I think you’re on to something. I’ve had a sneaking suspicion for a little while now that it’s even one step further than just Gange “saw something weird” though. I have thought Howard was attempting grooming him for gay sex partner. Sounds far fetched but if you have been a fan of the show you know how close Howard and Ralph were, and how so many times they said such homo effeminate things to one another. Gange when he was young was an attractive guy, was fairly thin and had hair. I bet Howie was testing the waters with him to see if he’d be into it like Ralph most likely was. When Howard would tease Gange about having no game and his bad luck with ladies he would often say stuff like “You are a good looking guy, what’s the problem” etc. I think it was a bit of hiding in plain sight and covertly making small passes toward him. Remember that story Howard told about Fred when they were real young, how one time he was hanging out with Fred in his underwear or something, and Fred apparently got weirded out?
