I hope, that they lower the points, because the Stompa is actually very cool and in Dread Mob for 2 CP and a Mek you can do up to about 400 (!!!) damage in one round, I think that's why it is so hard to balance in points! In this combo it shoots down everything it wants, but good players would not give it good targets and then shoot it themself...

I don't really want the Stompa to be competitive. I just want it to be a bit more flavorful.

I mean it only has pistol on a single s3 shot. You’re going to be using grenade on your deffkoptas anyways, and everything has assault in Kult of Speed. It’s a bad unit even compared to the other kars competing with it for 75 points

@valdabad exactly. It can advance and do actions and do actions in melee. It also had the shittiest melee before 10th came around, now it's decent like all the others. And cherry on top, just gained the grenades keyword. It's the most improved, has a good 36" range debuff, not bad for 75 points

Gonna say now grot tanks are straight up better for DMG in dread mob. The -1 damage strat is best value on a meka dread. Meka dread themselves spread +1 to hit buffs and have base terrifying melee. Squigoth is the only real model without a home.

Kmk being lower ap than any other Kustom gun feels like a typo to me, but I’ve still always run bubblechukkas and they’re surprisingly good 😅 smasha guns definitely looks the best pick atm though imo.

I didn’t think I would enjoy painting but painting Orks has become my favorite part of the hobby. Can’t say you’ll enjoy it but it should be relatively painless compared to other factions. And if you think your paint job sucks, you just say, “Well an Ork painted that, so of course it looks bad.”

They didn't consider unit strength in the detachment they're designed to be played in, which is why this video is invalid.

Dreads are a vehicle so they can fire skorchas in combat. Theyre great to rapid ingress too! Index dreads I've been using 2 skorchas and 2 klaws to just disrupt the enemies plans

Indeed. I see now I worded my self poorly, what I ment was ofc that they can shoot the skorchas while in combat, as you point out :)

And they ruined Killa Kans ability to the point where they just won’t ever opt to roll on that table when shooting. Previous one was vastly superior to this.

Were Custodes overtuned? Yes, they were especially brutal for melee armies. That doesn’t mean we should celebrate them becoming less enjoyable to play, it just means something else strong will take their place and there will be one fewer faction you see played. That means less variety, less people playing, and just an overall less healthy state of the game. We should be lifting each other up, not kicking each other down

@@Makarislethal Orks were still picking up tournaments, so we weren't winning the fight phase automatically, at high and mid tables we had a 50% wr. And we don't have the tools to "play" - custodes are durable, and mess stuff up if they get their mits on them. Take away durability... and it's a 25 model army that dies very very easily. Nothing to "Learn" there. Make Orks 50 pts a boy, and then say "learn to play" bro. that's not how the army works. And lastly, lets say we did "auto win the fight phase" which we dind't, but whatever. Other armies "win the shooting phase" , or win the movement phase. No one wins all the phases. We now don't win any of them.

Pretty clearly not, got the Battlewagon loadout wrong, Nick wants the Trukk to go to 70-75 while an Impulsor is 85pts for a vastly better datasheet? Insane. Mek Gunz don't need a Mek to get the Dread Waaagh keyword since they are Grot Vehicles unless that's been removed.

That's the opinion of many. For all the change itself is minor, the disdainful treatment of previous lore and the outright tokenist support it had while ALSO ignoring the existing female factions in the SoS and SoB shows exactly what matters to them.

Quite a bit of doomsaying around this, it wasn't handled well but frankly, doesn't change much overall, I really think people are blowing this out of proportion, the primaris was a WAAAAY bigger lore mistake than this and it worked out... okay

@@ImperiumofRat it's a combination of pattern recognition from other franchises, the unified ideology of intersectionality or "wokeness" that is literally pushed by Blackrock and Vanguard in a publically stated goal of FORCING societal change, and the evident disdain for the franchise itself in the people who made this change as is obvious by the way it was done and how they treated criticism of it. Primaris was given lore justifications and story, bad though it may have been. The necrons lore expansion was an immense increase in the faction's complexity and required effort. This was NONE of those things. This was blatant tokenkism for ideological purposes. Give an inch and they'll take a mile. You think they won't continue to push for FSM now that it's been displayed that 6 editions of lore mean nothing? The whole POINT is to turn the franchise into a propaganda factory. Inclusivity at all costs. Ultimately the BEST possible thing to happen is for people like me to be wrong. However, NOT raising a stink and pushing back if people like me are CORRECT means the doom of the franchise. Look at all the other franchises that have already had this happen to them.

@johnj.spurgin7037 a lot to break down here, so I'll try to address the overall theme, and first 1 clarification, tokenism isn't adding another group of people to the franchise in this way, if it was one single addition and never brought up again (yet to be seen) yeah, it is but women being added to the canon of custodes doesn't mean they being tokenised inherently, for the forcing societal change, yes, societal changed is forced, every push in a political and social direction has been made by pushing and forcing their wants, literally all of them. Finally about the subject, I have a simple question, was being all men a fundamental aspect of the custodes, I don't think so personally and I've heard no good reasons why it would be, adding wlfemale custodes to me should be seen as a "eh, not much actually changes here and it might open some new narrative options" I think this is mainly a knee-jerk reaction to change and people are ironically making their political opinion a reason why these changes aren't wanted Tldr: eh, nothing much changes and I think it's wildly being blown out of proportion

@@ImperiumofRat No, not ALL societal change is forced. Societal change can and does happen slowly overtime as generations develop different views from their predecessors. Part of the reason forcing it is bad is because the slow progression of a gradual shift allows for social darwinism to weed out social changes that are inherently flawed or would lead to negative outcomes. All of history is a series of grand, organic social evolution as the good is kept and nature naturally allows the bad to die off. Accelerating that process does not leave time for potentially diaastrous elements to be winnowed out. Having read about the ideology in question MY opinion of intersectionality is determined, but the dangers of pushing a change unnaturally should be pretty obvious. As for custodes being all male, the issue is that the pre-existing lore that the customerbase loved was discarded and treated with disdain. This was not a constructive retcon like changing the necrons from soulless Egyptian space terminators, it was a negative retcon that unmade decades of established lore for the sake of apparently nothing more than "inclusivity." The Talons of the Emperor have a dedicated female element in the Sisters of Silence who have long needed a range and lore expansion, but instead of making that constructive change EVERYONE would have appreciated, they discarded existing canon and didn't even have the decency to add a single unit or datasheet. And that is why I call it tokenism. They destroyed decades of lore and added NOTHING, while at the same time releasing the worst index I have ever seen since I joined the game. If they add more female custodes stuff in future it would no longer be tokenism, but until then it is.
