Artillery SWX1 Heat Pad & Aluminium Bed Replacement

As my stock heat pad failed I figured it was time to try a new bed alternative while doing the repair. Fulament offered to supply a new aluminum bed , heat pad and insulation to assist with my dilemma. Video covers Pad replacement as well as the upgraded bed install.

Wish i had thought of picture frame clips! I did the really little binder clips n that WAS problematic for anything near the edges XD not fun! Had to remove my bed today n figured you might have a video on how and with a few tips. im glad i watched man. Big Thanks to you!

I added a CR-10 Z stabilizer kit to the back of the Artillery. The angle brackets work perfectly at the top and I only had to drill 2 holes on each rear side for the straight brackets. Worked really well, very solid and I didn't have to print a contraption to mount it. Looks stock as well!

My bed has a pretty good dip in the middle. I also think it may be kinda heavy compared to aluminum. too bad the Fulament bed is sold out right now. Thought about modifying a cr-10 bed to fit.

Hey, the print bed linked in the description is seemingly less flat now reporting to be up to 0.2mm rather than 0.05mm. Any ideas on alternatives for the sidewinder?

how do you get the stock heater pad off the stock glass bed? iv ordered an aluminium sheet so il need to refit stock heater

I used heatgun on old glass. soften up the glue. then a broad scraper to gently pries off. be mindful that the pad has wires inside so don't flex it too far.

@@eatthisvr6 get some high temp silicone adhesive -no brand in particular. that will reapply. I honestly just wound up buying a new one with the 3M adhesive already on it and a new insulation pad. just less to do, but if your on a budget the original method works good.

I saw there is no earth wire on that plate. Aren't you worried about this?🤔

Heat mat has built in fuse and is tied into the SSR. also use strain relief so not overly concerned with it. I have 1mm PEI sheet on top so limited contact with aluminum anyway
