After thread locking the axles this is my number one mod for the V3. Night and day when running on leaves, cut grass or gravel (not stopping every two minutes to clear the servo).

Hi there. Oh yeah those axles need threadlocking for sure. Yes the fenders certainly make this truck more usable and less likely to get clogged up. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback 😁

Great vid! I think I will get these as well, thanks for the suggestion. I picked up some 3D printed parts from Etsy, one is a drive shaft cover and also a cover that bolts on above the steering linkage to keep rocks out, finally a piece that mounts on the top of the rock guards in the front, so it's like the ones in your vid but it only covers over top the front wheel, those were a waste of money lol

A ladies stocking cut to the right length works well to keep out gravel (but not wet stuff). You just need to make a support put of some flexible plastic to lift it off of the fans and receiver etc. Stocking can also flex which means it almost completely seals at the front around steering arms.

hi pete, as i mentioned before, install some stock granite tires and its then a new car... to protect the car shell... fit HI-TAC scrim tape and shoe-goo.... or a flexable evo-stick tube glue.

Yeah I have Granite wheels and tyres on my Big Rock and it's better for sure. I'm just using Gorilla tape on these shells which does a pretty good job. I know that the dry wall tape and glue is better but haven't done that recently. Many thanks for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁

Hiya, Pete! Nice one mate - enjoyed that! Funny how they specified elongating those holes with hot wire? Never seen that before. Good job on the installation, looks the part, but I agree that you are better off with an open wheel buggy when running in really heavy dirt and mud. Hope you are enjoying a sunny Bank Holiday, all the best matey! :O)

Hiya I'm matey. Funnily enough I'd just finished watching your Viper vid when your comment on mine popped up. Yeah I think these fenders are pretty good but still better to use the ones with uncovered wheels like you say. Yeah it is odd to get you to melt the plastic with a wire but it seemed to work. I've just got back from the brewery so I shall sample some of that later. Anyway I will catch you over in the comment section of your video. Cheers for now mate 😀🍺🍺🍺

I wish someone else would come out with a competitor product. If they want to get fresh air into the RC, it would be best to get it from the sides of the body or the front top... The wheels really do make a mess of things. Does this happen on the Typhoon?
@PeteWylieRC

Hi there. No the Typhon chassis stays pretty clean due to the close fitting body. Bit of a gap around the back but not too bad. Many thanks for watching and your comments.

I got them, too and I’m quite happy with them. You may have noticed that most of the crud had deposited up front. This is because of the big open area through which the front wheels shovel the dirt at full steering deflection. While cutting out the front section instead of clearing all of the area as shown in the drawing I left as much as possible as not to inhibit the steering mechanics movement. To get the fenders over the posts I cut out a large enough hole at the top so that the mounting post would fit through. That was a bit fiddely but it paid off. The front fender well offers much better protection and I have hardly anything inside even with most intense bashing in the dirt. Full thumbs up for this upgrade! PS I’ll post a picture if requested. PPS Here’s my video of the modifications I made to the mudguards: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odxzpdSi1s-7d2w.html
@PeteWylieRC
@PeteWylieRC 3 жыл бұрын

@@PeteWylieRC i suspect that it’s not possible to added pictures here. I will make some photos and shoot a video of mounting the mudguards. I’ve never published anything on KZfaq before. Therefore I may try it now or I’ll just load them to my server and place the link here. Too bad I hadn’t recorded the process of my doing when I was at it but that though came just when I saw you mudguard report, which compelled me to reply to it. Greetings from Pete to Pete. 😄

US Reviewer: I ordered three of these and after paying shipping it was about $47 each. My opinion is this may not be a perfect solution and at $47 each I was hoping for that! The first issue that I see is you need to figure out how to keep the sides (door panels) of the body pulled in, as there is still plenty of room for debris to get in. Second: he needs to figure out how to use Amazon or a distributor and let them handle the shipping over here. It would be more worth it.
@PeteWylieRC
@PeteWylieRC 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Well yes I don't know if there is a perfect solution when there is a load of debris on the ground like in the forest. People are saying about the dusty motors cover. The mud guards certainly help anyway. Like I was saying in the video I will keep it for the drier months. Could use velcro to keep the sides of the body in? Yes the postage thing is annoying. The bits I need to get from the States are the pivot balls and the big bore shocks. The postage sure as heck bumps the price up. Anyway, hope the mudguards do help with your Senton. Thanks for your comments :-)

I just got my Senton and it's a great truck, but yea, the constant cleaning it out can be a bit of a chore. Might still order these just for the looks and every little bit helps I suppose. Hi there. I think that these are worth having but I don't know how much it costs to get them over to you. I have the same issue with parts that I get from the States where the postage is more than the part! People are recommending Top Tubz which are available on Facebook.
