Many thanks #11CHARLIERC for the video!!! Quick question, I bought the HR 57 0.8 SPUR GEAR for my 3s Typhon and I was wondering For the slipper clutch assembly what size bearings did you use??

Forgot to mention after you tightened the screw all the way in ,,UNSCREW A TURN AND A HALF ( 1.5 ) .. That's what the instructions says,,, a lot of people do it differently,, I go a Turn and a half,, do a text and start losing it as needed,,,, never had an issue,, OK THANK YOU GUYS
@johnwagner45595 жыл бұрын
Thats way too much bro. Most guys are going one turn, if that. 1 1/2 makes the slipper slip and loosen up too much.
@christophercorrado24062 жыл бұрын
Typhon 3s I just added the metal Aarma 57T spur gear and I now have to tighten to max to engage. Who added a 4th disc? Seems happier with it.

What about the lock nut with the brass insert? What order is it introduced to the slipper
@johnwagner45595 жыл бұрын
Alot of people, including me, found out that the black nut from the rebuild kit, is not used. The slipper housing is threaded. I cracked the same part u did, twice. If u try and use the black nut, the motor module will never fit in the truck. Did u know that??? Also, in the video, u didnt install the brass bushing on the round part of tge housing. U need that or else it wear fast.

Where’s the coil as shown in the manual as the order ?
@xxpug_unicornxx1844 жыл бұрын
Did yours come with the spring that goes on before the hex bolt and thrust washers ? Just taken me senton 3s blx apart and there was no spring in there. Yet the manual and rebuild kits do.

Not the easiest slipper clutch to work on if you can break it. They should of designed it with the lock nut one side and then it makes it adjustable.

@johnwagner45595 жыл бұрын
Yup. I just snapped 2 assembly's. Not the screw, the round raised part that the brass bushing goes into. And that black nut isn't needed. Shitty design.
@afterrunrc99355 жыл бұрын
@@johnwagner4559 yea the lock nut isn't needed and I bought the maintenance kit thinking I lost the lock nut. Assembled everything to find out I couldn't put it back inside the truck. They did redesign the slipper clutch $45 for a full replacement #ara310949

Hey Charlie maybe you can help me out...pulled my rear diff to install new diff bearings. If you look at the exploded view of it there is one shim in front of the bearing on the diff cap.. well to my surprise stock out of box the shim wasn't in this spot ... The shim isn't here it's on the opposite side of the diff with the crown gear .. hopefully I explained this easily enough...so my dilemma is do I reinstall everything according to the exploded view or the way I pulled it apart... So there's no confusion on the shim I'm talking about the part number is ar709052... Hopefully you understand all this... I want to thank you in advance ....Rick

Mine was the same way at yours brother,,, it got me confused for a minute,,, I put it back the same way It came out ,,, ran it for awhile like for a month when back in to check again to double check the parts and they were fine,,,I will keep an eye on it ,, it's been running fine so far,,, I hope I answer your question brother

@@operation11charlieinc well I just now put mine back together the same way you did hopefully things will be ok...just don't understand why the exploded view shows that shim on the opposite side of the diff .. very strange...hey maybe we found an Arrma flaw ..lol ... anyway..thanks man I appreciate your quick response...much appreciated and love your videos buddy ...let's see some more Typhon videos... they're great and extremely informative

Is it possible to strip that black plastic cup? I didn't know how to get it off, so i just pulled and it came off. Now, however, i can just pull it off freely and its not catching on those little grooves. I wanna say i stripped the plastic off by pulling it off?

@@operation11charlieinc dude, agreed. I'm rebuilding my Arrma BRCC 3s BLX at the moment.... went mudding, and just about every bearing froze up... if I'd driven it later that day or the next day, this might have not happened, but like an idiot, I let it sit for a few days... I also hosed it off after the mudding, so it was just F'd up. Lesson learned I guess. Electronics might me kinda waterproof, but stock metal sealed bearings certainly aren't. In a way, I'm almost happy this happened. Bad for the wallet, but tearing this thing down to nothing and doing a rebuild has taught me a lot really quick. I love wrenching on these things, and it's good to learn from your mistakes.
