1) Typically it should be with further away nodes or rather nodes not shared in the same vassal network if I recall. 2) Yea small scale roles im sure will be found. Maybe during this node war we could sneak around the back lines to flank their reinforcements and/or stop them from returning to their camp with the pve mats 3) Yea they acknowledged in this stream that vfx are still a work in progress and will be toned down/adjusted soon luckily

Nope it’s open to the entire node to take part in. Even a solo can contribute. Surely there will be a guild with a large group defending and running a group, but this operates as a system to encompass the entire node, but anyone can show up with their own groups, goals , and objectives. I feel the guild war system will be very similar to this. I can’t really foresee abuse with the system

Also wondering how they will combat large guilds taking over entire servers and coordinating with mayors

@@acecard1013 Guilds don't own nodes, the citizens of a node do, and there is no way for a guild to monopolize citizenship of a node.

There are some very significant differences to those 3 in gameplay though. This is not a character based theme park RPG MMO. It is closer to a 4x game, in the way it works. It just doesn't have that Godlike character playing the Civ or faction. The Citizens of a node decide the course of that node by their collective actions, with a transient mayor/ruler that has some (but not many) leadership abilities. You can specialize as a worker, or a warrior, but you are not going to get far without a mix of all types, producing resources and defending you from barbarians and other players. If your node doesn't have an iron resource on it, then you will want to capture a neighboring node to secure the resource, so you can defend yourself better and grow your city/node. PvP and PvE are only indirectly connected to improving your character, as you have to level up your city/node, before you can get better gear, and more augments making you more powerful. And we still don't really know how a Scientific Node helps "Science", compared to a Religious Node helping "Religion" (for example) and the merits of either. Are you better going for a Scientific node/victory or a Religious node/victory and how do they differ? I would characterize this as a MMO4x as opposed to an MMOrpg.

Hybrid of both. Soft lock tab will be what's used most by ranged. Action will be mostly used by melee. But you really have options to use whichever you prefer.

Hybrid. A little bit of both. This far the melee oriented archetypes seem pure action and ranged archetypes are tab. You also have the option of an action camera similar to what throne and liberty and guild wars 2 offer

Easiest way to look at it is as PvPvE. Games or scenarios where you’re not only dealing with just npcs/adds/bosses but also the threat of players as well simultaneously. A very fun concept especially considering how different one approaches an AI opponent vs another player. Makes for some interesting gameplay

@@SpadeofAce007 is the one I’m waiting on. But there’s a couple of MMOs that lightly touch on pvx, but no modern ones that have it as a core identifier like aoc will. I’ve been playing Albion online which has some potential in it. ESO’s imperial city. New worlds opr supposedly does but that’s a stretch. WoW may have some on pvp servers 🤔

It's a PvX game. If you enjoy PvE and PvP as a whole you can enjoy this PvX game. If you only enjoy PvP you will not progress well in Ashes, if all you do is focus on PvP, you will fall behind dramatically. Even if all you do is focus on Caravan runs, you will not be able to PvP alone and keep up. If you flag for PvP and go red, you get massive debuffs that eventually cripple your chracter, that route isn't viable either. How is the main focus PvP again?

@@DoingFavors all videos I watch at AoC, thy always say that this game is mainly for pvp, even from the recent videos with guests (I guess that thy are all saying lies according to you). In Archeage you need to do pve and potato farming trade runs to make gold, unless you do RMT which AoC will have this problem too where RMT players gear up so fast and focus on PVP only to ruin other players. I played Archeage for 7 years, Lineage 2 for 10 years, and yes these games were PvX and sandbox elements etc but all the main focus was pvp which ruined the gameplay of many after some time; because of the reasoning below. Even in Archeage or Lineage 2, if you cannot win pvp fight against zerg or geared players you are marked as potato player because tab target games are based on zerg and who has better gear to own all the main end game contents. In Lineage 2 or Archeage, thy just keep you pk to keep away from the slot and pk guy does not bother to be flagged as red or purple, thy use their main characters or loging to 2nd, 3rd etc characters to do it. It was kind of same for Archeage too. Thus, what is the difference in Ashes of Creation? there will be sure quests or farming mobs to lower your karma points for sure. The concerns I have mentioned in my 1st comment is still same where Lineage 2 had that kind of massive nerfs on the character when you pk another player etc but it did not affect the main goal when thy target other party to help the main party, it was same for Archeage too. Node war flag system is kind of similar to Archeage guild wars but the 3rd party was able to heal the actual guild wars flagged group thy support (and of course if the fight happens at pk'able maps thy attack the other group even thy get criminal points in the game, or thy use skills to trap others or prevent other group with any means with absurd tactics), or in Lineage 2 castle siege, the 3rd party players are able to pk other players in the attacking group which is count as pk kill and you were getting karma points. These are the main real problems of these two games when a 3rd party decides to support one side. Thus, is it the case for AoC too?

So im probably not the best to answer this but i do, with all that kind of see your question lol. Basically if you are a citizen of a node you will be flagged to the attacker. Anyone that is not a citizen from either side will appear in the world as any other random player you would encounter in the world. So what is to stop none involved/flagged players from jumping in the middle of your battles to simply muddy the waters and cause you to unintentionally PK none combatant players and rack up the negative effects of murdering ppl. Honestly i have no clue how they are going to address that issue.

😟 whattt i love the armor designs. The ones in this stream were perhaps bare minimal but looking into a lot of their in game and cash shop cosmetics, they are quite impressive imo

Though I’m sure this is low level 15 armor

Im actually a big fan of barbaric armor styles. The whole conquistador full body medieval knight stuff is kinda lame imo but i really hate that BDO eastern anime armor style. Maybe they should just give lots of options and mix it all together?
