Nice, I've been watching armwrestling for about 8 months, and hear people talk about keeping your arm inside your body, and I had a rough idea of what they meant by that, but it was really nice to have a very clear and concise description of what that actually means. This was great! I'd love if you did a series just kind of going over armwrestling terms, and techniques and stuff.
@derbycityarmwrestling7300
@derbycityarmwrestling7300 Жыл бұрын
When people talk about elbow inside the body they're also talking about keeping the elbow in line with your belly button. If you place your elbow on your belly button, you can sorta understand the position. You won't be able to do that on the table, but just think about getting your arm in line with your belly button when it's on the pad as well.

Love the message here Auden and I appreciate how positive and articulate you are all the time, you have a great energy. I personally wonder how close you are to beating your big bro Milo these days, since you have direct access to table time with your dad and his home training equipment and Milo’s been away a lot since starting college…gotta be getting pretty close! Keep up the good work buddy!💪🏼

if your hand is high to begin with, so with established rise, and if you have strong supination and/or cup, it is much easier to put your whole effort into the press. But if your hand is not that good, a lot of pressure may go through your arm.

This is a good video and I think before anyone attempts arm wrestling, even with friends, they should know this. The problem is, people arm wrestle with friends because it seems so effortless and easy to do, just about anywhere. The unfortunate reality of that, is that both are more than likely oblivious to the quick injury they came put one or the other through if they aren't pulling properly. I'm guilty of this myself. Pulling friends while myself and them clueless on wtf we were doing, lol. Nowadays with a bit more knowledge, I can try to advise them before we mess around anymore. The thing is, they're also not quite getting the point immediately. I feel like you either learn over time, or unfortunately, learn through experience.

When I watch your dad's stuff he's always telling ppl to keep there eyes on the hands too, figured that had something to do with safety too, maybe.

Awesome video auden. Very informative and essential. But how come professional arm wrestlers like todzilla and even your Dad ( I’m a huge fan) get away from all that pressure as they are always in precarious positions of a potential arm break while applying intense side pressure all along? I believe years of experience have rendered their tendons and bone structure into steel!
@Trebolf
@Trebolf Жыл бұрын
That's definitely a huge part of it! The human body is amazing at adapting. Over the decades of stress from pulling and training, all their tendons, ligaments, and muscles are conditioned to take a LOT more pressure than the average man.
@OnlyMuzan

@@Trebolf all about keeping an eye on your ability and limitations. They can get away with it because they know their strengths and limitations
@Pepe-pq3om

There's gotta be something related with genetic also, I can get away with a lot o side pressure pulling until I start felling something in the bone or ligaments, specially if I compare my self to my friends. I'm not stronger than them, but if we are in a deep hook and the hand is not contested, I can just go sideways without worrying to mutch about it. Also, I think is worth mentioning that that my upper arm is really short, that probably helps with it.
@FatherAbraham2024
@FatherAbraham2024 Жыл бұрын
This is exactly why people should stop trying to imitate Todd Hutchings. I think his shorter arm and forearm make him an anomaly and an exception in this respect
@EthnHayabusa
@EthnHayabusa Жыл бұрын
I agree. Hutchings is incredible, but part of that is that he is strong in a very dangerous way to pull. It's honestly not efficient technique, and there are healthier ways to train/pull.

I think more people need to just condition their elbow joint, by doing high repetitions of loading that spiral pressure. I never had any elbow pain, just a little shortly after conditioning.
