2 жыл бұрынOur 6.0 TDI V12 Q7 project hasn't progressed much over the last few months but when we were offered this damage V12 engine we couldn't refuse...
We can now use this to develop the parts for our own V12 TDI engine without having to strip the good one.
The first job was to take this over to Luke at@DieselPumpUK to come up with a solution for the gearbox!

@@cihans4923 It's 6L of common rail technology. I would think 1000hp would be a pretty low bar. But then I see some silly transmission options so that opens a new can of worms.

Bigger turbos!!! Have a turbo on each bank, route the air from the first compressor wheel through the second compressor wheel to compound the air density.

Darkside have you done much with the Jaguar XF diesel v6 ? Few tuners around but no aftermarket upgrades, can't find intercooler or turbo upgrades never mind fueling etc few mates rocking the 240bhp version and very limited to what they can do which is sad considering its a decent little v6

@@NiallJones1986 The crankshaft in this engine is so weak they break in standard tune. No scope at all for extra power. Ford beefed the crank and bearings in the version used in the F150 but have since dropped it because it is a weak output engine even after the upgrades. You'd have to discard this V6 and put in a proper one like the VAG V6 diesel.

Glad you got the engine, but bummed to hear it got damaged in shipping! About the weight, dont forget i left the pistons and rods out, also the timing chain side is empty and in bags. Audi states the engine has 334 kg.

Do you know how many of these Q7 V12 were made? Some articles I've seen say under 100... but there are quite a few for sale.

@@DarksideDevelopments thanks mate, the engine is a great interest of mine. Does it run twin R70 pumps? And what do you suspect the injectors can support ?

2 R75 pumps. I'd have to look at the duration map to be sure but I can't see us getting past 700hp on stock injectors. We have upgrades for everything luckily!

now you can make a w24 tdi engine. just get someone to make the block, chuck all the bits on and boom. would weigh 700kg and have thousands of lb/ft of torque so maybe a bit much for the jimny 😄.

It can be done with the right knowhow. It's a matter of getting the right conversion plate between the engine and gearbox and the right flywheel/clutch set up but it isn't a straight forward job.

@@DarksideDevelopments For me, what's the point of having that much torque and power without the other side of the experience being a mechanical shift. a proper 6 speed gated manual transmission coupled to this would be an amazing drive. I wonder if it would fit in my W123 :) i know a Pagani Zonda's 7.3 litre V12 fits, only just though.
