan then moving on.

At the time I saw the cinematic when we won the fight against Argus, and Sargeras was advancing with the sword, and all of us like "omg he's doing it, he's doing it", there I thought he was pointing towards one of the ancient gods, which of In fact he was the governor of the Black Empire at the time, and taking into account the main idea of the Burning Legion, it is not a far-fetched idea.

the sword wouldnt have made a massive explosion, like a meteorite. The sword is pointed, a meteorite is blunt. the best analogy i can think of is this. The sword was an Olympic diver, they hit teh water with more surface area, they have a bigger splash. when they hit the water more like a point (on sword) the splash is minimalized. the sword was point, and plunged with an immense speed and power, so it would have sunken into the crust, with almost no mass repercussions. If you are stabbed, with a sharp pointed weapon, the wound doesnt explode

Early in the video there is a statement about how the sword "should have created an effect like a meteorite hitting" Meaning a mass apocalyptic eruption like impact that would kill most, if not all, of life from the initial impact and following dusty filled sunless atmosphere. Which i clearly pointed out would not be possible, based on the physics of the sword piercing the crust, not bashing into it. no where did i state the after effects of the stabbing, and subsequent wound, were incorrect. *undead curtsy*

The void lords expansion would only come when blizzard decides to pull the plug on wow. Until then they will just keep teasing with the void lords and Azeroth (the titan)

With that much momentum, planet azeroth would've been pushed out of orbit : everyone freezes to death due to moving away from the sun etc Pulling it out or destroying it would require as much energy to pull out then the one it generated going in . Point is : it should not have happened, and powers of azeroth should leave it or just try to disintegrate it slowly. That is of course assuming Kalimdor continent did not shatter in the first place

I'd imagine the power from the sword (being a higher power than that of kil'jaeden because Sargeras) would be used to reforge a new helm of domination or something of the sort to mend the wounds between realms.

Well, with how notoriously ineffective prisons are in warcraft. It's probably safe to assume Sargeras is going to come back and remove it eventually. Either that or the world soul will wake up and during the next massively overblown kaiju battle it's going to take sargeras's sword out, use it as an 11th hour superpower and slay some void god or some such thing as we somehow manage to weaken it first.

Some villain will prob break the sword into shards and use it to make weapons for their army due to prob will infuse them with some kind of power hence some recap of how things turned out for hellscream in MOP with the heart and sha power

I mean, getting rid of this thing is absolutely possible without further damaging Azeroth. Even we could do it now. All that is needed to do is deconstructing it from the highest possible point down to survice level. Since the wound seems coled, that the rest of the sword stays where it is. Boom, sword gone and maybe even cool alien materials gained. Btw, realisticly speaking, the sword would yoink Azeroth out of it's balanced in ordbit and either drive it closer, or further away from the sun, cataclysmic even or not. Everyone would be doomed.

I always think of that sword that is piercing the planet It cannot be left alone as a decoration, since this was created from a fragment of Gorshalach, the most powerful weapon in the universe, and it would be an "insult" to just forget it by Blizzard, so it is surely related to the red star that we can see in the sky, and the return of Sargeras and Illidan in a future expansio

Have dwarves mine the upper half. Use mages to use the magic of lifting dalaran into the other half of the sword. Cover the gap with the chipped shards from the upper half of the sword.

A 2nd Cataclysm should have happened. Maybe on the other side of Azeroth a new island formed, or Ungoro crater became a water zone. Also with where we are in the timeframe, should Ahn' Qiraj get a instance upgrade, like caverns of molten Azerite flowing inside, what if Azerite reinvigorated C'thun.

It's an integral part of the end of legion and most BFA content. That sword isn't going anywhere.

especially with an old god repelled, they should really try and find a way to get that out of the planet now shouldn't they? that really is a lot of metal though..literally enough to likely arm and armor every plate and chain wearing class over the whole of Azeroth and have enough left to create a rail system between all the major cities on all the continents

I think my stance is a bit more realistic. Yeah it did a massive amount of damage when it went in to the planet, but what would happen if it got removed? Yeah all the azerite stuff popped up, but what if after sacrificing the artifact weapons, the sword is actually stabilizing something? Long story short, picturing azerite super volcano.

When a titan awakens, the world is destroyed. azeroth is an egg, why would you want it to hatch. Tbh a redeemed sargeras assisting the pantheon and sacrificing themselves is more lilely and thats enough to finish the story.

Well.we dont actually know that, we never saw any awakened Titan worlds except Argus and he was more wrecked by Sargeras than anything else.

i know it will sound fatalist, BUT, the way i see it it will end at most, with the posible next 2 expansions, since blizz its in its way down to death, and see as how are they cutting costs on lore, it wont be as climatic as it should, thanks activition for the managing, and blizz for not taking care of your people

The awakening of Azeroth, I always felt this sword to become hers. But when this happens, is that the end of everything where our races live. Does she place the world back togeather. Will it be our inheritance. A place that is truly our own. What is the story after that?

you literally can see it in space. i doubt we can remove it without being a major issue. if you started from the bottom, it could fall side ways and land somewhere else, causing another destruction like silithus. and it would take us awhile just to climb the top too just scrap it into materials. my guess is, it would take many life times just too even get to the hilt of the blade, and that's just from the top. not to mention the horde might start another war over trying to claim the materials off the sword...

@@Hawkens4k 3rd war was started by the Alliance, and although Silithus may be contested territory the Alliance did attack the goblin prospectors in the zone without provocation essentially starting the 4th war. The Alliance has always had a history of bigotry towards the Horde, that's one of the reasons Garrosh was such a fuck to begin with. He had a massive chip on his shoulder because he'd seen how the Alliance viewed the Horde even after they'd teamed up to take out Arthas and Deathwing. He was given the impression that in the Alliances eyes the Horde would always be what they were in the 1st and 2nd wars. So he started thinking the only way to be free of that suspicion was to remove them (Not trying to justify his actions, just pointing out the role the Alliance played in the creation of that monster.) The Alliance have a history of setting in motion the events that lead to horrible Villains being created. Arthas, Garrosh, and Sylvanas were all set on their paths by the Alliance, and the Twilight Hammer grew right under their noses. Meanwhile the Horde have a history of being manipulated or outright controlled by Villains, the Legion, Garrosh, and Sylvanas. Both factions have their roles and blood on their hands, and honestly I hope they mix it up a but in the future. Let's see Genn and Tyrande show their true colors.

I think some massive magic will turn the sword into a new world tree, and Silithus will mostly be transformed into another landscape. Only problem with that is that Un'Goro is already very verdant and you don't want two similar zones next to each other.

I think one day Azeroth will wake up and purifies the sword to make it hers. At the end of BFA Magni says that the world-soul isn't tortured anymore by the old gogds so it means that now Azeroth has all her potential free. That can change the balance and will explain why Goribal maybe will be purified one day and remove. I think if Blizz let the sword now it's not for nothing that will be a plot for future content.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a group of somekind turned the sword into a giant structure as it does look like it could be a raid tower or something.

At the end of Legion and beginning of BFA before they went with the old god shit I swore up and down that the sword itself was going to be a raid of some kind centered around getting it out of the planet and healing her. But no they went another way. Honestly at the end of shadowlands if there is one last expansion to wow if it makes it that far. The expansion needs to settle completely around repairing the Damage Done to the planet during the last six expansions. Nothing world ending. Nothing catastrophic. Just an expansion about healing about repairing the damage that was done.

I seen to remember us healing gaping wounds on a giant turtle in the pandaren starting zone, if it was broken down into pieces and then removed we could heal it

right??? We not even gonna try and break it down for materials, or try to remove it or nothing? I have a feeling the next expansion is going to be based on "what happened while we were gone in shadowlands" especially since time moves differently there. Guarantee Tirion is gonna fuck the world up sitting on the throne.
